  4. I’m glad the Padres got pissed, I know I’m tired of seeing Giants hitters get drilled with no repercussions. I bet a lot of other teams’ fans could say the same. Hitters need to get some kind of protection back

  6. Ninth inning, up by two with a runner on first. The pitcher isn’t trying to put his team further behind. Manny has to understand that.

  23. You guys hate a lot on a dude who was a hot head when he started in the league but really mellowed out. And throwing the ball at the dodger dugout last season even Roberts said was a farce. Machado is not hated by fellow players as much as he is hated by baseball fans. Look how many cards players came to Mannys aid. Everyone involved knew it wasn’t intentional, cards pitcher and Machado were shown embracing and laughing a few minutes later. But you play ball for a living and things pop off. If I was being thrown inside a lot and got hit twice I’m probably not gonna pause and think “hmmm was this intentional? Should I yell”. I’m gonna be fucking pissed and just go with my energy. Is the right thing? Idk I’ll decide that with the post game interview. But right now I’m gonna let this energy carry my team to victory. And that’s what happened. I feel it’s like flopping in soccer to draw a penalty, a stupid tactic, but a tactic none the less.

    Personally I love the drama! I wish it was like hockey but you have designated fighters on your team. Benches clear and form a circle around the mound and each team picks their champion.

  24. The first one was an accident and very minimal. The second seemed to be intentional. But the Padres have been throwing at Contreras for 3 games and hit him twice. Cardinals pitcher stepped up

    If you’re not in the active lineup (1 pitcher, 9 hitters) and you enter the field, 5 game suspension.

    So the benches clearing only equals up the numbers, none of the bullpen running in.

  43. If you leave the bench area but don’t actually fight, it should be an immediate ejection. Either fight or don’t, but this whole “we are going to meander toward one another for a few minutes and then walk back to the bench” is dumb as hell.

  45. Manny is a great player but also kind of a bitch. If your not gonna do anything, then just walk your ass to 1st and don’t say anything.

  46. i understand the situational aspect of the ninth inning and why it wouldn’t make sense to plunk him in that moment. however, they already hit him intentionally once in this game. that to me kind of removes plausible deniability. to people expressing confusion as to manny’s frustration, being hit with a baseball twice sucks, intentional or not.
