Trey Hendrickson to report to training camp Wednesday

Well.
Just to hold in
Good shit
Feels like this has always been going 1 of 2 ways:
1. He gets a new deal. Likely by him conceding a TON of his initial asks
2. He doesn’t get a new deal, doesn’t holdout because he’s old and has no leverage, and if he plays well gets tagged to do this whole game over again in 2026
Works for me
Will he play on his current contract?
Trey should fire his agent. This is the result of having bad representation.
Katie, Troy, Mike, please, please, please……pay this man. Even if he falls off, which is almost inevitable given his performance the last two year, he is still going to be better than any other pass rusher we currently have on the team.
Yes, he has been a little public with his grievances, but he has also vastly outperformed the contract he is on. He deserves a lay raise.
Plus, the fans deserve this drama to be over.
Aaaaand now it’s hold in time
Trey continues making really questionable decisions.
Whether you’re pro extension or pro play out the contract he’s made nothing but bad moves.
I think with the reports today on how much guaranteed money they are apart in current negotiations and him coming back practice he will get a new deal before the season for sure.
It will get done. It may not be until the end of camp but they’ll work it out.
Congrats, Trey, you played yourself.
PLEASE get it done. This team needs to have all distractions out the window.
he is one of my fav players, but at 31 its kinda hard to believe he has leverage, its basically sit out wait till you are almost 33 and hope for the best in a “what have you done for me lately” league or he plays for the bengals right now and just accepts the current conditions.
I normally side with the players but, he was a random DE not resigned by the saints, the bengals picked him up and paid him more than he was worth at the time, more than anyone in the league would pay him, now that he has 2 good seasons in a row he wants to back out the current contract instead of playing 1 more year, feels kinda selfish on his side. On the flipside this is exactly what happened to Kam chancellor and he ended up getting injured and his career was over, so its tough on both sides.
Trey Hendrickson signed a 4 year contract worth $60 million with the Bengals. Hendrickson received $16 million in guarantees including a $10 million signing bonus. Hendrickson is eligible to earn roster bonuses on the 5th day of the league year in both 2022 and 2023. There are $200,000 in annual per game bonuses.
In 2023 the Bengals and Hendrickson agreed to a one year extension worth a total of $21 million. As part of the extension the Bengals gave Hendrickson an $8 million signing bonus in 2023 and increased his salary for that year by $5 million. His 2024 salary remains the same as his original contract. His cap number in 2023 is virtually unchanged while his 2024 cap number increased by $2.67 million.
4 years 60 mill was WAY more than he was worth at the time, basically a bail out and a guaranteed good life for a guy who got dropped after his initial contract, which as a DE is far from ideal. So I kinda wana side with the bengals front office which is a weird thing to say. If Trey didnt produce the last 2 years would he accept a pay deduction? Feels like a 4 year deal on a cut free agent is a gamble, and in this case the gamble paid off for the front office.
Do let me know if you think i can be 100% wrong
pls be getting a new deal
Who are these guys Agents??
Agent: I have a great idea. You go to Florida for the start of camp.
Trey- won’t I lose $50,000 a day, plus the 100 grand I lost for not being at minicamp?
Agent- don’t worry about it! They will be begging you to show up.
Trey- where you gonna be?
Agent- I will be in Oklahoma. I have a new client that has this dog that can catch frisbees! He is starting his tour at County Fairs all over Oklahoma!

Is he going to pull up in his polo shirt and give a press conference about how he consulted with his 5 year old and his agent and decided that he deserved $60 million a year up front for 7 more years and doesn’t have to participate in any activity that doesn’t pad his single good stat?
I bet we see a deal in a day or two rather than this being him giving up
I’m glad he’s there, he can help Stewart progress, he will eventually get his deal, and this team can finally prepare for this season.
Trey should hire me as his agent. Wouldn’t know wtf I’m doing but i feel like that’d be a step up from whatever the fuck this negotiation strategy has been from his camp.
He saw Shemar blocking passes and said enough of this shit I’m back
Get the damn deal done!! Who Dey!!!
He has never had the leverage he thinks he does, and the 250k in fines helped him realize that. This gets done by end of next week.
