This isn’t the first time I’ve seen this off season where Goncalves is listed as a “top 6 winger for Tampa” both in official and unofficial projections. What are your thoughts?
If he has a breakout season, definitely do it later in the season. Otherwise it’s better to keep a more experienced player on the top 6 like Bjorky

I think it will change 100 times throughout the season like Coop always does.
I think it’s a big “if”, Bjork was glued to yanni last year due to their already existing chemistry, and it paid off a little bit but If I had to guess, I do think Gonzo starts 2nd line at the beginning of the season and will slowly get bumped down to 3rd line over time with Bjork going to that spot, but I do hope gonzo has his breakout year and can stay 2nd line, if he can feed tony and Hagel it will only make the team better
also where the fuck is girgensons? Theres no shot he’s not on the roster due to his PK alone
I’m more interested in the absolute battle that’s going to happen for one fwd spot between like 9 players in training camp
I actually think those lines are perfect. Will obviously change pretty consistently like coop prefers doing, but what tampa has been missing is a quality 3rd/4th line. Gonzo on the 2nd will only help him break out more, which i really want to see, and i think a third line of geekie, paul, bjork could be incredibly effective depending on how big of a step geeks takes this year.
Will be interested to see that 4th line, again there will be plenty of combinations there, but yanni will be undoubtedly effective and i like chaffees game and think he could learn a lot from playing with yanni. Holmberg seems like a grinder so that could go well there too
What’s the likelihood that Bjork is 100%?

I like what gonzo did with geekie and nick, but he’s a super promising player i like his tenacity with hag and anthony
I think Gonzo definitely deserves a look in a top six role – it wouldn’t be the worst thing, and it would be nice to start getting another homegrown/system product top line player – and at the same time starting Bjorkstrand in a reduced role after his compartment syndrome scare after last season could be a good way to see where he’s at heading into a new season. If Gonzo isn’t good enough, Bjorkstrand gets bumped up after a while. Nothing too crazy to think about.
No, I don’t think Gonzo starts at 2RW, but I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s tested there and earns that ice time through the first 1/4th of the season. He’s already shaping up to be a much better player than I think most Bolts fans expected.
