[Taylor] Three consecutive days in pads, it was bound to happen: We have a punch. Josh Simmons punched fellow rookie Ashton Gillotte after a rugged 9-on-7 period repetition. Gillotte removed Simmons’ helmet. I cannot properly describe to you how miserable it is out here in St. Joe.

  3. Simmons had the “maturity issues” rep in college so this isn’t surprising. Him and Gillotte have been chippy for days now.

  15. It’s too hot to practice any later than 10 am. Even the evenings are not cooling off and humidity is staying miserably high

  20. The way that was worded made me think we had a punch like something bad happened. Like a metaphorical punch. Like Simmons getting hurt or something.

From the two videos I saw, Josh blocked all the way through the whistle (love to see that) and Gilotte was tugging on his jersey then takes a shot at his upper shoulder area/head, so josh just thumps him right in the faceguard (solid 10/10 hit) then they exchange a couple more blows and Gilotte grabs at his facemask and it appears the helmet comes off actually from one of the teammates trying to break it up.

    Obviously its hot as balls out there and tempers will flare in this heat, but I think this is merely a continuation of the last few days of Josh absolutely dominating Gilotte in their competitive snaps, like its starting to get personal out there lol.

  27. It’s like swimming out there.  I was in Missouri over the weekend and it was 20 degrees cooler and STILL sucked
