Miami Heat Couldn’t Agree On Rozier For Smart | Hassan Whiteside Is Jacked! | Bam Adebayo Chases UD
Hey, welcome on in guys. Tobin here with you and thanks for checking out the channel. I hope you’re doing well there. If you guys could subscribe, that’d be great and appreciate you stopping by. So, I don’t know if you guys saw this, but been perusing around uh social media, boots on the gram, and uh the Miami Pro League is going on. Miami Pro League is a uh local league semipro. A lot of uh NBA players or former NBA players, NBA players, a lot of guys who, you know, work out with certain gyms down here. They go and get some run at a local high school down here. And a lot of times it will drag out, you know, sometimes it’ll drag out some big stars. I would say probably uh the the most publicity it got was a couple of years ago uh when Donovan Mitchell was playing amidst the Heat rumors and people were chanting for him to come here and Bam Adabio was uh playing with the uh the number 24 and we all started seeing Bam start dropping threes and we’re like excited about it. So, you know, it’s uh it’s a fun thing. I think it’s a fun thing. People get to go watch some some NBA players uh in their summer. Maybe they don’t get to get out to Heat games during the uh during the actual NBA season, but a lot of the times you’ll have these these former guys go go uh who play for the Heat, local guys like Brandon Knight. Uh I believe in this past week they had D’Angelo Russell playing in the league. Uh I believe that Zire Wade, the uh the Prince of Miami had uh had come and played in this last uh this last slew of games. But dude, I saw a photo from this last game and I was like, “Holy crap, this what is going on here?” And I don’t know if it’s because I got offseason goggles on right now and I’m I’m just jonesing for anything. And I feel like, you know, you get to this point of the off season, you get a little bit uh it it’s a little bit like 3:00 a.m. at a bar. like you’re getting a little you’re you’re getting a little loose with your standards perhaps. Maybe you’re getting a little bit more uh nostalgic. I don’t know what it is. You’re a few drinks in. But I saw this picture on Instagram with the Miami Pro League attacked attach attached to it or tagged to it. And I was like, my god. Now I know this individual has been doing a lot of uh weightlifting. He revealed this on the OG’s podcast. If you look at his social media, you could see that this man is turning himself into an absolute Hulk, but a as if a a a post Miami Heat Avenger. Have you guys seen what Hassan Whiteside looks like? I mean, like, I’ve known that the guy looks like a monster, but he looks like an absolute freak monster. Now, mind you, Assan Whitide was basically a a freak anyway. the way that he walked into the NBA and you know he could throw up rebounds and block. Nobody was doing it with blocks. Nobody’s doing it with blocks. He’s getting his 2K rating up and uh you know really prior to the Max contract and the team souring on him a little bit. Uh there was there was a time where Miami Heat fans were in love with Assan Whiteside, but I’m just like looking at this guy looking like he walked out of the Bane lab looking like he could just basically shoulder press Eric Spolra if he chose to. And I’m like, this guy can’t get 10 rebounds for somebody in in 10 minutes. I feel like this is crazy. Now I don’t know what Assan Whiteside’s desire to play basketball. I imagine there it’s there because I think he was just playing in the Puerto Rican league before he had a knee injury and he was putting up like wilt numbers uh in in uh in the Puerto Rican league. And I’m looking at the physicality. I’m looking at him playing in these these smaller leagues. Now, obviously, it’s not going back to Europe. He already did that. He probably is sick of uh of making the overseas thing. Maybe he just wants to go play some competitive basketball. Again, I don’t know what his desire is, but I was just like, maybe this is July 29th talking. Maybe this is, you know, training camp still being months away talking. But I was like I was talking about Vousvich yesterday and I was like, “Yeah, could they not use Nicolola Vousvich? Could they could they not figure something out there if Nicolola Vousvich was uh, you know, was was open to a buyout and went somewhere?” And then I’m looking I’m like Assan Whiteside’s kind of the same age as Noolus. Now I don’t know. Uh again, there’s a couple of things here as far as the Heat’s concerned with bringing in Hassan. One, again, how much does Hassan want to play basketball? Two, how much does he want to play basketball for a minimum? Does he do the Heat even want to sign him to a guaranteed deal? Would that be some kind of a a try out type of scenario? But I’m just looking at this dude and he looks like he could kick Bane’s ass and I’m wondering to myself, this guy could absolutely take the physicality of the uh of of the league again. Yeah. Like there’s no way that this guy can’t go out there and figure things out for 15 minutes a game and get you eight and eight. Like I I just feel like he could do that in I I feel like Assad Whiteside could legitimately be in his sleep. He could be high as a kite on uh what the hell is the uh the sleeping drug that that people use? Ambient. That’s the one I’m thinking of. Ambient. He could go out there high as a kite on ambient. Sleepwalk his way to