Tennessee Titans fan immediate reaction to Treylon Burks getting CUT

Tennessee Titans fans, I am coming to you from Nashville. Actually, I’m in Nashville for some work stuff. Been working all day. Hadn’t really had a chance to check the news, but I I got a chance tonight and I find out that Trayon Burks has officially been waved by the Tennessee Titans. Essentially meaning he’s been cut. They are parting ways with Treyenbergs. It’ll probably go on IR officially or something, but this officially brings it to an end. The Trail Burks experiment. And in so many ways, he never had a shot because he was brought in literally to be the replacement for AJ Brown, the best wide receiver that this organization ever had. So, he was brought in already with those expectations. Everybody was mad about the trade. He was the guy brought in to replace him. He just he never had a shot. But especially when you consider I mean he he couldn’t even get on the field. He he was hurt all the time. And and I’m not saying that lightly. I hate it for him. He could not stay healthy. It was always something. Always something. And every year it was like the never- ending cycle where you would get excited for him because this might be the year that he breaks out and then every year it just never happened. Injuries, you know, just other people passing him up on the the depth chart. Dehop passed him, Robert Woods passed him, and then um Calvin Ridley passed him, Nick Westbrook, Aeen passed him, and this year he if he even made the roster, he was going to get passed up for Chim DK, Alec Ayomor, probably Bryce Oliver, maybe even Xavier Restrepo. It’s just been a disaster. And um I know John Robinson wants another job in the NFL, wants another shot to be a GM somewhere, but the AJ Brown trade and then essentially signing Tayen Burks to be his replacement, it is it is just the biggest asterisk in the world next to his name because there is no good answer for why you would ever have done this. I don’t know what is making that glare on the screen. I don’t know. I think it’s I don’t even know. It’s It’s so unbelievable that that he did it. And he and he I think was the main one that did it. And I just I I wonder what he’s thinking today. like you traded away the best receiver we ever had and tried to replace him with just any old person you could find in the SEC. And look at how it turned out. He’s played hardly any meaningful snaps. Has had a handful of nice plays, most of them his rookie year. And now I think he had one touchdown, two, cuz he had the fumble he recovered in that one game. And then he had one where he got concussed in another. So just awful. And I hate it for the kid and and I hope he finds his way. But this concludes the story of Trayon Burks with the Titans. And it’s been awful from start to finish. Not all because of him. It was bad from the start. It was bad from the start. And today it officially ends. And I wish him the best. I really do. He seems like a great guy, but this was just I mean I I saw in retrospect the Eagles got AJ Brown, the Titans got Nicholas Patifer, Kyle Phillips, and I think Roger McCreary. So, two wide receivers that are already no longer on the team, a tackle who is no longer on the team and was no good when he was, and then a decent cornerback is what you got for AJ Brown. Was it worth it? Was it worth it? We knew the answer to this years ago, but today just confirms it was not even close to worth it. It’s one of the stupidest trades I’ve ever seen, and today seals the deal. Now, looking forward, again, we talked about this the other day when we kind of talked about this topic. I think this seals that Bryce Oliver is going to make the roster. He probably already was, but with trailing out of the mix, I mean, you got to think the chances of him making the roster and the chances of Xavier Restrepo making the roster go up. And I know that so many of you are much more intrigued by what Bryce Oliver or Xavier Restreo can bring to the team much more than you were trailing. And I can’t blame you for that. They’re both young players that we haven’t seen a lot of. So, of course, I don’t blame you for being much more intrigued by the two of them than you could be possibly about. Um, but yeah, it looks like Bryce Oliver and Xavier Restrepo, especially Bryce, their chances of making the final 53 just shot up exponentially, even more so than they already were. And this is a this is a day that we all saw coming, but it doesn’t make it any less true that this will go down as the stupidest trade I’ve ever seen. Maybe other than the Browns and and Deshawn, maybe that one was Well, that one was dumber, but still, I mean, the what what are you thinking? Any everybody in the room should have to answer for it. Vel, Amy, John Robinson, who already has answered for it with his job. What are you thinking? Why Why did you do this? AJ’s winning Super Bowls and Tilon’s getting cut. Was it worth it? AJ’s winning Super Bowls and Nicholas Patifer is not even playing anywhere. He’s hosting a podcast about making bets. Was it worth it? AJ’s winning Super Bowls. Kyle Phillips is is he even on a roster? If he is, he’s probably like on a practice squad. Was it worth it? AJ’s winning Super Bowls. Roger McCreary is a good player, but he’s going into a contract year, and I’m not even confident that they’ll resign him. Was it worth it? I’ll never get over it. On the bright side though, new days are dawning. We are continuing to cut ties with the John Robinson Titans with every passing day. And being in Nashville, like they’ve just got so much Titans merch just in Walmart. I went in there to get some sodas. Zero sugar. And they’ve just got these Cam Ward jerseys for like 20 bucks. It’s like, you kidding me? Do you want my money? Because you’re going to get it. And then I get home to find out Trayenburgs is officially cut. Not surprised, but it just brings to light how disgusting it is that we traded AJ Brown for this guy. Disgusting. Tighten up.
