Im torn because I love Ward but I believe it's in the best interest for the organization if we trade him

  1. Jansen is one thing since he doesn’t have much history with the team, but I wouldn’t trade Ward unless someone makes an offer we can’t refuse.

  2. He’s made it clear that he wants to stay.

Trading him against his will would be a clear violation of his human rights.

  3. Yea we should keep him unless another team massively overpays. We’re a couple years away from being contenders but we have a nice foundation.

  4. Followed Wardo since his Low A days with the Orem Owlz. If youre reading this Perry.. keep Taylor please

  5. Then give the team a discount and sign a cheap long-term extension. I bet the only reason the Angels hesitate is because they know he’s going to ask for something stupid like 120/5

  6. That’s my fuckin guy.

Just wish he’d interact with fans more 🤷‍♂️

  7. Angels did nothing with trout and otahni, what makes him think it will be any different for him. It’s not like the farm is in better shape

  8. It’s tough because this is the best season of his career and the peak of his value. We could flip him for a prospect or two for the future.

At the same time we have him signed to another year after this and we lack outfield depth.

I think Perry should dangle him out there and wait to see if a sweet enough deal comes along. If nothing good comes then we keep him.

  9. Do I understand not wanting to trade him? Sure. I love the dude. I would hate to see him traded.

Logically, though, we aren’t a playoff team. This season has been the best we’ve had in years, and its been fun to watch, but if we’re honest with ourselves, we all know this team is done come October 1. This team is in a perpetual state of just below mediocre, and as long as we know we aren’t competing, we should sell off whatever we can to actually build for the future.
