Rays vs. Yankees Game Highlights (7/28/25) | MLB Highlights
All right, Cam Schlitler is on the mount. The tripledigit firepower. I mean, he opened up some eyes when he came out in that first start throwing 100 miles an hour several times. Grounded the second. Got him on a curveball away. There’s another one. Swing and a foul tip held by Wells as Diaz took a second look out at the mad slipper. Well, that was 100 miles an hour. So, that’s coming at you at 100 miles an hour and he’s 67. It must get on you in a nancond. Outside and high and he has walked Aronda. Good to see Aronda get on base and that’ll bring up Junior Commonro. Well, we have a guy on the mound who throws 99 to 100 occasionally and a guy with great bat speed stepping in potential for fireworks. Sounds like 2-1 and a highf fly ball back into deep left. Dominguez will go to the track to the wall. That baby’s gone. Home run off the bat of Junior Cabanero. So in the matchup, Slitler with the hard stuff, Camo with the great bat speed and he pulled that one out of here. You know, we saw this, we saw a lot of of Tampa early and you could tell that this kid just has it. 22 years old. What a future. Duras very good against the Yankees in his career. We knew he was good against the Yankees, but I didn’t realize quite how good. Five career appearances, one run allow just under 27 innings. That one is looped into left field. It’s a base hit for Dominguez. And Dominguez making his first career start in the number two spot in the order. Picks up the hit. Well, let’s see if Bellinger continue to come through here with need a lot of guys to step up with no judge in the lineup. Center field. Simpson takes a strange route and cannot make the play. And we gave you the sound report just showed up there. Yes, it’s all about Reed. This is about as bad a read as you can get. You can see him freezing, backing up, and then starts starts to come in and almost saves it because of that speed. But yeah, that this is a gift. Line drive. It’s a base hit to right field. Dominguez advances to third. They do not run on Josh Low. Three straight singles for the Yankees. We’ve seen a lot of that from Stanton going to right field. Bases loaded. So here’s Chisum. Big spot early. Boy, this becomes a huge pitch after that two-run homer by Junior. Gives the Rays an early lead. All of a sudden, bases loaded. full count against a hitter who has thrived here in the Bronx. And he just missed inside and that will force home a run. He had the reaction from Chisum that he wanted, but the ball just didn’t get to the edge. Cole Schmidt all set. So is Rasmusen and a cut and miss and that a big strike out there. Had some sink and some gety up. So, here’s Ryan McMahon, three for six against the Phillies. Had a big two-run double in the second inning yesterday. And the count is four. So, a very big pitch coming here as he gets to the 30 pitch mark. All four. That brings home Bellinger. A riby for McMahon. And the Yankees have tied the game just like that. I would go out on a limb and say that Drew Rasmusen has never walked in a run. Never. And you’ve seen it twice here in the first inning. Here’s a swing and a little flare back of the infield on the left side. Taylor Walls runs it down. Moving to his right. The Yankees bat eight and n tie the game, but more self-induced wounds from the Rays. Here is Matt Dice, kid from Jackson. Two two ball game here. Top of the second. Here’s a pitch of bat. Look at it. Goes flying over the Yankee dugout. Hits the screen and then into the dugout. Somebody on the on the arm was uh Max Freed. He’s he’s touching his heart. So are we. He’s shaking his head. Jean Carlos in back of him laughing. He just he just put his head his took his cap off, put it over the interlocking and Y on his chest. Need to protect that guy at all costs. That’s why you watch the game. Get caught looking at an iPad and take one off the dome. We have a tie game moving into the fourth inning. 2-2. Christian Gray, the second baseman, leads off. Swinging a ground ball, rolled towards second, charging and fielding. Chisum stumbles and throws at the first leads and Gray is safe. Chisum was kind of slow getting to that baseball. He had a tough time putting it out of his mitt and then he tried to shovel it and it didn’t work. So Gray aboard. You’ll never embarrass yourself by hustling and Tristan Gray did that and that helped to put a little more pressure on Chisum. He lines it into center. That’s going to drop for a base set. So on backto back pitches, the Rays now have two base runners. kind of an opportunity for Thice here with Dave Jansen getting traded before the game originally in the lineup. Now he’s the guy that’s probably going to get the bulk of catching. Swing and a miss. Thice down on strike. Big strike out for Sch Slitler. It’s unfortunately an unproductive out. And here’s Chandler Simpson. Hit up the middle. Bulby right there at the bag. Touches the bag. Throws the first double play. Oh man, talk about