  1. HBP game yesterday will have us ready today to make a statement to these BIRDS and we’ll seeing them at home at the end of the week too . Can’t wait!!! LFGSD ‼️‼️‼️

  2. [Nightengale] The Boston Red Sox have no plans to trade outfielder Jarren Duran at the deadline, rejecting the San Diego Padres’ offers, and are more likely to move him this winter.

[Nightengale] The Padres have been quietly shopping starter Dylan Cease for about a month for controllable players who can help them now – and also in the future.

[Nightengale] The San Diego Padres and Arizona Diamondbacks will play a series in Mexico City next April.

  3. Sounds like the rays are open to moving Yandy Diaz.  If so the Padres should have interest.

    Most realistic bats to target.

    Laureano, Robert, Ohearn, Diaz.

Less likely but should attempt to get Murphy, Alcantara, rice.

Could also see a pen arm or a starter.  That could depend on if they deal either of Cease or Suarez.  Though I’m currently inclined to keep both.  Outside chance I could see Adam moved.  Doesn’t make sense I get it but with his additional year of control he would have some good value.  More value than Suarez.

The two I’d most want are Murphy (unlikely being dealt) and Laureano.  Would control both players for at least through 2026.

Hard to see a Kwan/duran type trade.  Maybe in the offseason.  Neither feel like a great fit for this years team but fit better next year if Arraez is gone.

  4. I hate being that guy but it would be an injustice not to share:

Rumor is going around, which I believe to be legitimate in nature, is that Preller has framework for a deal in place for someone we have been linked to publicly and is “aggressively” pushing for it to be done by end of day tomorrow.

I cannot fully ascertain who the exact target is but I have concluded based on contextual information that it’s either Kwan or Laureano.

Please take all of this with a huge pinch of salt. I am not an insider, nor is the source of this information, but I’ve been around long enough to know who’s full of it and who isn’t and I very much trust this person and their track record.
