Best Cub ever. Cancer really sucks. God need a good 2nd baseman
Ryne Sandberg was a staple of after school baseball during the formative of years of my childhood. I’m one of probably millions of children who grew up both Braves and Cubs fans while he played.
Damn. Condolences to his family and the Cubs organization.
RIP Ryno
RIP Ryno! As a kid playing 2nd base in the 80s/90s this was my guy.
Damn that sucks. RIP Ryne.
The speed of cancer will never cease to (traumatically) amaze me: He throws out the first pitch in April and is gone by July.
Far too soon: deepest sympathies to his friends and family during this difficult time.
I was never a Cubs fan but as a kid growing up in Wisconsin I got to see Sandburg play thanks to WGN.
To me he was the Cubs.
He is will be missed.
Sad. He had such immense respect for the game and was so talented. Even as a Cardinals fan, I tip my cap to Ryno.
Jesus man brutal last weeks
Dammit. We’ll miss you Ryno
Rest in power Ryno
I grew up watching WGN in Georgia. . Ryno was my second favorite player after Dale Murphy. Rest in Peace, Ryne.
RIP legend. You are undeniable
Fuck. One of my favorite players who wasnt on my team
Fuck cancer.
My childhood hero…gone too soon. RIP Ryno! I am sorry that I never had a chance to tell you in person how much I enjoyed watching you play the game.
God dammit. Between being a Cardinal fan and watching WGN after school, I saw A LOT of Sandbergs greatness as a kid with my own eyes. Hell of a ball player, RIP Ryno.
I share the same birthday as Ryne Sandberg (September 18th) RIP to him and condolences to his family. #FuckCancer
This is awful, may his friends and family know he was a legend (Im sure they do)
He lived in my hometown and was active with youth baseball. It was wild to see him throw out the first pitch on the little league field where I pretended to be him, He was good guy and kind to those kids. This sucks.
Get your prostate checked on the regular fellas.
RIP to a guy who played the game the right way…my grandpa who got me into baseball was a diehard Indians fan, but he had a couple of players from other teams who he would tell me stories about and encourage me to be like: Dave Parker, Cal Ripken and Ryne Sandberg. Say hi to my Papa when you get settled in up there Ryno!
Two hall of famers a month apart now, just awful
RIP Ryno. 1st it was the players of our grandfathers and then fathers youth. Now it’s the players I grew up with. Tony Gwynn. Dutch Daulton, Roy Halladay, Rickey Henderson, Ryne Sandberg among others
This fucking sucks. I wasn’t a Cubs fan but thanks to WGN I watched a shit ton of Cubs baseball in my youth. Ryno was the shit.
