Rockies vs. Guardians Game Highlights (7/29/25) | MLB Highlights
Good evening once again everyone. Welcome back to Progressive Field downtown Cleveland. Guardians and Rockies getting ready for game two of this threeame set. Well, let’s take a look at Logan Allen who will be making the start tonight. He’ll be making his 20th start. Leading off for the Rockies tonight will be Tyler Freeman. Chopper up the middle. Rochio the second baseman the night makes the play for route number one Ezekiel Tovar he’s in the lineup hitting in the two hole ground ball to short had to back up on it got there in a hurry two down here’s Hunter Goodman two down the right-handed hitting catcher kicks delivers and the pitch swung on a bloop job into center coming in makes the catch how about that nine pitch inning for Logan Allen Rockies going order Well, Tanner Gordon, a young right-hander, is on the hill for the Colorado Rockies. Steven Quad, two for five last night with a run score. Will lead it off. Walks the first hitter. He sees a steel threat. 11 out of 13. Daniel Steman smashed up the middle and through. Quan will hit the bag and turn and burn. He’s going to third. He’ll make it without a throw. Steman with a base hit. And the Guardians have runners in the corners with nobody out. Here’s Jose Ramirez. Switcher batting left-handed and he pops one up. This is on the infield near second. Tovar the shorts stop retires Ramirez. Keeps the runners at the corners. Kyle Manzardo hitting cleanup. He’s at first base tonight. Strike three at the knees. No question. And that’s a big second out for Tatter Gordon. Now, this has been an ongoing problem for Cleveland this year. The team hitting just 235 with men in scoring position. Runner goes. Pitch up and in. Fake throw to second. Second and third. Two down. No score in the first. And the 1-1. Ripped on one hop. Off the glove of Tovar Short into left field. A two-run single. Quan and Schnean scores. And a clutch. Two out. Rip job off the glove of Tovar short into left. And Aras with 34 RBI’s. And that’s what this club needs based on everything they’ve gone through. First walk issued by Allen. warming Burnable two home runs in his first three major league games. Swung on, popped him up. Shallow right. Rochio out the second baseman retires. No, he let it drop. Picks it up and shallow right throws to second. That’ll be a force. Guess they’d rather have Bernabal who’s not as quick as Beck. This ball’s lined to left. Base hit for Doyle and Burnabel will stop at second. Runner goes B. No, I beg your pardon. Throw to third. Ramirez tags out Bernabel. Bernabel kind of hesitated, took off for third and looking Allen stepped off the mount, just lobbed it to third. It was kind of like really, you’re going Tanner Gordon down two to nothing against the Guardians. And his first pitch is line to right. A base hit by David Fry. Catcher Bone Naylor with a big pinch head homer last night. Now the 2-1 and he fell stumbling off the mount. a b as Gordon didn’t deliver the baseball coming to the plate. He stumbled off the mound, held on to the ball, almost fell down. And David Fry is given second base on the B. There it is. Brian Rochio one for three last night with a run scored. This play a chance. It’s going to drop. Fry runs around third. Beck’s throw to the plate. Not in time. They didn’t pick up the ball cleanly and Fry just kept on chugging. Bottom of the third inning, Jose Ramirez will lead it off. Oh yeah, right field and it will get down for a base hit. Well, we have seen it time and again in baseball when it looks its darkest some way somehow clubs that play with a kind of effort like Cleveland find a silver lining. That’s what they’re trying to do now. Manardo rocks one deep right center field. Going, going, gone. A better elixir in baseball than a big start to a ball game. And Cleveland’s had it here tonight in the first three innings. That’s hammered to deep right field. Freeman chasing. He won’t get it. And one hops the wall. Jones on his way to second. The throw is a good one, but Nolan Jones head first in there with his 11th double of the year. Tanner Gordon’s ready. Here is pitch number 60. And he throws instead to second. Throws it into center field. On his way to third, Nolan Jones. And another Colorado error. Taylor walks. Two down, runners at the corners. Five nothing Cleveland. And the seventh man to bat will be Brian Rochio. Right field. Free at bat on the track. He’s out of room and it’s off the wall. Jones scores. Bo Naylor scores. Roio racing for third and he’s in there safely with a two out, two-run triple. Seven nothing Guardian. It’s another spinner and he smokes it. Yeah, it’s a slider. He speeds his bat up and he stayed down on it and he drives it off the wall in right field. It’ll be his first triple of the year. Jordan to walk in the second inning. This ball in the air to deep right center field going back is Jones and it’s going to get out. Jordan Beck with his 12th home run of the year. And the Rockies put a point up. Seven to one. Line drive center field. Base hit. 98 mph fast. You threw it two times in a row though to the wrong guy. Line drive, base hit right center field. Jos’s on his way to third. He’ll make it without a throw. And the Guardians are right back at it with runners at the corners and only one out. Arius draws the walk that loads him up for Nolan Jones. Line drive, base hit right field. Ramirez scores. Manzardo will move to third. They all move up 90 ft and it’s 8-1 Cleveland. Jones second straight hit. Broke his bat. Slow roll it to short. There’s one on to first. They turn an inning ending double play. Bo Naylor who has grounded out, walked and scored a run, leading it off for Cleveland. driven to deep right field. Back is Freeman. He’s looking up and it’s off the wall and Bone Naylor racing into second base with a leadoff double. They have had runners aboard every inning. Swung on a chopper to the second baseman. High hop pulled down by Farmer who throws on to first for the out. Advancing to third is Naylor. One down in the inning. Base hit right field. 