Marvin Harrison Jr. Having HISTORIC Start To Arizona Cardinals Training Camp

After a rough day offensively for the first day with pads, the offense, it bounced back in a big way and another day Johnny venerable and another Marvin Harrison Jr. freak show catch. What point do we start putting it in historical perspective what MHJ is doing? Plus, we’re talking Baron Browning. Are we buying into the hype a year later? PHX Cardinals starts now. Stop. Hey, hey, welcome in New K presented by our friends at Circle KX Cardinals podcast. Your premier number one Arizona Cardinal podcast. Look and subscribe. Leave us a fivestar wherever you get your programming. I’m Johnny Venerable. He’s Bo Brock back from training camp. Guess who’s also back? Noah man producer no back in action today. We are fired up here on a football Tuesday. I would be remiss if I didn’t also point out Shaft, our guy back in the chat, living it up. So, we appreciate all of you. Drop a like on this video again, your premier Arizona Cardinal podcast with everything and anything from training camp. Bo, how we living? We’re living well. Speaking of the man, the myth, the 11 legend, Shaft, he was out there, got to link up with him at training camp and uh was wearing his MHJ t-shirt. Looked fantastic out there. Sorry, our guy Xavier who was kind enough to to gift Kyler or Kyler Johnny. I mix you guys up all the time with a with a beautiful tip Ryman card yesterday. Got to see him. Got to thank him for the incredible content that that was. So many different people out there. Uh enjoying themselves some Cardinals training camp. Uh Kaden, uh so many more that I can’t even name. And now we see the chat like we see Ryan W Walker here. uh I know was out there on Sunday. I hopefully he was back out there again today. G Willickers, uh Jules Felix, the entire squad. How about Chris, Brian P, James squad together. Azie, how could I forget Aussie? Uh big little Tuesday here. Little day, little Friday because Wednesday, no camp tomorrow. Sad camping today and then uh recamping uh later this week in route to the red and white practice which will be out. We broadcasting from on Saturday. It’s great to be back. It’s great to have Sha back. We got Ryan in the chat, the uh Alberto, all the regulars, my guy Brian, Chris, everybody. We had major turnout on yesterday’s show. Let’s keep it going here. Again, drop a like. I I think, you know, we’re fired up about this season. We’re It’s crazy. I think like we’re not even in August yet, but we’ve got a preseason game, the Hall of Fame games later this week, Chargers in action. But like I I feel like right now Oh, man. I know. And then that’s what not just the Chargers in action. I mean they are going to be led by former third overall pick Trey Lance getting the start in that game. Pretty prestigious honor as one Blaine Gabbert once said it when he was wearing the red way of the Cardinals. An honor as a former firstrounder to play probably the most meaningless snaps of the preeason. Uh good job by Trey Lance. Uh career hanging on by a thread. Yeah, that’s a nice shout out. Uh absolutely. hopefully somebody who internally sabotaged the longevity of the Niners window, which we’ll talk about, I’m sure, later in the show. Uh, here’s what I want to talk about right now. Uh, because I’m sure you’re following my co-host on Twitter, on X social platforms. Of course, PHX Cardinals, uh, among other beat reporters in the greater Phoenix area. Marvin Harrison Jr. continues to dominate training camp. I think we would be remiss, we are only a week in if we didn’t officially label this like Marvin Harrison Jr’s camp. He is the number one storyline. He is the number one playmaker. I’ll let Bo kind of speak certainly to what he saw today, but if it’s any indication again like I number one the clips don’t do it justice. Number two, not everything that he’s doing is being posted. Like I saw Paul Cavesci had a clip yesterday that I hadn’t seen and uh Donnie Duan. It’s just like everybody’s at it from multiple angles. I I will blanket this statement by just saying that he is having a historical start to training camp. It’s everything and more that you needed this to look like and now it’s can he sustain this into the regular season. We’re a week in and I think public perception at least nationally should start to shift. How can it not? It’s starting to shift, right? It it absolutely is. is I mean you got a Marv training camp highlight fifth play on top center top sports c center’s top 10 plays who took that video by chance do you know who did that just some humble reporter uh out there unbelievable I mean but then he goes and he does it again it’s a it’s your daily dose of Marv and uh you know is as exciting as it is like you don’t want it to all become moot right you you want it to mean something you want it to be the precursor to the truly special season by Arizona Cardinals wide receiver. We’ve certainly seen greatness from that position uh here in the desert, but want to see it again and we want to see it in the form of a soon to be 23-year-old wide receiver uh go out there and and really silence a ton of critics because he’s not short on those after a good solid rookie season but checking in below expectations that were probably way too high. Uh but Marvin Harrison Jr. I mean, as far as being able to just take it one step at a time and and dominate day in and day out and be better, you know, whatever cliche 1% the next day, he’s doing that. Next step is in the regular season come, you know, September against the Saints. Do you think because I um there was some engagement on Twitter earlier this week and it was like let’s see just the the day in and day out kind of like meat and potato routes from Marvin Harrison Jr. because the flash plays are there and he had flash flashy plays last year. He had some really nice catches the toe tap against the Rams. He had a nice endzone catch against the Detroit Lions. The the catch against the Vikings. Like he had highlights worth of catches. Nine touchdowns will do that. But it’s like between the markers, are you seeing that consistently? Because I I’ll tell you what, I saw enough from being at two days of camp. I saw him working against Garrett Williams and Will Johnson and I saw those move the stick routes and I was impressed by the fact that he could get off press man easier and he gets separation in his routes. Like give folks at home that don’t have a chance to be at training camp an idea of everything in between, you know, your sports center top 10, if you will. Yeah. I mean, there was uh last year there was there was points where sometimes when Marvin Marvin Harrison Jr. was was targeted, the ball hit the turf. Not a lot, not a lot, but clearly under a microscope as fourth overall pick, top playmaker taken in that draft of a very deep draft, the name, everything that comes with Marvin Harrison Jr., you know, and you could put a lot of this on on us because our coverage was wallto-wall with MHJ. uh you know, you saw a guy that was coming in and he had his he was a rookie. He was a first year player. Now you’re seeing the the transformation, the maturation, the development of a guy that comes in and he’s he’s beaming with confidence. He’s transformed his body, which was already impressive. Sound like JG talking to Johnny right now. But, you know, Marv comes in at 220 and he’s still got, you know, the the uh the ability to move out there and and and run his run his route tree even even more so. And he’s he’s doing it down in and down out and and he’s doing it rep by rep at at training camp. There hasn’t been one rep where you look and you’re like, “Yeah, Marv didn’t look the part there.” I mean, he’s looked apart the entire time and you just look like you look for him to parlay that come September. Yeah. Because again, like those plays are going to be a huge indicator not only for Marv, but if this offense can take the next step. Can this offense have sustainable drives where they do not look lost on third and long? Can they convert instead of just succumbing to well third and 13, this drive’s over. Let’s let’s try not to turn the ball over. Let’s be safe. Let’s get about half of this and let’s punt the football. I I think that that’s you can make an argument the Cardinals