I was finding google chrome’s ai search returns so incredibly handy as far as saving time and not having to click on possible bad links, fake sites, all that.
But then I started noticing how many errors it was making while returning a confident sounding answer.
For example, ask it how to do something in a piece of software that you might think that software can’t do. It may return an answer with 3 to 5 steps on how to do exactly what you need using that software. Only, it got those steps off the internet from a different application entirely and not the one you were asking for help on. Might take you a minute to notice after one of the steps points out a menu item that your app just doesn’t have.
Ask a question like what round in the 2024-25 playoffs the Knicks make it to. You might get all kind of mixed answers based on this year’s results and last years results, even another team’s results.
