Pelicans Game Recap 07.25.25
Game four of the six game series between the Myrtle Beach Pelicans and the Columbia Fireflies. Bottom of the second inning, stolen base attempt. Saped got himself a stolen bag and Aaron throw. The Pelicans would steal four in the first inning. They added three more in the second, leading two nothing. Here’s a ground ball. Alexi Loy beats it out at first base. That would net another run, make it three nothing Myrtle Beach. Couple batters later, bouncing ball over to third base. Becker has it on to second. He throws it into center field. Myrtle Beach scores another. They were out in front four nothing before they picked up their first hit of the night. Top of the third inning. Columbia scores a run. And then a base hit into left field would add a second. They’ve cut the deficit. Four to2 as we go into the fourth. Top of the fifth inning, two on and a sinking ball out to right. Espinosa tries to bareand it and rolls under his hand. That will allow a run to score. Columbia has it back within a one-run ball game. In the sixth, Justin Florentino really settled in. He ended up going four innings, allowing one unearned run and striking out seven. Bottom of the eighth. Yil Melendez slaps one up the middle. That’s a base hit. Sapeda chugging around third. It’s fumbled by Ramos in center field. That allows him to score standing up. Make it a two-run advantage for the birds. Bouncing ball. Hamblely on the hill. Sena trying to glove it. off of his glove infield single and it’s back to a one-run game. Hamley had not allowed a run since May 1st, but he allows two here in the ninth. We go tied all the way to extra innings. Birch would not score in the bottom of the ninth. So, we go to the top of the tenth with Ethan Bell on the mound. He shined. He got us to the bottom of the tenth where Jos Escobar Sky one deep out to left. It’s got a chance, but it’s got by McNair at the track.