need Marv there more than you know just the big explosives that we’re seeing at camp. Like I I know he can make one-handed catches and I know the contested catches last year were a little bit hit or miss but it’s it’s those pivotal like you mentioned it yesterday like Justin Jefferson rips the Cardinals heart out in the fourth quarter last year not with a a touchdown but a critical pass on fourth down to move the sticks to keep a drive alive. We need to see that. We need to see that cohesiveness when the we know like the Cardinals should be in a position to have two supremely gifted pass catchers that when they drafted Marvin Harrison Jr. and we projected the trajectory of Trey McBride that very few teams can match and they need to use that to their benefit this year. If everybody thinks Trey’s getting the football, you need to go to number 18 and then vice versa, go go back down to number 85. that that has to be and I think that’s a big point of frustration with this fan base and the offensive system is that we’re seeing now what Marvin Harrison Jr. is certainly capable of and you couple that with what Trey McBride has done to establish himself as what we feel like is the best tight end in the NFL. This passing game should be one of the most robust in the NFL. It should not feel like oh we have to check a box to get these guys targets. We have to check a box to make sure Trey McBride as an embarrassment to our scheme doesn’t have more than one touchdown going into the finale or Marvin Harrison Jr. can’t get double digit targets every week. Those things should not feel like a burden and it right now it doesn’t feel like they are right. Right. You shouldn’t have to force feed Marvin Harrison Jr. the football. I mean that it’s like hey eat your ice cream. It’s like tell me exactly. Yeah. It’s like, “Yeah, I’m going to get to it. It’s going to be the favorite part. It’s going to be the highlight.” And and that’s what Marvin Harrison Jr. absolutely can be and I think is is going to take a giant step in the right direction as far as that goes. Now we know, you know, what he’s up against. I mean, we had this in-depth conversation after the offense struggled first day of pads against the defense. And man, if if there was an encapsulation of what things could be, it was the first series for the offense today. Okay. Uh, day two of Pats, it it was there was an emphasis. I think there was a focus from Kyler Murray and crew to get out there and move the football. And he comes out and Kyler goes four for four and he hits on a on a big play to Trey McBride that maybe maybe Brock Bowers makes maybe I’m trying to think of another tight end that that does make that play. KD makes it, huh? You think KD? I don’t know if KD gets up like that. I I think KD makes a lot of great plays. I don’t I don’t know if he he if he can get up like Trey did. And then the following play, Marvin Harrison Jr., you know, had a had a catch that was nearly as incredible as yesterday’s where he’s he’s going out and he’s he’s high pointing the ball and and uh you know, going all out for it outstretched and pulling it to his serve. It was it was two plays back to back by your top playmakers that would snatch the soul out of an opposing defense. You took the word ability out of my mouth. This should be suffocating for defenses. This should be demoralizing. It should strike fear week one through week 17 for every defensive backs back seven that the Cardinals face that we need to put heat on the quarterback because otherwise they have athletic freak shows. It was like very similar to you and we talk about the 49ers demise three years ago, two years ago. That team was such a headache to play because it was McCaffrey out of the backfield and KD and Debo and Iuk and it just it overwhelmed teams. Certainly overwhelmed the Cardinals. McCaffrey had like five touchdowns two years ago against the Cardinals in Santa Clara. Like the Cardinals need to overwhelm and suffocate teams and it needs to be a point of a point of emphasis, not a team that doesn’t look like they’re buttoned up when they break the offensive huddle. And it’s like, well, what we’re sitting there, it’s like, what was that? Why did that look so difficult? What was the miscommunication there? Or go ahead. Or opposing defenses coordinators being like, “Thanks for doing that.” Yeah, you’re going to you’re going to go out there and you’re going to lean on 12 13 personnel and you’re going to run and you’re going to check down and you’re not going to force the issue with these unbelievable playmakers. Like, thank you. Where do I send the uh you know, where do I send flowers to? Where do I send that u you know, that gift basket to? Don’t lose without making sure that your best players have a have a part to bring you back. I don’t know what that famous saying is, but I if I’m going down, I’m going down with my best, right? How many times did it feel like that last year? I think Trey McBride most Sundays got involved, but I mean like the the Cardinals for whatever reason either couldn’t figure it out on the fly and now somebody went up to the offensive staff and just respectfully said, “We need to smarten up here. What are we doing? Like last year was not good enough. Clearly they were inept in the passing game against teams with a winning record after the buy. This by itself, like you don’t have to be Payton Manning and elevating, you know, Wes Welker or Julian Edelman and its precision and it’s 100 hours of film study. Like sure, you want those things. It should just be as cut and dry as we have two of the best passcatching players in the NFL. not receivers, tight ends, playmaking pass catchers that we can force feed the football. Like I I just I I don’t think you can overstate how well Marv is playing right now and how with Trey McBride that should be absolutely crippling for the west rest of the NFC West. Like look around the NFC West right now. Who has not a singular player who has a combination that can threaten that? Not the Seattle Seahawks. They got Jackson Smith and Jagba and Cooper Cup. Thanks for playing. Not San Francisco. Certainly not. George KD’s great. And then what? Jawan Jennings. No thanks. The best argument is the LA if guys if he stays healthy. I if he’s healthy is like cool. Did that cutting edge, you know, uh procedure in in Germany? Did that work that nobody’s really tried? But yeah, go ahead. And then the LA Rams, it’s like okay, I know you got a good I think they have that. I think they have it. But yeah, with with one big qualifier, old Matthew Stafford, who is a big question mark now, uh, is he gonna be available to get him the football? Because I don’t have the confidence that Jimmy G is going to be able to do that. Back you out of me. Sign him up for it. Not ready to play. I just But like Devonte Adams is old and you know, if we’re just talking pass catchers, put running backs off to the side. Cardinals should have the best like combination in the division. Debo and Iayuk is done. That’s over, right? Debo’s gone. Iayuk may never play again for San Francisco. The the Cardinals need to Cooper Cup’s on a different team. Puka Ne was hurt last year. Like this this has to be it. This is your path and this we we thought this was happening last year. This should be your path to to win the NFC West. Kyler Murray facilitating the football to 18 and 85 and building off of a defense that was 15th last year in points per game. That’s the recipe to win the division. With all due respect to the run game and to the Tip Rymans of the world and we’re going to talk about, you know, rotational receivers, this is your avenue. 