So, could the Toronto Raptors be trading away RJ Barrett to the Charlotte Hornets this 2025 NBA off season? Well, here on the screen is a trade proposal or a trade idea from fadeaway world.net. The link to this article is down below in case you want to go ahead and check it out for yourself, but this trade would see the Charlotte Hornets receiving RJ Barrett and the Toronto Raptors receiving Josh Green, Grant Williams, and a 2026 firstround pick swap. So, in my personal opinion, this is actually a pretty realistic trade that I could see happening this off seasonason. The Raptors have been shopping RJ Barrett for quite some time now. Uh, leading up to the 2025 NBA draft, there was tons of reports about RJ Barrett possibly going to the Nets or going to the Celtics and a bunch of different proposed trade ideas. So, it seems like Toronto is not tied to RJ Barrett by any stretch. if they’re able to get back some decent value for him. They would trade him away immediately. So, in this case, the Hornets get a legitimate 20 point per game scorer. He’s still relatively young in his NBA career. So, this guy can grow with the rest of this young core with LaMelo Ball, with Brandon Miller, with recently drafted Khan Canppel, etc. I think R.J. Barrett going to Charlotte could actually be a pretty cool fit and add some more offense to the team on the wing. And as I mentioned before, if the Hornets want to take another step as a franchise, adding a player like uh like RJ Barrett who fits into the age, you know, range of this team tremendously well, it makes a lot of sense. So, I like this move from the Hornets perspective in my personal opinion. Now, from the Raptors perspective, it does make some sense as well. You’re moving off of RJ Barrett. You’re getting back some different assets in return. The Raptors have a pretty high payroll right now for a team that isn’t really that amazing in my opinion. So, I think that shaking up the team, maybe adding some more depth to the rotation might not be a terrible idea. Acquiring Josh Green and a good veteran like Grant Williams is definitely not a terrible idea. I think that if you’re able to add have maybe more of a depth approach next year in Toronto, it can make up for some of the the injuries that could happen with players like uh you know, Brandon Ingram, with players like Scotty Barnes who are somewhat injuryprone, I would say, uh in their NBA careers. So, if you’re able to get back those two players as some solid assets, plus a first round pick swap, which from Charlotte could be, you know, potentially a lottery pick. So, I don’t mind this move and truthfully speaking, it’s a pretty good trade for both sides. If I had to pick a winner, I’m actually probably going to go uh with the Hornets because I think that they are getting back the best player and that RJ Barrett makes the team a playoff team in my personal opinion.
