A’s Rookie Nick Kurtz Hits FOUR Home Runs in One Game to Make History

since April 23rd. That’s the day he made his major league debut. Now he goes inside out deep to left. Four. Forget about that baseball. Come on. It’s It’s ridiculous. His 20th of the year. Make that 39 extra base hits for Curts on the year. And that is a screamer to left. Five to nothing. Out of the ballpark by Nick Kirks. I mean, that’s an 82 mph back door breaking ball that he absolutely melts. One, two, high in the air deep left center field. Traveling back is Hmel and it is off the wall. Cortez coming around to score and Curts has a double to the deepest part of the ballpark. Churn it up. Big Amish. 01 in the air to deep left. Houston, you do have a problem. His name is the big Amish. [Applause] This kid is incredible. 10-2, his second home run of the night, his 21st of the year. And the Astro Faithful are fed up with Curts. And how easy this comes, right? Change up a way that he stays on. And it’s really just a poke of the bat. I mean, that is just a flip of the wrist. And again, that looks like it comes off the bat of a first pitch. Oh my goodness. It’s unbelievable. This kid is on another planet. [Applause] [Music] And for very good reason. We can start with three of them. Here’s the last one. 97 mph fastball. Top shelf. Churned and burned on. Raise a bar and raise a fast ball. The big Amish can do it all. Hammer time. Second deck. Swinging a drive deep to left. He’s done it four times. [Applause] What a magical night for the big Amish. Smooth as butter, baby. Shut it up. Incredible. Simply incredible. Oh my god. Oh my god. [Applause] You go ahead and add the humble chapter to the book. Just another special, something out of a story book. Six for six, four homers and six RBI’s, six runs scored. He has more than introduced himself to the world here tonight. Chris Nick Curts tonight has as many home runs as the Houston Astros have total hits.

Athletics rookie Nick Kurtz had one of the greatest games in MLB history, going 6-6 with 4 home runs and 8 RBIs. He’s the first rookie to hit four homers in one game and the 20th player to ever accomplish the feat.

  2. OK, so even as a 'no idea what happened' Brit I get it. It must have been just the best to have witnessed that in the stadium!

  3. Genuin question:
I don't watch a lot of baseball, but I like watching highlights.
The pitch at 3:02, it doesn't look like the pitcher is even trying? It looks so slow and badly placed. Has he given up? Is he just not good enough? Whats going on?

  4. He missed being the first player in history to hit 5 in a game by about 2 feet. Unreal how easily he generates power to the opposite field. Fun talent to watch!

  5. So it’s ok to say repeatedly, β€œBig Amish”, but what if he was was Jewish or Catholic? Are we going to repeatedly say, β€œ Big ??” by the commentator? And yes, Amish is a form of religion..