1885 being facilitated by a playmaking quarterback that needs to be more consistent and a revamped defensive line and it you’re good enough. That should be good enough. I want to highlight this uh this little chat here. Uh Brian asking I think a fair question or Brandon I I apologize. Brandon Butterfield and and you guys are crushing it as always. Brandon Butterfield with this question. There was a lot of hype out of Mars camp last year. How is this your different? Genuine, not snarky question. I appreciate that. Um the difference is Marvin Harrison Jr. obviously you got to see fourth overall pick, the hype train that surrounded it, high expectations, and you got to see that flash in camp last year. The difference is this year Marvin Harrison Jr. is consistently winning on every rep that he’s taking this camp. It’s not and and and he’s getting into the rhythm of the offense where before it was a little herkyjerky, you could see that the relationship, the chemistry was trying to be built or established where that’s already been done here between him and Kyler Murray. I I think that there’s a distinct difference between Marv this year and last year. Thousand%. This isn’t a knock on Marv his game last year minus the the Rams game which did feel like an outlier. Like the Rams game happened, we thought this is how it’s going to be for the rest of the year. His game to me felt like a lot like his dad’s which was precision and toe taps over the shoulder catches, right? But the difference is he and and Kyler Murray didn’t have the Payton Manning Marvin Harrison senior connection. this year. He is a much more balanced, well-rounded receiver. Coming out of his breaks, looks incredibly explosive, much more powerful. Certainly much more powerful with the 50/50 ball coming down with it, as my co-host demonstrated yesterday with his video that went viral. And then even today, it’s like he he’s going up for back shoulder fades and, you know, herculean efforts, play m like he is he’s winning almost every rep. And again, what you’re not seeing on Twitter that if you go to State Farm Stadium as a fan that you will see is he will have a bunch of routine like touchdown catches dur during sevens and and 11 on 111. I mean, it just it is he is overwhelming the defense for the for the Cardinals and the Cardinals have great defensive backs and this is this is what we were pitched as a prospect 18 months ago. Yes, absolutely. No doubt about it. 100%. Uh those spectacular catches. We’re absolutely have those locked and loaded. Okay, Noah’s back. He is a whiz with the camera. He’s got some crystal clear video from camp today that we’ll get to here shortly. Wasn’t just Marv. It was Trey McBride. As I said, this this offense was able to bounce back after a really tough day yesterday. Johnny, let’s get all into all that here coming up next on PHX Cardinals. Do us a favor. Become a diehard today. Bo, do us a favor. give us a breakdown. Not specific to Marvin. We’ll put Marvin off to the side, which I don’t do. The rest of the the 52man roster eventually, how’d it look like? Who stood out to you training camp? Padded practice day two. Yeah, you saw the offensive line, I think, answer the bell after a rough day yesterday. Uh we saw Baron Browning just kind of run a muck against the starting offensive line, poor Jonah Williams. Uh today you saw a little bit more of a wall that was surrounding Kyler Murray, but then the ball was coming out quicker and you saw Kyler just spread it around. It wasn’t just Marv, it wasn’t just Trey, there was Greg Dorsch sprinkled in. I see a lot of Michael Wilson loving the chat and that’s uh that’s Ern. I mean he he was making some plays as well. So you saw Kyler kind of spreading the ball around. So first team offense looked good. But then there was some flashes of some defense red zone. our guy JT Jaylen Thompson coming up with a big pick in the red zone and saw some Max Meltton who I think is uh he’s he was already a competitive guy. He’s looking more is locked in as as he’s been in his short career so far. Made a big pick on in sevens today. And Will Johnson, man, we’re seeing a lot of Will Johnson on Marvin Harrison Jr. That’s in the indication of where he could be lining up for the most part to start the season. We saw a little bit via his YouTube cha page, which I encourage you to go check out yourself and subscribe to, but he’s watching film of top receivers, ex receivers, because I think that’s going to be his assignment right out of the gates because we’re seeing already happened in camp a lot. Let me ask you this. So, Will Johnson back running with the ones, do you sense that he’s becoming more comfortable in this role? Like do you feel like the beginning of camp like I there’s no there’s hasn’t been like a hesitation but like the more time obviously with that you spend with Buddha I’m sure because every time we see him he’s with number three he’s just gonna buy you know guilty by association I think his confidence is only going to continue to grow. Yeah. I I didn’t see I haven’t seen like that welcome to the NFL moment for Will Johnson moment. Yeah. Yeah. He he certainly doesn’t look timid at all. I mean, this this looks like a guy that’s just the the step from Michigan national tighter winner, you know, defensive player of the game in the title game. Um, frequent of the end zone on the defensive side of the football. It didn’t seem like it was that big of a step for him to hit the pro level. So, but we’ll see. I mean, look, it’s inevitable. It happens to everybody, the the best, the greats, guys that have bus in Canton. I’m not saying that’s in the future for Will Johnson. uh just yet, but they go through these these uh these learning curves and and sometimes you got to take your lumps and that’s going to happen. But at the same time, I I think early on he looks like a guy that that is is acclimating very well. Yeah. To me, he looked good and since then that I’ve been at camp, he looks better in the clips that I’ve seen even in like three or four days. And again, like I I think Stling Thomas was was making was going to make that an uncomfortable battle and and you want that, but at the same time, there’s also maybe some solace in knowing like this is my job. I’m not giving this up. Like I’m I’m going to take this and run with this and I have to perform now. My teammates need me to perform. We There is no parachute here with a Stling Thomas that started 22 games the last two years. And I think that the pressure makes diamond out of the best of them. And again, I look at Will Johnson and I I don’t want to put him on the same level of prospect as Marvin Harrison Jr., but he’s in that next tier like he was a guy who should have been anywhere between like 10 to 20 in the draft. That’s where we projected him. And then you watch him and you watch Marvin and it’s like finally the Cardinals are starting to incorporate some of these high-end prospects into their program. And it’s just been too long. I love Buddha Baker. Buddha Baker has been like the best player on the Cardinals for like 10 years. Yeah. As he’s approaching 30 years old as a safety. Like that that’s unacceptable team building, right? They have it’s it’s taken them forever to have these kind of players that are ascending that have these kind of training camps. You’re not stitching together the Rodney Hudsons with duct tape. It’s like, no, I’m going to go from year one to year two and see a pop from this guy. Walter Nolan hopefully this time next year is wreaking havoc on training camp like Darius Robinson is now. I mean that that’s how you have sustainable success in this league. So yeah, I’m I’m fired up. And you also know like they’re being coached by a guy right now that I feel like is in a position to contend for coach of the year and Jonathan Ganon. saw just a moment today near the end of practice where it was just Ganon walked over to Will Johnson, Denzel Burke, two young corners and was just talking about the game, talking about the ins and outs, just coaching, uh, teaching and then, you know, Burke exited the conversation and it was just JG and Will Johnson there still talking shop a little bit. It’s great to see, right? And then um you know I when he walks up to take his position across from Marvin Harrison Jr. it’s not like the scene from the water boy where they’re lining up for the onside kick and he’s trying to figure out who to kick it to and there’s the guy like shaking and trembling in his boots. Like there’s he even has a some swag to him as as he’s approaching the line of scrimmage and and that’s what you want to see from a guy like he played big boy football. That that’s why you and I have been pounding the table for so long because we watched prospect and drafty after drafty come in from non-competitive conference and the jump so large. When you’re playing in the Big 10, when you’re playing in the SEC, this it’s just not that big