The Dallas Cowboys Day 5 Training Camp Highlights WITH Pads Was CRAZY… | Cowboys NEWS |

Ladies and gentlemen, another day here for Dallas Cowboys training camp is officially in the books. And today was one of the more exciting days because first day of padded practices. So things definitely did get a little bit more intense and we’re going to break down everything you need to know from the news, the notes, the highlights, the observations from today. However, before we dive in, I do want to give a massive shout out to all the reporters, Joseph Hoy, and everyone else that does such a great job getting these highlights out for us, kind of enabling us to make these videos. Make sure you guys go follow them on Twitter. I’m not going to cover every single play. Uh, so if you do want to see more film from today’s practice, go check out the reporters. But right here, we’re going to get a play action bootleg out to the left and we’re basically full sliding the offensive line. What does that mean? Now, as we playaction fake this to this side of the field, all of our linemen are going to trend in this direction. We’re trying to get these second and third level defenders to bite up on this run fake. As we do that, we’re going to roll out to the opposite side of the field where we have about three routes right now. Essentially, when you have a bootleg like this, your field gets cut down into a third. So, you got to get that football out really quick. Usually it’s there’s, you know, skinny posts, there’s crossers, there’s comebacks, there’s flats. Um, and right here, we’re going to dump it down to our tight end on a quick out. And I believe this was John Stevens. Yeah. So, John Stevens here. Play action. Boule out to left. Uh, he’s working with the first team. So, shout to uh John Stevens. We just got Jake Ferguson. Contract numbers came out today, so he’ll be here for for a long time, but they like what they have in their other tight ends as well. Good first play here to start practice. But with that being said, let’s dive into the rest. Now, according to Joseph Hoy, there was an injury in practice. Brevin Spanford did go down as he’s trying to run block here for his running back. You’re going to see him kind of get tossed over an offensive lineman fall down and instantly grab the back of his heel. Probably not the best news in the world. We don’t know the severity of the injury as of right now. Uh, but it does seem like his practice today will be over. Again, when I’m recording this, it is early on in practice, so I’m not really too sure. We’ll see what happens. But he did go down. He did walk off on his own power to the medical tent. Uh, but again, at the end of the day, I do not know the severity as of right now. But again, does not look great. Hopefully, it’s nothing major. All right. One of the players that has really been making an impact on this defense so far in training camp is linebacker Jack Sandborn. You’re going to see him right here in number 57 on your screen. Let’s watch the play and I’ll show you exactly what he does. He does a great job here. Look at this. So, first of all, he is in a hook curl. So, essentially his job here is to read the quarterback’s eyes because the majority of time these quarterbacks I know you guys can’t see them. Um, let me actually move my screen up here. So, the quarterback, Dak Prescott, is looking in this direction as Dak Samborn is dropping in his own. He continues to read the quarterback’s eyes, right? He doesn’t know Jaylen Tolbert is behind him. He’s just reading Dak Prescott’s eyes. So, as Dak fires this ball, Dak Sandborn’s essentially running with Tolbert and breaks this ball up, or at least is in the coverage of the area. Great job by Jack Sanborn here again reading, reacting, and attacking, looking at the quarterback’s eyes in his zone coverage. Does a great job because initially Jayen Tolbert’s open if it isn’t for Jack Samborn. Like this is a catch might not be for 20 yards, but it’s a catch and probably completion if it wasn’t for Jack Samborn. Again, this is a guy that’s going to make an impact on this football team almost on probably even day one. This is a good read, a good play by Jack Samborn. All right, we actually have a couple of corners that are looking pretty good. Trayvon Diggs and Siobhan Revel being out with injuries. Couple of guys are stepping up. One in newly acquired Kier Elam coming over from Buffalo. They acquired him this off season. He’s a guy that Buffalo gave up on, but he has high-end talent. He’s looked good. But also another guy they acquired at some point uh maybe last year, maybe two years ago, Andrew Booth is also starting to look pretty damn good. And I know it’s going to be tough to see on this play. We’re going to get a fake hand off to the running back. We’re going to step up in the pocket. We’re going to try to find George Pickkins here on a low away ball. And Booth comes in, swash this thing on the ground. Incomplete. He’s actually looked pretty damn good over the past couple of weeks here or I guess past week here of training camp. And I think he’s uh only going to get better from here. Now again, when you when we go back and look at this Dallas Cowboys depth chart, um you’re going to notice one thing, right? Yes, they have guys they like and Kyrie Lam, Don Bland, but Trayvon Diggs and Siobhan Revel are have injuries. I don’t know when they’re going to be back yet. Do I know? I don’t know when they’re going to be ready. Does that mean Andrew Booth could be a day one starter for them? Possibly if they’re not healthy. So again, we’re going to have to continue to look at Andrew Booth over the next two weeks. Also, Juani Thomas had a great day yesterday. Did come down with an injury. Looks like he pulled something. He was not practicing with the team today. And before we get any further into the video, guys, we’ve probably got a lot more highlights to cover. Um, hit the like button, right? If we get over, let’s say, 700 likes on this video, we will post non-stop Dallas Cowboys videos throughout the entirety of training camp, pre-season, breaking down all 22 coaches film. And then the same thing for the regular season as well. We got you guys covered. Join the family. Turn on post notifications. That way, you’re notified every time we cover this Dallas Cowboy team. With that being said, let’s kind of dive back into the video and uh get some more clips in. This clip is from Tommy Yarish on Twitter. You guys can find him, Tommy_Yarish. Great job. So many clips does he post. And here we go. We’re getting, you know, under center snap. We drop back. Looks like a three-step. Just throw the ball. It’s a quick route, a quick throw. Get the ball out early here. We can’t tell the coverages. Um but I’m guessing because we’re running a quick out, we probably have off coverage. Stop it, get it, and go. It looks like, was that Andrew Booth once again. Is Andrew Booth wearing number 25 for this team? He is. Okay, so Andrew Booth once again getting another rep versus uh George Pickkins. That time does get beat for a nice little pickup. Nice job. Quick little completion. Nothing crazy. Hasn’t been, you know, the most explosive practice. I feel like the defense is doing a really good job thus far at uh containing massive plays. Okay, one of the most electric players over the last couple of days. Not saying that he’s going to be a starter because Devonte Williams and Miles Sanders are splitting a lot of those reps and those are probably going to be the guys, but I would be surprised not to see Jaden Blue at least get some sprinkle carries in there throughout the season. Look at this play here by Jaden Blue. So, they’re in a single eye back, a single eye set, uh, single back set. And look at this. The one cut ability of Jaden Blue is different. Now, again, they’re not trying to tackle here, but look at his ability to one cut, right? He’s going to hit the He’s going to hit the gap, right? Whoop. And then watch his stop. Oh my lord. Couple of explosive plays here by Jaden Blue, even with the pads on. Looks pretty damn good. Again, this clip is coming from Tommy Yish. Tommy_s. Go follow him. Great job with the these clips, man. High on Jaden Blue, man. Let me know what you guys think. How do you feel about this running back room right now? You got Sanders, you got Javvante, you got uh Phil Mafa, you got Jaden Blue, you got Duce Von, who was out today, looked good yesterday. What do you think about Jayl? Where does he uh fit in that pecking order? This is one from Joseph Hu again. He says, “Forgive the camera, but nice run by Miles Sanders.” So, he’s going to hand it off to Miles. Same thing. This is why I don’t think Jaden Blue is going to be a full down player for you. But look at this, right? He’s going to cut up the field. I know you guys can barely see it. Um, cuts up the field. He’s going to bounce off a player right here and just go again. Uh, the Cowboys are not trying to tackle, but what they’re really trying to establish in this defense is going for the football. You’re going to see a lot of guys here specifically go for the football. Like right here, go for the football. Go for the football. They’re not tackling. So, he probably would have went down a lot earlier on this run. But again, they like this dude. They like Miles Sanders. They like Javvante Williams. They’re giving them all a shot to be a player for them. And right now, I I would say probably Javvante. Miles Sanders is 1 A, 1B, and then 2A would probably be Jay and Blue in my eyes with them three being Phil Mafa. Ah, you know what? No, I’m going to go 2B due spawn and then three Phil Mafa. What do you guys rank it? We got another tweet here from Joseph Hoy. Andrew Booth has two PBUs today and then a tight coverage on another George Pickkins incompletion. Backto back good days of practice so far for Andrew Booth. Again, when we look at this deb chart, there is a spot for him. There is a spot for him, especially if these guys aren’t able to get healthy. Andrew Booth could be your number three corner on this on the boundary, I guess you could say. Uh but most likely when everybody’s healthy. Again, we haven’t even seen Siobhan Revel yet. So we we need to see him practice well. Uh you have Trayvon Digs uh Diggs, Kyrie Elam as your one and two boundary corners. Then I’m guessing Rebel will be your number three with Booth being your number four. Let me know what you guys feel about Kayn Carson. But cornerback room doesn’t look that bad. A lot of high-end talent. We talk about the former first and second round picks and third round picks they have here. All right, here we go. I think this is one of the last throws of practice. Dak Prescott drops back in the pocket. Throws it down the field and finds George Pickkins right by that sideline. Ultimately catches it for the last play. Great job here by the O. Not the craziest day in the world, but it definitely was pretty fun. Let me move my face cam. Man, I feel like I’m always in the way. Let’s watch it one more time here. drops back, steps up, beautiful throw, great grab in the air. That’s how practice is going to end today. Again, just the first day of pads, things are going to intensify a lot more. I feel like the defense did pretty damn good today in terms of containing deep shots. Uh I wasn’t able to see any 50 60 yard bombs in this game or in this practice. So, defense did well, offense got their, you know, their good plays here and there as as George Pickkins just falls down to end practice. I thought Jaden Blue look pretty good. And here comes CD Lamb as they uh these the duo right here, the duo and the newly high paid man. It’s going to be a fun year. So, let me know what you guys think. I’ll see you guys for tomorrow’s update. Peace. And also, wait, go follow uh John as well. So, Tommy Yarsh, Joseph, John, go follow these guys. Peace.