eight rebounds. I I just feel like he could. Um downside to it, one hasn’t played basketball, I think, truly from the NBA for what, three years? So, that’s probably a uh it’s probably a big ask. two. Uh, would Eric Sper be down for it? Hard to say. He did. We did have multiple stints of Michael Beasley. Let us not forget. And I’ll never forgive Eric Sper for not playing Mario Chambers when he was back on the team on a 10day. And the fact that he never put him out on the floor is truly one of his great crimes. But I I don’t know. I looked at this and I was like, you know, you telling me this guy can’t do something? Look at him. He I mean, he’s he’s he’s a monster. I don’t know. It’s probably silly, but uh you know, I I I also realize I have an affinity for some former Heat players, especially Michael Beasley. But it’s like there’s two new superheroes that have emerged from the Miami Heat. They’re almost like the Fantastic Four is out, right? And you have like Jack Tassan Whiteside looking like the thing. And then you have like Michael Beasley, but one-on-one Michael Beasley who’s like Mr. Fantastic. Like the way that he could contort his body and win one-on-one games. Uh the these are like becoming folklore heroes in Miami Heatland. And especially you get like this level during July of nostalgia where you’re just like maybe Maybe you figure that out. It was funny though. Uh, you know, I was I was looking over some uh some big guys uh stuff because Bambio is going into this year and you know, Bam is it’s possible he could catch Udonis Hasslam, but probably not. He’ll probably catch he’ll for sure catch Udonis Hasslam next year. But the biggest mark that Bam Adabio has been trying to hit um has been Udonis Hla Miami Heat career rebounds. We know that he got double doubles last year. This the uh the hunt with Ronnie Cyclley which was a really really cool moment. The connection that Eric Reed put them together with was gooseies galore. But Bam currently sits at 5,024 rebounds. And that would put him six uh 767 rebounds away from tying Udonis Hasslam for most rebounds in Miami Heat history regular season. Um all these regular season, you know, totals, you don’t count the playoffs. Um, BAM last year had a careerhigh 749 rebounds. The year prior to that, 737. Um, so even if if Bam regressed to like a meh rebounder, which he’s not, but if he did regress to that, then all of a sudden you’re talking about uh you’re you’re still talking like, “Oh, he’s going to break that record next year.” like Bam’s worst rebounding season, uh, total rebounds when he started to really play, you know, I’m not counting his rookie year where he had 381. Uh, 564 and that was in a COVID short. No, no, no. That was I’m sorry, 564. That was the year he missed the most games with the thumb injury. 573 the year prior in a COVID shortened season. 1920 he has been at 735 uh 2223 when he was an all-star 688 737 last year and 749 a careerhigh this past season. So basically what I’m telling you is you could probably pencil bam in for you know pencil bam in for 650. I mean like he’s going to break the record next year. Could he do it? Uh, hair on fire this year. It’s not out of the realm of possibility. I mean, it’s probably not going to happen. I would say, you know, with uh with having Kell Wear out there, you imagine you got a better rebounding season, excuse me, from uh from Nico. It’s probably not going to happen, but it is another record to uh to keep an eye on. And I imagine that countdown will start get going. we can start watching it probably sometime around late March and see if he could get on some kind of a tear to uh to to to get to Udonis Hasslam. Uh a couple more things of of note. Um I don’t know if you guys saw this, but Keith Pompei, who uh was on Jason Jackson’s show on SiriusXM, there was a big story on Joel Embiid and it was it came out a couple weeks ago, but I was interesting mentioning Whiteside. Like I remember the the beefs between Whitide and with uh and and with Joel Embiid, right? And that they would troll each other all the time. It was really Assan Whitide, Rudy Gobear, and Joel Embiid. And there was a time where, you know, Joel Embiid was still trying to figure out things health-wise. Rudy Gobear was just kind of burst on the scene. Assan Whitide triple doubles with blocks. Like yes, Assan Whiteside was considered amongst the best big men in the league. Like especially just pure centers. There was a time where he was in that conversation. that that that that was a thing. And you know, I see Joel Embiid who’s only 31 years old and you know, they’re talking on this story like about all the pain that he’s been in, all the injuries that he’s gone through. Um just the there’s there’s apparently rats on the on the Sixers that he’s still not fond of. and it just ripens for things to to you know be a disaster once again for the Philadelphia 76ers who you know is everybody’s darling but uh Keith Pompe has been covering the Sixers for a long time. He went on Jason Jackson and Al Hassan show on SiriusXM and he said that Joel Embiid is talking like he knows the end is near and I was like whoa that is quite ominous because you know but you think about all the things that you know not only the feet the knees the uh the the fractures the bell’s pausy all these things that Embiid has been dealing with and yeah big men typically don’t have especially built like him have the