of an uphill climb to get to the NFL level and feel like you can compete one-on-one against all these big-time playmakers. Imagine that. guys who play against the best competition for 12 to 15 games every college football season are more prepared in a lot of cases to achieve at least mediocre status at the NFL level. It was my biggest argument when K was here was just like, can we just draft some Ohio State, Bama players just so like we we’re not cutting guys two years into the rookie deal and it always felt like let’s outsmart the room with Gramling State and UMass and all these guys. At the end of the day, Austin Ford’s not going to bat a thousand in the draft. But man, his picks have made just a ton of sense early. Uh I approve of all of them. I approve of the highlights that we’ve got right around the corner. I do want to dive into a conversation though with Bo right around the break. Baron Browning gets brought up a lot. Jonathan Ganon seems bullish on the returning pass rusher who’s been moved around. We’re going to give realistic expectations for he and Josh Schwe who by and large had a nice start to training camp. Drop a like. We got almost 400 watching live. It’s PHX Cardinals. Baron Browning, could he be on the rise? I’m going to tell you about our friends at Pure Edibles. They’re on the rise, too. Might have a special uh like total for the red and white postgame on Saturday, but today it’s it’s 500. You’ll get us there. Uh Bull Brock, you want to break down some some highlights here for PNX Cardinals faithful? Let’s get it going. This time shot by one Noah. Bring him up here, my man. Here’s the uh Marvin Harrison Jr. getting after it. Slow-mo laying out and bring this one down against Garrett Williams. Here he is. Uh little RVA there making a play. Kyler going to rip it downfield. This one goes to Trey McBride. Gets up and and brings it down. Trey always fired up. He’s going to make a catch here. Trey McBride uh early often as I said Greg Dorch got in mix today. There’s a little Christian Jones, some of the big offensive linemen there. Here’s some couple DBs. There’s Will Johnson. Uh warming up, getting ready. Agent zero, Subzero, zone zero, whatever you want to call it. That’s the JT pick right there. Did HC get tipped? I didn’t notice that initially, but uh Jaylen Thompson bringing it down. Baron Brown is having a great camp. Darius Robinson is just a a unbelievable specimen. This is him going against Isaiah Adams. Isaiah Adams had a couple good reps here against Darius Robinson uh in some one-on-one drills. Throws him to the turf here. I like that. Yeah, he loved the physicality. He loved the competitiveness. Oo, tip, baby. Tip Ryman in the highlights to cap us off somebody to the ground to me. I think that was a hold. Nice job, Noah. Fantastic highlights. Uh, real quick on Isaiah Adams. I There’s a lot of people right now that are pushing for this team to sign Will Hernandez. Are you going to sit Isaiah Adams? We know what Will Hernandez is. He’s a good good player. He’s coming off major knee surgery. You invest a top 90 pick in the I think he was drafted in the top 80. Yeah. And he looks good. What? Let’s not do the thing that we always do. It’s like, you know what? Let’s let’s block an ascending young player that could be an extension one day. And if your answer is, well, what about Evan Brown? Evan Brown played 17 games last year, was a good player, really good in pass protection. Like, they’re not signing Will Johnson. I It’s Hernandez. There were two takes yesterday that didn’t age well on the Twitter streets. Zav Collins is moving back to inside linebacker and Will Hernandez is going to be signed by the Cardinals. None of those things are happening. This show will tell you to straight. I love Will Hernandez. He’s was super nice to Bow and I. He’s a great guy. He’s going to get a nice contract. The Cardinals have two starting guards. What’s he going to do here? Yep. He He’s a guy that deserves a starting opportunity. It’s not here. You should You should want for the future success this organization, this team, for Isaiah Adams to have this this job and not relinquish it and not just have, well, we feel a little uneasy about it. We’re going to bring him in. One, it’s not fair to Adams. It’s certainly not fair to Will Hernandez. That’s not how the Arizona Cardinals organization operates any longer. Like it it’s just it’s silly and it creates kind of a log jam and you know if you got two guys you don’t have any. I think like like you said broke it down perfectly. We love Will Hernandez. He played great football for the team the best of his career here but the Cardinals they had his successor. It’s an unfortunate injury. They move on. Will you wish him the best wherever he goes? If if it somehow, which unexpectedly carries on, which I doubt it does because everybody’s looking for interior offensive line help, um then maybe you could talk about Will Hernandez and the Cardinals, you know, presenting a backup role. Um but yeah, it’s just it doesn’t make sense right now. The and then like the offball linebacker stuff for Zav Collins. I told you real quick. There are people in the chat saying they disagree with us on Will Hernandez. That’s totally fine. Yeah, totally fine. We We’re open for push back, but like why would I ask everybody ask yourself why if Will Hernandez has options to play? Will Hernandez is trying to get a contract to play this year so he can go into free agency and get a bigger contract. If he comes to the Arizona Cardinals, who is he playing over? Right. They’re not. He’s off a major knee surgery. Evan, like Evan Brown’s a better player right now, not coming off a major knee surgery. Isaiah Adams is younger right now. Again, I Jacob I know might be ahead of schedule right now. Will Hernandez was awesome. He blew out his knee. It’s just this is the that’s how the NFL works. He’ll go to a team that needs a guard right away and he’ll play for that team and then he’ll hopefully play well enough to get a a new deal in the offseason. He can’t. There’s just no room here unless somebody were to go down. All right. Zavan Collins ball and Zavan Collins Chad didn’t make much of it yesterday. Um there is a I guess a sect of the fan base that has always wanted him to go back to inside linebacker, off ball linebacker move back from the edge. Uh that’s not happening there. There’s never been any like discussion, never inkling like maybe we should have. No, he’s an off ball. He’s an outside linebacker. He’s an edge in this. He’s a pass rusher on the Cardinals under Jonathan Gan and Nick Rollis. Yeah. Uh was it Josh Weinfuss put it out there that he was uh started at inside linebacker yesterday’s practice. Wine followed up with JG today and resembled what I told you guys on this very show yesterday where it’s just like he’s a very versatile player. He he his primary position is outside linebacker, but sometimes to be multiple to be ver to to kind of divvy things up. they put he’ll he’ll be at offball linebacker, but his job his position is outside linebacker there. There’s no shift back whatsoever. And I think, you know, if you watched uh some of the film last year, you watched Cardinals game, you would probably find that that Xav Collins did that a little bit. He’s done that sparingly in the last two seasons. He couldn’t play in space consistently. And his best position is he’s a early down run defender and he’s really good at that. is one of the best via PFF. And like again, you just you got to contextualize the Cardinals are not getting and this is what I I promise all due respect, the Cardinals are not going to get a return on investment for the 16th overall pick with Collins. That doesn’t mean he can’t be here and contribute and be a good rotational player, but we’re going to talk about the two guys here in a second that have a better chance to impact and disrupt on passing downs. And it’s not Collins. And just wa watch with your eyes M. Wilson especially and Cody Simon move. Zavan Collins doesn’t move like that. First of all, he’s much bigger than them. He he he does well crashing down at the line of scrimmage. He’s a tremendous run defender. He’s going to have a probably a 10-year NFL career. And you he should get all the credit because he stuck around and