ohhhhh craaaap
Jesus if he only wants $6m sign him ffs!
What are we doing guys… pay the man before someone else does, he’s earned it and we CANNOT be letting him go into arbitration and then ufa unsigned
Wtf Chevy you got the cash pay him!
Chroist, Chevy. No more drama. Just sign the man.
I’m suspecting 1×4.8m then he leaves in FA
he gone
If they don’t have a long term deal done before arb, he’s gone too
8×7 incoming.
Have faith, young ones. All will be ok.
Give him 8×8 he’s worth it. In a few years that’ll be a steal.
He should be getting an 8 x 8 contract today. If he only gets the 1 year deal and becomes a UFA Chevy should be fired!
I don’t understand why we don’t basically blank check any of our guys in this stage that actually want to stay here. No use in saving that money, since there’s no chance we’ll ever actually land a big ticket free agent anyway. Just keep our guys, pay the man
PAY👏THE👏MAN👏
if they walk him to UFA ill be beyond furious
Are they kidding with this 2.5?? This is one player we absolutely need to sign long term! He is a top defenceman already and will only get better.
Patience young grasshoppers.
We’ll extend him long term for a number higher than both of those.
Pay the man, don’t fuck this up
ITT: People who don’t understand the arbitration process
Shite we need Samberg Chevy pay the man
Why do they keep screwing around with their D men?
Well at least elliot friedman doesnt seem worried, and as we all know, he is usually right about most things….
The amount of people who don’t realize the 1 year ask for 6 mil is not the same as his ask for a long term deal…..Tell me you don’t have any clue how the salary cap works without telling me….
Pay the man!!
Can somebody explain to me what this means??
$6m as his “ceiling,” even if in the context of the 1 year deal, is a good sign for the jets
Chevy was just needing this to come out so that it would be posted on Reddit and he could get the input from all of us he needs.
thank god the people saying just give him 8×8 are not in charge of the jets
I’m not too surprised, as right now we’re in a bit of a tough spot. As not only do we need to worry about resigning far more important players next season(Lows and KFC, I like Sammy but those two are way more important). On top of that I have a feeling we’ll be making some moves during trade deadline this year especially if Toews and Nyquist don’t pan out.
I like Sammy and I’d love for him to resign long term but it’s a sticky situation especially since right now we’re in a possible cup winning period while we still have Scheif, Bucky, Morrisey ect in their prime.
2.5m is hilariously low, that’s typical for these filings. If arbitration was like MLB where they pick one or the other deal, it’d be more realistic. But almost always the NHL arbitration goes towards the middle of the two.
I don’t understand how anyone believes that he is anything more than a 6th D. We are notorious for signing the same useless D man to terrible contracts. Let him walk if he thinks he’s somehow worth that much.
