The Calgary Flames surprised a lot of people last season when they finished with 96 points. Will they be better or worse this season? The Flames lost a tiebreaker to the St. Louis Blues who also had 96 points and thus the Flames missed the playoffs. Heading into this off season, they’ve got some big-time situations they need to figure out. The Nazam Cadrey situation, they got to decide whether they’re going to keep him or trade him. Also, they’ve got to find a way to get much, much more scoring than they had last season. Nazam Kadri led the team with 67 points. Jonathan Huberedo had 62. Then McKenzie Weaguer had 47 points, as did Matt Coronado. I think Coronado is going to have a much improved season this year and should finish around the 65 to 75 point mark. But they are going to need a lot more help from guys. You know, they bought in Ryan Lombberg last year. And in 80 games, he only had 13 points. Connor Zerry needs to stay healthy. They’ve got to do much better in front of Dustin Wolf than they did last season. And Wol stood on his head and he had an excellent year and in my opinion was a big part of the Flames success. I don’t think the Flames are going to be able to keep up that momentum this season. I think they are going to have a major drop back and I am predicting that the Calgary Flames are going to finish this season with just 83 points, missing a playoff spot.