he was one of the few through the Coler that got to stick around and got another contract. But it’s like the comment I make about Kyler Murray. You have to separate franchise saver first overall pick and Zen Collins 16th overall pick to what the a new regime is opting to do with him. Now, I still think Kyler Murray can be a franchise is a franchise quarterback, can be a top quarterback, but Zan is going to be deployed like he was last year and the year before, right? Think about I want you to think about all these players because they are all versatile pieces in their own right. Garrett Williams will kick outside a little bit more this year. His primary position is slot corner for the Arizona Cardinals. Mhm. Saving Collins outside linebacker edge. He could go off ball linebacker, but he is an edge. Baron Browning could kick inside, could play, you know, stand up off ball linebacker at times, but he’s primarily an edge outside linebacker. M. Wilson, off ball, could come off the edge. Darius Robinson, defensive lineman, could kick out to the edge. They want versatile players on defense. Sure, they got their guys that are they they’ve got their assignments. their their definitive roles, but then they’ve got a lot of guys that they can move around because they like to do that to throw opposing offenses off their game. Yeah. So, again, excited to watch Zavven see his maturation process this year, but the two showstoppers at pass rusher, Joshu and then Baron Browning, who I’ve been skeptical of, um, but I’ll give him immense credit. came back to the Cardinals this off seasonason, signed a modest two-year deal. I thought, okay, get him into camp, see what he can do. He has looked great. As Bo mentioned during the highlight package, Sweat’s looked good. We knew Sweat would look good. Baron Browning has looked very good. And again, Baron Browning has always done a nice job. These reps from yesterday while you talk about it. Yeah, let’s take a look at him. Like, he’s always generated pressure. You can see him there giving the business to Jonah Williams. I mean, that’s that’s a sack in a game. Then you look at this play here coming up the same side. Beats him again. Forces Kyler Murray to step up in the pocket. Has to run with it. I mean, he he whooped Jonah Williams twice in two plays in this highlight package. And then Paris does a little bit better job, but still collapsing the pocket. Sweat’s on the opposite side there against Jonah Williams. That’s probably a sack by Sweat. I think Sweat gets home on that one. Yeah. So, I mean, not not a good omen for Jonah. Jonah’s, you know, come back from injury. But I I think the argument we made this off season for that resigning was number one, you did not know if you were going to get a Mel Williams in the draft. Guess what? They didn’t, right? With all due respect to Jordan Burch, wasn’t a player in the first or second round that they felt was worthy. Certainly not over Will Johnson the second round, but c Walter Nolan over every available pass rusher. Hello, Shamar Stewart. And then you think about getting him into camp, letting him work with the new defensive line coach, pass rush specialist coach, and giving them an opportunity to not have to save the defensive line, the pass rush. Hey, Baron Browning, suddenly this, and this is a compliment. It’s like, you don’t have to be the best player. You could be the worst player on the defensive line with Darius and Kas and Josh Schwe and some of these guys. Hopefully, Walter Nolan, Ser, you don’t you don’t have to save this defensive line. go out and just do your job and contribute. So I I am willing to eat all the crow I want to eat the crow. I want him to come into this year and get eight to 10 sacks after last year. We were critical of this move at the deadline. Yeah. The the receipts that are being presented, you know, brought back, I saw a couple of them today when I posted that clip. It’s like some people didn’t want didn’t like the Baron Browning trait. That remains to be true. You you can like Baron Browning going into his second season with the Cardinals and not have liked when the Arizona Cardinals were a team that was on the rise last year and contending in the NFC West for them to go out and acquire a guy for a six round pick with no sacks and and a guy that that didn’t provide that much more production afterwards. But then to have him in your system and then have high aspirations for him, you can have that can exist as well. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, like, we didn’t like the trade. It was underwhelming. And he came here and was a rotational guy and and guess what? Like I think to Chris’s point, getting him to seven sacks, that’s probably where I would put Yeah. his ceiling this year. Well, it’s like we we had talked about and you start the band like who is available and you got Aziz Ojelari which you know it turns out to be turned out to be a a great unanswered prayer request whatever for the Cardinals. Ojelari got hurt right after you know the deadline but he was a guy that had six sacks at that point. You saw the production you could point to it with Baron Browning. You had to go to these analytics. you had to look at like, oh, he’s a pressure machine, but it’s like you you couldn’t really like say this is how he’s going to impact the game where Oelari was a little bit easier. So, we had our sights a little bit higher. I don’t know why people are like, “Well, you were disappointed. So, that means you’re completely out on it and you can’t ever talk about Baron Browning in a positive light. You’re a fraud and you’re a hypocrite.” Are people saying that? Yikes. Yeah. I don’t I mean like I Let’s listen to Jonathan Ganon talk about Baron Browning violence in the run game, the ability to win in the pass game, versatility, and and getting towards really no one has mastery of the system besides Nick, but I shouldn’t say that, the coaches do, but uh he’s he’s functioning at a high level with schematic execution. functioning at a high level in schematic execution. That’s what you want to hear, right? I mean, I love anybody say that about me. Uh, just put butterflies in my stomach. We say the opposite about you, but not not to your face. He’s failing in schematic execution. Yeah, it’s it means he’s got it going between the ears like cerebral player like it’s it’s not like it the physical skill set athleticism it’s showing up and it’s matching with uh you know his head and that’s great like that that’s what you need for a guy uh to understand it so he can go out there and play play fast. I I I I think he’s going to have a nice year with this team. I think that everything is trending in that direction. He does not have competition in the form of Bjo Gelari yet. He’s not practicing. Jordan Burch is I think out of the first four picks for the Cardinals really the only kind of true not red shirt player but like backup. He’s going to be a backup this year at least and unless he takes a huge jump and I’m rooting for that. Excited to watch him in the preseason. It’s all there for BG for Baron Browning because he’s got sweat with the pressure on the other side with the big contract and Baron Browning knows this team could cut him next off season or not and they could add their version of Mel Williams or or somebody else in the first round of the draft, right? That’s still position that we feel like if this group underperforms like go and get a pass rusher. So, I’m bullish on this group specifically Sweaty Jay. Here’s JG on the prized pass rusher that was added in free agency. Yeah. He came up to me after the first fast day. He says, “We got some good tackles, huh?” I said, “Yeah, we do.” Uh, he’s doing well. He uh he’s uh he’s got to keep coming along with some of the new wrinkles that we’ve we have here. Um but, uh when he knows what to do and he’s you know, he’s smart. I’m not saying that, but he’s still, you know, coming along with some of the different things that we do. But, uh, he can set edges and he can rush. I know that. The one thing I think is overlooked about Josh Sweat is his size. He’s he’s a big dude. Like, he’s he’s tall. He’s not like, you know, big like Darius. But, no, but remember we were standing on the sideline and I’m like, remember when we thought