91 Cleveland. Juan has his first hit of the night. So now every starter has a hit in the game for the Guardians. Yeah. And you know that ball was down and he’s a great low ball hitter, man. He gets his head down and he’s quick, but he beats it into the ground and finds the hole between first and second and another RBI for Quani who has 38. It makes it a nine to one game. Kyle Manzardo two for three. Two-run homer to right center and a single. Right center field. It’s a long way back and it is gone. A home run. Kyle Manzardo with his second dinger of the night. That makes it 10-1 Guardians. Yeah, he’s got the long ball stroke working. Just barely cleared the wall in right center field. Hit up on that rooftop and then bounded into the seating area. And the Guardians have done something tonight that they have not done since 1983. scored in each of the first six innings at home. And a bouncy ball up the first base side. Herget’s going to field it, push it toward the first base from Bernabel on the ground and Bernabel scoops it up and they got the man at first. That’s going to go with one three on an unconventional put out at first. Here’s Nolan Jones and he got hit in the back. A curveball that hit Nolan Jones and he’s aboard. And so Nolan Jones will now take his base. Next pitch, swing and a miss. He got him. Went upstairs to that fast ball after the curve ball and gets a strike out for the second out in this sixth inning. Here’s his 1-1 to Naylor. And that’s bounced towards second. Big hop for Kyle Farmer. He’ll throw over to first base to get the outs. So they’re going to try to get one more inning out of him. And Jonathan Rodriguez has taken over for Nolan Jones in right field. The next delivery swung on and shot to third and caught by Ramirez. Farmer headed hard but right at Jos Ramirez. One down here is Michael Tolia. Uh-oh. Oh my. That is crushed. Michael Tolia. Well, you said this guy’s got some power. That’s his 11th home run. He was just one for his last 21, but he got all of that one. Second solo homer of the night for the Rockies. And they close the gap to 10-2. hit the mound up the middle and through. So, Orlando Arcia has his first hit of the night. How about a two for one? Oh, that’d be sweet. You got it. There you go. You got it. There’s one and two. Bingo. Logan T. Allen goes seven big innings for the Guardians tonight. Saving the bullpen, yielding just two rungs to the Rockies. Here’s Daniel, one for four with a single. Drives one to deep center field. Doyle back on the track. He’s going to look up. He’s going to play it off the wall and into second base with a double is Daniel Schne. His second hit of the night. And the Guardians keep the pressure on as they try to score for the seventh time. [Music] Oh, what a diving stop by Bernabel. His throw to first is low and Herget made a great play to retire Ramirez. Wow. Well, I tell you what, they both combined to rob Jose Ramirez of a base hit, a run batted in, and they finally, for the first time tonight, keep the Guardians off the scoreboard. And it took almost a superhuman effort to do it. Well, it took until the eighth inning for the Guardians to make the call to the bullpen. That Festa will come on here in the eighth after Logan Allen threw a career-high 113 pitches. and a high pop. Rochio calling for it. Makes the bobble and drops it. And that’s a fair ball. Andar will be Yeah, he called it off. He was underneath it. I don’t know if he took his eye off it or not, but bounced out of the glove. Two down. That’ll bring up warming Bernabel. Swung on drill to left base hit near the line. Cutting it off was Quan. No, he didn’t. A ball skipped right off his glove. Goes to the wall. Around third, Tovar coming home to score an unearned run and an RBI double for Bernabel and it is a 10 to3 ball game. Tim Herren will pitch the ninth. Bottom third of the Rockies order due up. Kyle Farmer leaving all their options open. Their ball is crushed. Farmer sending one deep into the seats in left field. That’s the third solo homer of the game for the Rockies and the fifth home run of the year for Kyle Farmer who was just four for his last 35 before that swing of the bat. Rockies are down to their last out. Two down in the ninth. Cleveland with a 10 to4 lead. Top of the order. Yankee Fernandez. See if Harris can get in the chase. Book it. The Guardians win it 104. Over and out.

Bernabel ❤🔥🔥🔥
Go Tribe!!!
This game the Guardians won 10 to 4, was kind of impacted by the terrible, sloppy defense.
I think….. the temporary, possible loss for the season and maybe even a ban for life on Clase, is having an effect on his teammates.
There are still two months of the MLB Season left to play, if it is one thing, it is another. There are too many hiccups along the way for the Guardians in 2025.
I believe it would take a super miracle for the Guardians to make the playoffs without Clase for a month and a return to form from Guards SP Shane Bieber (when he is able to return to the starting rotation), for Cleveland to make the playoffs.
Some of these rockies players don't look too interested…
Oh my… Rockies is the true baseball!