same shelf life. They just don’t. Shaquille O’Neal, um it just doesn’t it doesn’t hold up the same, you know, and and some guys, you know, learn lose that that burn, especially after injuries. Uh Andrew Bayham, uh we see what happened to DeAndre Aton, like it can happen where not only do you get tired of getting hurt, you get tired of being big, Greg Odin. Um, but this guy’s obviously been, you know, he’s not in the class of Shaquille O’Neal because it’s, you know, Shaquille O’Neal, but it is uh it is it’s pretty crazy. It seems like like Joel Embiid is is really really uh hurting and you don’t know uh where things are at with this, but I thought that was a pretty crazy thing reading that story and seeing uh just seems like he’s going through a lot. So, something to keep an eye on for a team that is going to be in the East this year. Maybe some expect it to bounce back. Paul George, of course, just got surgery, too. Uh they just got uh Edgecomb, they drafted him, they got Maxi. Do they start looking another direction? Uh you know, so something something to keep an eye on. I know that there’s been some mention with the Heat take on Paul George and his money if they could get a bevy of picks. I still don’t think the Heat do that. Um and I don’t think that they do it for for Embiid either. I would I mean Embiid’s contract is is very very uh it’s a big one. And then finally uh there was a note from Mark Stein on Terry Roier and he kind of gave some details on the Terry Roier uh Miami situation and it said uh from Mark Stein’s uh Steinline newsletter and one more from Jake Fischer. Sources say Miami explored the feasibility of trading away veteran guard Terry Roier this off season. Jake says Miami weighed a Roger for Smart Swap. We know that. But it could not reach an organizational consensus on whether the trade was a clear upgrade. Smart ultimately secured a buyout with Washington and ultimately enabled him to sign with the Lakers as a free agent. I don’t have a huge problem with this. Um even if you think Marcus Smart is a better player than Terry Roier, I think that the way the Heat probably looked at it is Marcus Smart who was a guy that they have liked in the past. I think that what probably ended up happening is they’re like, “Well, we bring him here. What happens if we don’t want to play him?” Like, is that for a guy that we respect, a guy that a lot of people respect, he uh, you know, maybe has some other options. Maybe they talked to his agent. We’re like, “Hey, what would you think about this? Would he be guaranteed a spot? You’re going to go to the Lakers. You’re getting recruited by Luca. You’re getting the red carpet rolled out for you for the Heat.” I’ve said this with the Terry Roier thing. Like, it’s already the the hard part’s already over with the Miami Heat and Terry Roier. they’ve already ripped the band-aid of like, hey, we’ve accepted, we bleeped up, we’ve taken him out of the rotation. Uh, and on the good end of it, maybe he has a huge bounce back and he’s amazing. But on the bad end of it, you’ve already kind of gotten through the hard part. And so I think the Heat really are in a spot where they’re like, well, the damage is kind of done on this trade. Do we really need to go in another direction if it’s not a clear upgrade and we already have what we’re rolling with with our back court? So, I imagine that was probably what went into that. But, it did seem like the Heat definitely snooped around trying to trade Terry Roier. Um, and maybe it still happens. I don’t know. I mean, it’s not like the off seasonason’s over, but I can understand why the Heat didn’t necessarily go in that direction with trading for Marcus Smart for Terry Roier.
More details emerge on the Terry Rozier for Marcus Smart Trade Talks, Bam Adebayo chasing Udonis Haslem’s rebounding record, Hassan Whiteside is jacked to the gills at the Miami Pro League…camp invite anyone??? July!

Heat winning 2026.
🔥👌🏼
I was never in love with Hassan Whiteside. I wanted Miami (after losing out on Kevin Durant) to only offer one year contracts during the crazy 2016 off season. Dumb step backwards for the franchise.
Hassan needs more than to just be jacked. He needs to learn how to play real team basketball. Yes, he will get you ten rebounds, but five of them will be on shot attempts that shouldn't have ever left the offensive player's hands if Hassan had been in the right defensive position.
Now, I haven't watched any of his overseas play, so maybe he has gotten better at those things. But I don't trust the guy.
The problem he burned his way out of Miami 🔥
Bam had a career high in rebounds and still avg less then 10 per game. Check please.😢😢😢😢
Just hearing the name Whiteside annoys me and I don’t want that selfish clown anywhere near my team
I prefer Vucevic over Whiteside all day lol.
I vote for a whiteside reunion. He may have matured. All we need is rebounds and blocks
Heat could just give Whiteside a training camp invite, to look him over.
I highly doubt Bam would agree to having Hassan on the team. I’ll never forget that video click of Bam talking to De’Aaron Fox, when Hassan approached and tried to dap Bam. Bam looked at him and continued his conversation with Fox. Completely ignored dude
Marcus Smaaaaaht
Rozier was traded because of smart on their Celtics days
Now it's smart for rozier🤔
Whats up with Dwight Howard
He's in good shape
I think Howard is being black balled