in 2023 because it’s respectfully like all we had. Zavan Collins was like the biggest player on the team. Yeah, is is bigger than Zaven Collins. Yeah, you had like, you know, Dennis Gard and, you know, to steal from my coast. All due respect, like this is a guy that was that scratched and clawed for everything he he won. It was a special teamer, right? Love the heart. Love the heart. Heart, soul, but love the passion. He passionate kid. This is a guy at Florida State, blue chipper. Uh, you know, fourth round pick and and Super Bowl champion now. double digit sacks in the NFL in a season. So, I like that that you got to get excited. You finally got one of those guys in your on your defense. Aziey’s right. Jordan Burch is huge as well. He almost looks like a defensive tackle. He’s so big. He’s enor um this this pos like who can be like the traditional speed rusher I think is up for debate, but I’ll pose this question before we go to break to my co-host here. Over under 15 and a half sacks for the duo of Sweat and Baron Browning. And considering Baron Browning had what, two sacks last year? 15 and a half over under. I like what I’ve seen from from Browning, right? It’s just statistically he’s never he’s never been there. I think he’s he’s capable of of doing that. But what we’re asking right now, Sweat would have to carry the that load pretty heavily. Um I I think it’s reasonable pro probably sweat it out. People are saying over over over. I love the confidence. I mean like I think sweat gets to 10 sacks. So you’re then saying can Baron Browning get to 16 or six sacks on his own? Yeah. Might be a push. Might be like right at that. I gota see Baron Browning do it in games. You you also need it to supplement like you need guys. You need more than that, right? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. For sure. Yeah. That’s not the end all be all. Zav will have a couple. Darius will I think Darius will have like six or seven, maybe more. I mean like Kas will have a few. Like they they’ll be eating good in the sack department. We’re eating good right around the corner. Your super chats and more. It’s PHX Cardinals. Yeah, go to the website, reserve your spot. You’ll be good to go. Free entry Thursday, August 28th. Um, yeah, fired up. Uh, for this weekend, too, by the way, if you’re going to be out at the red and white scrimmage, tell Bo and I say what’s up. Um, fired up about Jonathan Ganon talking about the physicality of camp. Bo, you mentioned it two days in a row of padded practice. I guess that’s like the first time Ganon’s ever done that. Let’s hear from from JG and then kind of debrief what this could mean for the team. Good. They were good. They they protected their teammates. So there’s a lot of times, you know, um, you know, in practice, I don’t want them to make certain decisions, um, for the safety of everybody. Um, so they got to have some wherewithal to make sure that they pull off where in a game it’s like, okay, hey, you’re going to go through that guy’s face or his back or whatever, but in practice, I don’t want them doing that. Um, we don’t have one guy in the defensive backfield that’s scared or a coward or doesn’t want to play with his pads. So, I feel good about that. Love that. Yeah, we don’t have one guy in our defensive secondary that’s that’s afraid to hit somebody, hit the crap out of them. Yeah, that was a question I had asked JG specifically about the defensive backs because like when you think about the pads going on, you think about the guys in the trenches, you think offensive line, defensive line, but you know, you’re out there and like Will Johnson, you want to know how he’s handling um you know, some a big body receiver like Marv or getting in uh some traffic there and and JG said, you know, they handle themselves well, but also I’m sure this is mostly aimed towards Buddha Baker. Don’t just go run through somebody. That’s your teammate. So, what do you think the legitimacy is that that they’re cranking up the intensity maybe for the first time like this under Ganon? Two padded practices in a row where they would usually do an on day and an off day. Do you think that’s an effort to start faster this year with the physicality? Do you is that a sign that maybe they’re going to play a little bit in the preseason? I know Ganon was asked and kind of deflected the question. Didn’t need a firm commitment. I I I love when coaches change things up and it’s just like, hey, we didn’t make the playoffs last year. We want to start faster. What was their record at one point? One and three. And I know they they played some tough teams early on, Buffalo and and Washington in particular and the Lions. But for me, it’s like, okay, this shows growth that we’re just not going to continue to do the same thing just because we’re going to take the data, we’re going to take the information that we got and we’re going to pivot if we need to. Yeah. And I think that’s most of it, right? It’s being willing to critically look at your process and say, “Hey, did it work last year if it wasn’t a full-on success? Well, what what stands in our way of tweaking this thing?” And it seems like that’s how it’s set up. And I I know that it is it is something that they take a tremendous amount of time and and and emphasize the flow of practice where they’ve ident snack mix in my throat. um that that they you know the three days in a row, three days on and the the tempos, high tempo, low tempo, and then when they do padded practices and physical practices like that that’s all very calculated. So they must have figured this out and said that’s that’s what we want to do. I love it. And again, like I saying it out loud, I mean this team opened last year. Detroit Rams uh or excuse me Buffalo Rams Detroit Washington. I mean that that’s insane. It’s I mean it’s pretty nuts in context that they finished basically almost 500 after that gauntlet of of those contending teams. So uh we shall see. He also JG talked about Darius Robinson. I think this is important. We talk about year two pop Marvin Harrison Jr. What about the defensive line out of Missouri? Here’s JG. Yeah, he’s doing well. You know, we’re moving him around a little bit. Um, you know, he’s another one that’s he’s tough on himself, man. But, uh, he’s he works to get better every day. You know, he’s into his craft like no other. And, um, he’s he’s making some plays and he’s also missing some plays, too. You know, he’ll tell you that. So, it’s just day by day get a little bit better. You know, he’s very mindful and cognizant. Um, he sets intention every day what he’s looking to get better at. Whether it’s his stance or his first step or his hands or his pad level or his A to B rush or B to A rush or playing four I or three two I, he’s got it all, you know, but uh he just kind of picks one or two things a day and gets better at them and you see him show up, you know what I mean? You really do. So that’s cool to see because I know he’s getting better. You think the game has slowed down for him a little bit? Uh yeah, I think he’s getting it to his technique quicker and more consistently. So if that means the game slowing down probably, you know, Cam, love that. Love going into overtime here on PHNX Cardinals on a Tuesday. Is it getting too sad? Is it too like two two guys at our age just making sound effects? No, I think if we stopped doing it, people would be upset. I think I honestly think that uh Ganon I mean I’m pretty encouraged by Darius and then I also makes me feel good that Isaiah Adams had a couple good reps against him. But I just if if we had to look at if you had to like make a prediction right now of two guys, one on each side of the ball that was going to pop this year, wouldn’t it be Marvin Darius? And isn’t isn’t that exactly what you needed? What did we like it? With all due respect, uh, let’s put some people out from last year’s class, Trey Benson and Taylor Demerson, right? What if they were having a great camp? They weren’t taken in the first round and they don’t play premium positions, running back and safety, and they’re in a crowd of position groups. You needed you need Marvin Darius to be able to get where you want to be. So, I again, we’re a weekend. I think we’re looking at best case scenario right now. It’s