  1. And to think this guy will go down as one of the best big man of all time.

  2. Jokic is immensely talented but what I respect and admire about him the most is that he only kinda cares about his job

we always hear about how grueling the NBA is but he legit has great work life balance

  3. Translation of the full video:

“I’ve said long ago that I’ve experienced all my biggest victories and all my biggest defeats in this sport.

All these people who are playing this sport here are my friends, they experience this the same way I do. We’re doing this as a hobby, and this is a chance for us to have fun, hang out and enjoy life.

Journalist: Did you say something to the Italian driver since he did an amazing job?

Jokic: With us it’s very simple, if you aren’t first you’re nobody. Jokes aside, like Vlada said he’s a top 10 driver in Italy currently, with not that many races.

We have to thank Francesco Allesandrini, our veterinarian, who’s been working with us for three years helping us out.

Then Nemanja and Milos who are our foundation. My father Branislav and uncle Sloba who are in charge of the organization, as well as my colleague and I who are in charge of making everything “worse”.

There’s Vlada Pribic who made me love this sport and I’m involved in this sport because of him. This is an incredible achievement for us.

Like I said, I’ve experienced my biggest achievements and my biggest failures in this sport, and they know that and they control me as much as they can”.

  4. “All my biggest victories” it’s not even a meme, Jokic cares more about horses than the NBA, people need to stop getting upset by folks pointing it out, he clearly isn’t trying to hide it

  5. He’ll probably end as a top 10 basketball player to ever live and it’s not even his favorite sport 😭

  6. It’s crazy that he also talks about his biggest failures happening in equestrian because this implies that even his national team play is less important to him than this, not even just the NBA

  7. If only Andrew Bynum had cared this little about basketball he could’ve been the GOAT big man…

  8. I respect it lol. I fucking hate my job but I’m good at it and it pays the bills.

  9. The driver looks very happy , i would too if my boss was worth a couple of hundred million

  10. We get it bro you don’t like the American way the nba handled and what comes with it it’s corny now…he’s pretty much talking out his ass

  11. At this point, this shit isn’t any less insufferable than Jordan-LeBron comparisons. Like we fucking get it. Let’s fucking move on, guys.

  12. I think a lot of people are missing something pretty important here:

Jokic fell in love with horse racing at the same time he got into basketball as a kid, but unlike basketball where he’s on a professional team in foreign country, most of the folks who work with his horses are the friends and mentors he’s had since he was a kid. So winning this is a team victory not with his coworkers but with some of his best friends from his childhood. So it hits a lot different.

  13. You just know he hates that his body is as big as it is because it crushes his true dream of being a jockey. You don’t have that kind of emotion over a hobby when he’s done the things he’s done in the NBA.

  14. I wonder if anyone else has this take. But the very reason that makes Jokic great as a player is his detachment from Basketball.

It’s not part of his identity, and his ego is completely disconnected from his Basketball. His stoicism towards basketball outcomes keeps him in his “flow” state.

Basketball was a much bigger part of my life, I used to get hung up on wins and losses, if somebody else shot the game winner, if I miss an open look, if somebody isn’t taking me seriously it affects me positively and negatively.

As opposed to Volleyball, where I’ve played in higher level competition than Basketball. It’s something that I was just good at, I got recruited in school because of my leaping, I got trained, I was in higher stake competitions and that drove me to always put in the work. But I don’t get riled up playing volleyball. I did not sulk on bad performances, i just assessed and adjusted.
