Rookie Mike Green Is Impressing Even More in Pads | Baltimore Ravens Final Drive

Tuesday’s training camp practice for the Ravens was the second day in pads. Something the Ravens defense relishes. Perhaps no one more so than rookie outside linebacker Mike Green. After the draft, head coach John Harbaugh said that Green was a player who would come in and make a mark immediately. Green has been itching to get in pads as the physicality ramps up this week. I think finally coming out here, being able to put on the pads, um I I’ve been able to um at least show u what what I have um what I’m capable of doing, you know, when it comes down to like power rushing and uh setting the edge and things like that. Pass rush coach Chuck Smith is pleased with the early showings from Green in camp and attributes it to their preparation this off season, saying Green hasn’t been overwhelmed in camp because of the work they did throughout the off season. What I like most about Mike, he just gives great effort. you know, when you think of some of the great players around the league, what defines them is great effort, and that that may helps you make a lot of plays within itself, you know, he has a great grasp of the defense. Matt Robinson’s done a fantastic job teaching him in coverage and things like that. And uh he you know, when we talk about pass rush, you know, Mike is all in. And um you know, Mike Mike is everything he was advertised to be. And I think the fans are going to like what they see. teammate Adaf Ooway coming off a 10 sack season has been impressed by the rookie, especially in pads. Yeah, now he’s a dog. Um gets after and you know, he turned it on even more when he had the uh when he had the pads on. So um yeah, he’s good. Um twitchy guy. Um you know, just puts his head down and works. Um picks up things fast, does things within the defense. Um you know, what he’s told to do and stills, you know, makes makes flashy plays and he’s physical, so you know, the sky’s is the limit for him. The work for Green continues as he continues to familiarize himself with the Ravens defense. But with Oaya and Kyle Vanoi coming off double-digit sack years, Nambdi Matabke a top talent in the league, Tavius Robinson ascending, the addition of Green, and more. This Ravens defense looks primed to be a top the stat sheet and sacks once again. One more thing before I go, want to remind you that Wired returns Wednesday night at 8:00 p.m. So mark your calendars. Thanks for watching. And we’ll be back with you tomorrow. [Music] [Music]