it’s it’s going exactly the way it needs to be. Yeah, they they are key cogs as far as it concerned as far as the success of this team in 2025. Yeah, absolutely. Uh we’re going to get to your super chats again. Get us to 500 likes. Smash that like button. We’re going to kick things off with our guy Shaft. $10. The return of Shaft doesn’t mean your super chats are gone. We appreciate you, my guy. I don’t know if it’s just me, but Marv looks a step faster this season. Marv is catching just about everything thrown his way. He did have one stripped away today and he looked mad at himself. He’s a stud. Absolutely. And I think there’s a stupid narrative just like Kyler Murray can’t throw the deep ball. There’s a narrative out there that Marv can’t separate. I think that you’re going to see him be able to separate better, but that didn’t mean he couldn’t separate. Last year he had nine touchdowns. You can’t fluke your way into nine touchdowns. So like is he is he a straight line burner at six foot like Malik Neighbors? He is not. And Malik Neighbors is I mean he’s a special player but I think Marv again I think his game translates to like Mike Evans, Julio Jones, AJ Green as he continues to refine his game and I think we’re going to see some explosives this year where it’s like Marv breaks free and catches like a 50 yard bomb. Absolutely. Yeah. Yeah. More I think more consistent explosives on on a week- toeek basis. That that’s what people are looking for. I mean we saw the 66 yard touchdown in week two. It was great. It was electric, but you wanted to see like him big plays, you know, what what’s considered a big downfield play, big pla pass play, 25 yards or more more often uh with with Marv. But yeah, it’s some some great observation there from from Shaft and uh it would be huge for the Cardinals offense if he does take the step that everybody anticipates him taking. Trevor Beay, this one’s for Johnny a little bit. Just got back from Disneyland for three days. Had a blast, Johnny. I had blue milk for you. Cheers. Sported my McBride shirt out there. Got compliments. Nice. Wonder what McBride shirt he’s he sported. Love that. Uh, love the blue milk. It’s uh, it’s pricey. It comes in about the size of pricey. What do you mean pricey? Well, it’s like I was going to break it down for you. You remember JJ Watt doing the 999 with those cups and we’re like those aren’t real cups for beer. That’s what they serve like the blue milk in. It’s 10 like 10 bucks for one of those cups. So yeah, it’s pricey but it’s good. It’s just it’s just milk with food coloring in it. No, it’s not actual milk. They’re not serving like milk to people walking around when it’s 100 degrees at Disney. It’s like a like a slushie. Like a slushie. Ah, okay. Yeah, I was not smoothie. No, it’s it’s sweet like a slushie. Maybe the consistency is closer to the smoothie, but like in the OG original the stuff that like Sorry to be a nerd here. Yeah. Yeah. When Luke is at home on Tatooie. Yeah. And he’s with his family. Excellent. Before they’re massacred, right? Yeah. uh they’re, you know, eating dinner and uh they pour the the the drink and it’s the blue that looks like just blue milk that in the film likely was milk with food coloring, but what they serve at the Disney parks all day is likely not canon for my taste. They’re not taking like 2% gallon milks and just not canon for me. Let’s stick to this. Let’s stick to the source material, guys. ruining everything I love and I don’t appreciate it. Um, did you know I knew that much about Luke Skywalker and his or I feel like I feel like Damon and I consume enough Star Wars content that it’s rubbed off on you. Yes, 100%. 100%. That was me hearkening back to like when I was 11 and watching that show film a RG6285 $2. Chef, I want to be part of the fantasy league. Oh, perfect. Let’s get it going. We got to get Shaft in the Discord so he can do a proper roll call, but uh I know Shaft’s been putting his contact information out. One step at a time, baby. Yeah, we’re going to get it. We’re gonna get figured out. He’s back in the chat and and he’s going to be back. He’s going to get in the Discord. Here’s what we should do is he should just come to the live PHNX fantasy draft and then hold the Die Hard fantasy draft simultaneously. I think that’s a great idea. That should be like maybe our show, our 4:30 show or our six o’clock show. It it should be the setting for that that draft. No doubt about it. I have such good ideas. Bees $5. Great practice today. MHJ McBride dunking on DBs. Sawbo holding court on the red carpet. Was too intimidated to say hi. Star power and all. How about that? Bo, were you like hobnobbing? Are you approachable? Do you feel like uh yeah, I feel like I’m very approachable actually. Like if if people want to say hi more often, I will I would love to talk to to more and more viewers, listeners of the show. I’m not Noah would love to talk to you as well. That’s not true. I’m kidding. Uh, now we encourage you instead of saying hi to me or Johnny on Thursday when we’re all out there, say hi to Noah. You won’t recognize Noah, Johnny. You gota got cleaned up. You got off the flow. Yeah. He doesn’t look like uh Shaggy do anymore. Did you shave your your stash, Noah? No. Jesus. Spectacular. It’s It’s a special thing. David $ five dollar bees. As long as your name ain’t Bo, he’s friendly. Bow on bow crime. Football is upon us. Rejoice. Bicks, I think is what he ah got it. Okay. All right. Um who I think will regress this year. No. Did you see people went after Nick Wright? So Nick Wright went on with Mina Kimes. He basically said that he thinks three teams from the AFC West make the playoffs and the team that’s left out is Denver. And people are like this is like people acted like it was like sacrilegious. Like it was like the worst thing anybody’s ever said. I’m like I could see that. I I don’t think the Broncos are good. And their schedule last year it was like preschool schedule. They didn’t play they played like 20 backups. Let me simplify it for everybody. Yeah. Not just our our audience. They’re they’re smart. They actually don’t need it simplified. But for everybody else, CJ Stroud is a much better quarterback than Bo Knicks. CJ Stout took a significant step back in his year two. Bonick’s fully capable of not playing well in his sophomore season. That’s I just and they’re not gonna sneak up on anybody. I I think Shawn Payeyton’s a great coach, obviously. It’s why we wanted him here. But like people acting like they have a top roster. I don’t think they have very good players. I think they got average players. Yeah, there is going to be some stagnant offense that people are going to be, I guess, be blindsided by. It’s It’s just they they’ve got a great defense, but it’s going to have to do still some more heavy lifting. No more uh cupcake schedule. No more Jake Paul fight uh schedule for them any longer. That’s right. It’s Mike Tyson out there. His butt cheeks out. Tony B499. Another great show. Excited for the season. Might have to go to the event on the 28th. There’s no might about it. Tony will be there. We will see you there. Get yourself there, Tony. We’re gonna have wings. We’re gonna have apps. We’re gonna have nachos. couple bruswkis maybe we’re gonna have this I I I told my wife today I’m like I’m not gonna be around the 28th she’s like why and I said you know what don’t worry about it and then I was sent to my room didn’t end well for me but no we’re fired up about it is like the best it’s yeah it’s like I’m going to stay at my mother’s uh keeping it going taco $4.99 who’s popped under the radar so far can’t wait for all the watch parties with all my best friends. Who has popped under the radar so far? Feel like we’ve given you a few already. No. Um, let’s see. I I mean, is M. Wilson, is he not under the radar enough? What do you got? Greg Dorch. Gregor today. Yeah. Xavier Weaver looks good every time I watch him. I think he’s gonna Xavier Weave will probably make the team, won’t he? Fifth receiver behind Dorch and Z Jones. Um, I mean, I’ll tell you who looks good. Again, I said this on Friday’s show, Sunday’s show. Dante Sills looks good. They’re not getting rid of Dante Sills. He looks really good. And I think he knows like it’s something like you’re a