orders. Thank you very much. And the Rays have two men aboard with nobody out. Now is your chance. You know, after that rough first inning for Bull starters, they kind of settled in. It was who was going to settle it down first. Well, they’re both doing a pretty good job. And now all of a sudden, the Rays able to take advantage. So, the Rays have the middle of the order up after the Diaz walk and the Aronda hit and a line drive into left that will hang up and be caught by Dominguez. The Rays runners will have to hold. Lucky he’s very fortunate because that’s another fast ball that did not get to its location and Camro was able to put a good swing on it. Just happened to be right at Dominguez. So with one away, the left-handed bat of Josh Low. Ringers with an opportunity to break this 2-2 tie. Lined into center for a base hit. Diaz is around third. He’ll dig for home and he will score. Aronda goes to third on an 0 and two. Josh Low with a base hit up the middle and the Rays take a three to2 lead. Well, that hit is massive and we wondered why you would stay with the right-hander there and Aaron Lou’s going to make the move now. Hopefully it was one batter too late and the Rays find a way to win this game. Bullp the number nine man. I want it to happen. And a short diving stop Taylor Walls and that side fire over to first to Aronda. Got him. Nicely done by Taylor Walls there at shortstop to get Anthony Vulpi. That ball was absolutely scalded by Vulpi. Taylor, we talked about how great he is defensively off the bat. That ball smoked and look at that laying out to the glove side. But then you got to finish it off and he does it in style. Drew can really pitch. You can see the movement on his pitch is subtle but late moving after the first inning. Struggled a little bit is really settled in. Got through five innings and that’s going to be it. Came on had a 1, two, three, sixth inning with two strikeouts and now he begins the bottom of inning seven. Little number to third. Monero plenty of time scoops and throws and that’s out number one. And a wave and a miss. Five up, five down. Take in called strike three. Top of the zone. Edwin Husseed with two brilliant innings and four strikeouts. And the Rays maintain their one-run lead to the eighth. Jose Caviierro leading off. Ground ball deep short in and out of the glove of Vulpi. Tried to backhand, knocked it down. And Caviierro is aboard by striking out the previous half innings not helping his cause cuz there’s some boobirds here or some bronze cheers if you will. There’s a base hit. Hill dropped down and th stayed in there. Pulled it into right field. Off the plate. Torn the mound. Hill can’t field it cleanly. Everybody safe on the bases are loaded. A little number off the plate. They probably didn’t even go 30 ft there, but Duca loads him up. And now Yandi Diaz will come to the plate after the Ray’s 11th hit of the night. Bases loaded, one out, up 3-2 in the eighth. Yandi sends a fly ball in to left, angling in. Dominguez. Here’s the catch. The tag at third. Caviierro heads to the plate and he is safe. So the Rays on the sacrifice fly. Pick up another run to make it four to two. And we’re going to see Ahmed Rosario for the first time as he pinch hits for Dominguez. Line drive. It’s a base hit. Those numbers go up. A pinch hit single for Rosario. Makes a big turn and he’ll head back to first. Chop. Going to be a tough play, but it’s a nice play by Cleer as he gets Bellinger as Rosario moves to second. Well, John Carlos Stanton is due up and Kevin Cash with Fairbanks up in the bullpen will go to that bullpen. Both managers doing things a little bit differently tonight, being a little bit more aggressive with their bullpens, knowing how important a win is. Stanton is out on strikes. He got him with 98. And the Rays maintain their 4-2 lead as we head to the ninth. Last chance for New York. And here is McMahon against Fairbanks. Ryan McMahon with a single to get the tying run to the plate. Here is Austin Wells. The Yankees aren’t done yet. Just their third hit after the first inning. Here’s Wells, who is a dangerous hitter. Fly ball right center field. Duko on the run back to its left. Still going. He makes the running catch up to the wall. He climbs up onto it and the Rays have won it in the Bronx. We’ll put a star by that play to end this game. And the Rays take game one here in New York.

Did we just win a game? DID WE JUST WIN A GAME! We did. Wow. I haven’t felt this in a while. Gg Yankees
Need an upgrade at second base, and Left Field (Dominguez isn't the guy) when can we call Lombard up to replace Volpe?
Love it when the yankees lose
That defense again… I'm not even a Yankees, but I click and watch these highlights just to see how atrocious they'll be with the glove… Never disappoints, huh.

Any time the Yankees loses my heart is happy lol!
Wow Yankees really scored on only 2 walks with the bases loaded and that was it.
At this point I’m just used to them losing
🫵😂 Eat it, Yankees!
