HORRIBLE NEWS: St. Louis Cardinals pitching prospect Tekoah Roby out for the year

I tell you what, if the Cardinals didn’t have bad luck with their pitching, they wouldn’t have any luck at all. Horrible news announced today, courtesy of the Athletics, Katie Woo, that one of their top pitching prospects, Takoma Roby, is now done for the season and probably done until 2027 after undergoing Tommy John surgery. was having a very good year. Got promoted from double A to AAA and he was one of the guys I was really excited to hopefully see here at the end of this season in the big leagues pitching for the Cardinals. And now he’s done and he’s done for next year. Just brutal news. And that goes along with what Cooper Jerpy’s already out with Tommy John surgery. Sim Roberts is out with Tommy John’s surgery. Quinn Matthews has dealt with injuries. Tink Hence continues to deal with injuries. Like, dude, that sucks. Absolutely sucks. For the latest updates and info, be sure to keep it locked on Cardinals.

  1. Well when the ship has a hole in the keel, do you try and plug it or let it go down, hmmm. Might as well fulfill the Dewitt's desire to sell off Helsley and Arenado and Matz.

  2. Hey JD:

TJ surgery is the main dish that’s been on the Cardinal menu for nearly 30 years.

Ball players need to lay off weight lifting. They just need toned bodies that are limber and not tight. Just do baseball activities with some jogging and to keep up the cardio.

    That’s my unprofessional opinion.

I believe the Bash Brothers brought a lot of new strength ideas to the game and many a ball player took to weight lifting because of them….steroids besides.

TJ surgery seemed to sky rocket in the 90’s until this very day.

Is it coincidence that when TLR arrived TJ surgery increased. Then McGwire came in and he surly had great influence.

Weight lifting is for football players not baseball players because baseball players play every day regardless if they are in a game or not.

They need to get off the weights! JMO.

  3. The art of pitching i recall hearing is … pitch selection that works for 1 individual . Pitching is not and never has been 1 size fits all.

  4. Greg Maddox proved to the baseball world that killer stuff isn't absolutely required to be an effective pitcher.
The guy on the mound needs to be smarter than the baseball everyone wants to crush.
The guy on the mound needs to be smarter than the coaches that think they know more than you do about yourself.

  5. JD, Gloom, despair, agony on me. Deep dark depression excessive misery. If it weren't for bad luck I'd have no luck at all. Gloom, despair, agony on me.