sixrounder. You’re you’re already kind of forgotten. And then you play a ton the first two years because the the rest of the group either gets hurt or they’re not any good. and then the team still brings in a bunch of guys that you talk about a guy with probably a huge chip on his shoulder. He just shows up every day and and competes. So, um yeah, I would go I would probably go Dante Stills even though he probably hates me. This is healing. The show is healing. Uh we’re going to mend that uh men that fence. How about uh what is it? Darth Vader with an eight. Uh throw me off a little bit. Sorry, Johnny. I will be at the Diamondbacks game on August 9th dressed as Darth Vader. Let’s go. I’m assuming that’s Star Wars night at the Dbacks game. If it’s not, I would think that’s even cooler. Just showing up to a baseball game in full Star Wars decor. Have you ever uh cosplayed as um Star Wars? The most I’ve ever done is at my kids school one year in Maricopa. I wore my Stormtrooper helmet and it was a big hit during Halloween. It was like a Halloween thing. But no, I have never cosplayed. I’m too like what would I cosplay as as I’m sure our guy here is like can fill out the suit. What what would I wear? What could I wear that would be like hey screen accurate Boba Fett. Oh Bob wasn’t 56. Get out of here. He was un nobody’s gonna Nobody’s gonna say it. Nobody should say it. Ewok. No. No. No. That is hurtful. That is I wasn’t even gonna say that. I thought because you’re so wise. I thought because you’re so wise you could be uh you could do a Yoda. I could be a Yoda. Like people are like, “How short are you, Johnny?” I’m like just below regular height. I’m slightly below average. I was tweeting out something. So full context, when we’re at training camp, we get the privilege of being on the sideline. We can rip clips and we do our best. when they do team, the defense is always on the side that we’re on and it’s hard to see over people. That’s why like Bo and like Tyler Drake, they get these good angles because they’re taller and they can elbow their way through. Like I just basically succumb to like I’m this is not going to work out. It’s like, oh, what’d you get for team? Because I’m not gonna be able to see anything. So you just sit on the sideline cross-legged just waiting for your my time to shine. I don’t know if I’ve ever had a usable clip during team. It’s like I I’m just I’m gonna watch this for me. The internet doesn’t need this. Somebody somebody I did see somebody say or ask Ke Clark. Uh I I don’t know if I don’t think Kro Clark had a good day today. Um but I I’m I’m not convinced that Keroll Clark it’s it’s his job to to win. Uh he does make the team. I think he could certainly make the team. He he benefits from Stling Thomas, but I I don’t know if he’s a guy that you can have play significant snaps. I think there’s just challenges as far as the size, the length with Krell. They probably want what they have at receiver. They want big guys. They want guys that fit. Max Melton and Will Johnson are over six foot. No Jawa, but you’re getting closer. Jawas are a little bit bigger. Who were J what were Jawas? So, in the first Star Wars, they’re the ones on Tatooine, which you got correct earlier, that pick up R2-D2 and 3CPO C3PO at uh when they crash their pod and then they get taken and sold to Luke and Owen and Amperoo. They’re they’re native to Tatooine. I think they’re small. You’re right. Don’t just be saying that. No. Bruce Wayne with a 199. Will Johnny call the Rams dead again this year? First of all, tell you they were one and4 and looked awful and they had like a 10% chance to make the playoffs and the Cardinals had the it was right there for the Cardinals to win. I mean, the I think the Rams are going to be a playoff team this year. I think the 49ers are a huge fraud and I need the Cardinals and the rest of the division to step on their throats and I have immense amount of respect for what the Seahawks did last year in the last 10 years. The Rams were dead though, Bruce. The Cardinals brought them back to life because they stunk it up in the second half. They gave them the avenue to take take the division. They wanted it more and they took it. So, but I will never apologize for my takes. The Cardinals destroyed them in week two and they were they were a dead team five weeks in. They were not projected by any any stretch of the imagination to be a playoff team. Great questions by everybody. Great super chats. Chat’s been on fire all day. Uh, per usual. It’s been a great show. It’s been great having Noah back getting these fantastic highlights. Let’s watch the Marv catch one more time. I mean, Will Johnson tweeted out last night like iron sharpens iron. I think that there’s a lot of truth to that. It’s like playing against Gar Garrett Williams and Will Johnson make Marvel a lot better. Just like Paris will get made better by playing against Josh Sweat. I mean, it’s just competition makes this team much better. the the body control on that is just absurd. Like he he’s got to take obviously steps just to be a consistently productive receiver, but like the next step would be like can anybody guard him? Is if Kyler’s putting the ball where it needs to be and he’s playing within the confines of the offense, I’m going to tell you right now that Marvin Harrison Jr. is going to have like a Hopkins 2020 kind of year where it’s like 1400 yards. So I predicted like 1250 to,300. I might have to revisit that. Where are you at? Are you in are you in a position where you think it could be? I think he can I think he can get realistically north of 1200. I think that’s fair. And then anything beyond that you’re getting back into hey, let’s let’s let him have a good couple. Let’s let him string together backtoback weeks in three weeks, four weeks of consistent ball. You also know that this team still runs a very specific offense. If like if they’re winning in the second half, guess what they’re not going to do? Throw, right? So, uh, as much as I would love it, stat stat pad it, baby. Uh, like this video. We got 360 watching. We appreciate everybody. Become a diehard. Tag us on social media. Become a diehard. Uh, we got Jenga man jumping in. Yeah. Word on the street is if Tip sees JV in a top hat every time he looks across the line of scrimmage so he can fuel some vicious blocks. The best is like Damon saw Tip Ryman at like the outlet malls and like brought up our show to tip and like at least Tip was being genuine. Had no idea who we were. So, it’s a little bit humbling. Um, so I I’d like to think Tip just doesn’t know about our show and can just focus on on the work. Time to do the work. Yeah. Whatever fuels your ability to say and be as critical as you’ve been. That’s fine. Unbelievable show. Make sure you subscribe to PHX Sports here on YouTube. Following along on Twitter, Instagram, PHNX_Cardinals. Got another one. Johnny would have been my stormtrooper, but I wouldn’t want somebody saying, “You’re too short to be a stormtrooper.” Yeah. Famous lines spoken by whom in a new hope? Who said that? Oh, that’s okay. Nailed it. Nailed it. Darth Vader. Nailed it. Chris saying Tip’s not watching. He’s not watching. No. No. He’s got better things to do. He’s doing pottery, reading books. Is he doing pottery? He’s a pottery guy. Oh, and he likes birds, right? No, he he think he joked that birds don’t exist or not real. That was that was an interesting time uh when that story was going around, man. No show tomorrow. No show. Wow. But um should we do a little uh we’ll have a maybe video on demand ready for everybody tomorrow. Is that fair? Yes, we’ll drop it at 4:30. Okay, perfect. So, stick around. Make sure same bat time 4:30. We’ll have some uh content coming your way at Peruge. But in the meantime, enjoy the rest of your Tuesday. Have a great Wednesday. We’ll talk to you 4:30 on Thursday after another big day cards camp right here on PHX Cardinals.

  1. I’ll hold the excitement until we take that next step on the field as a unit. I’m definitely excited for what Marv and Trey project and there is a lot to be optimistic for.

  2. Any one notice that Gannon and Aaron Rodgers sound just like each other. Minus the condescending tone. But can’t wait for Cards to shut all the naysayers up this year.
