  1. Whoo, Jack Koch time!

Since it’s DeGrom I’m predicting a 1-0 win for the Angels.

  2. Command will be key…when Jack locates his secondaries well he can get swing and misses. Saw that during the Dodgers game when he had that change up working. Seems the organization is of the same mind since he threw basically nothing but sinker/change up during that AAA start. Had a 33% whiff rate on that change up in his start. Seems they like that combination as the bread and butter with perhaps the slider as the occasional third pitch.

Still, was Jack able to make the adjustments in such a short timeframe? 4 walks in 5 innings is pretty bad. Guess we’ll find out…

  3. They kicked him out of the rotation and then realized there’s no one else to take his spot

  4. Jack is a good pitcher. His command was killing him. Hopefully that’s all he worked on during his stint in AAA.

  5. Why the fuck is a guy with a 6 ERA as a starter even in consideration for the rotation at this point in the year ?

  6. He only pitched 5 innings (scoreless) in AAA. Did they “fix” him that quick? Lol

  7. I see the vision by perry, play your worst pitcher in a pivotal game to make arte bend to selling

  8. If he’s only making 1 mediocre start why even send him down? How does that help anything?

  9. It’s not as if the Angels have any better options but I guess that’s the biggest issue.

Jack Kochanowicz’s ranks among the 93 pitchers with at least 90 innings pitched this season:

    85th in xFIP (4.82)
    t-8th in K rate (15.6%)
    90th in K-BB% (4.8%)
    91st in ERA (6.03)
    91st in WHIP (1.63)
    Last in FIP (5.55)

  10. Need Dana to be called up immediately, get some experience and confidence against big leaguers