  1. Mark my words, Our rb room will be leagues better than last year due to this O-Line and staff. Maybe not a top 5 but def top 15 to 10 is where I see the cowboys at in terms of running ranks.

  2. The last time the Cowboys emphasized punching the ball out they were one of the worst tackling teams in the NFL…I'm worried about this defense.

  3. Love the content but the names in the corner are a bit bothersome. Any way you can just make it a point to shout them out at the beginning then remove them while the game tape is playing? Or even make them smaller and in a line at the bottom so they're not in the way?

  4. bro booth is a bum thats why the vikes let him go hes not that good but hes only going against are offense in practice keep the same energy when he gets burned in real meaningfull games

  5. DUDE PLEASE STOP BOOTH IS HORRIBLE IN COVERAGE NO SINCE OF AWARENESS WHATSOEVER DUDE SUCKS BALLS STOP HYPING UP THESE BUMS SMH 🤦‍♂️ HE SUCKS 💯Especially during the regular season

  6. 188k followers you gotta take all that extra stuff off and just say your handles in the beginning. “Make sure to follow me here all of my handles are in the description”
I can’t watch your videos with the extra writing on it I’m sorry bro

  7. Diggs hurt again just like two years ago got hurt at practice. We gotta do something different. We don’t need no one hurt if people keep getting hurt we need to find somebody’s got Youngblood and strong body
