Green Bay Packers reactions: Tucker Kraft likes the physical start of training camp
one unit, man. We get uh we get punished, we get punished together. Just the way I see it. A little coach Carteresque, I guess. Uh Goody was talking this morning about when he was talking about Hobs. He said, “We need to have that sort of edge to go far in the playoffs. Is there a line that can’t be crossed, though? And what was Matt’s message to you guys in the huddle after practice about that?” Yeah, you know, we’re not the only team dealing with with people playing on the edge. Um he’s a new face. you know, there’s there’s different ways people practice, different facilities. You know, third third year in a row, we’re the youngest team in the NFL. That’s just a part of the growing pains that that we’re going to go through. Um it’s just instrumental to uh make sure everybody’s on the same page moving forward. You know, we want to avoid obviously um anything extra. You know, we don’t want to create any division uh by our play styles. You know, we want to continue to keep everybody healthy. Matt mentioned to us this morning that you guys got to stop putting the ball on the ground and he mentioned you specifically. Have you been hard on yourself the first couple days since you’ve let a couple loose? Um yeah, sure. Uh it’s something we’re always working on. I’d say a lot of the times um there there’s certain rules you play with in in practice. Um like just letting the defense punch you repeatedly. You’re not like you’re not allowed to stiff arm, things like that. I guess all I have are excuses. Yes, I’m working on not fumbling the ball in practice. Well, because the first one wasn’t it wouldn’t actually be a fumble. It was well after the play. But I I’m just asking cuz Laf floor brought up your name with us this morning specifically. Yeah. Uh that’s just a yes sir, no sir mentality with coach at this point. Um I you want to obviously keep the ball in the offensive possession as long as possible. Um bust fine in my opinion. Uh but whatever. Did you say you’re not allowed to step out in practice? Correct. offense is not allowed to extend their hand into the defensive player’s face in practice. How does that make you feel? Uh it’s a large part of my game. I use my off hand as a weapon repeatedly all the time. I’ve shown that. Um so I just I I get my reps in that when uh we play games, I guess. How do you back from something that’s so second nature? I just play by the rules. I don’t make them. Overall though, as far as just like the physicality, the intensity, do you feel like it’s now that the pads are on, at least for this start, is it at the level, you know, it’s expected and where it should be with this? Yeah, there’s there’s a lot of guys that are just trying to find their footing right now and being able to put the pads on kind of brings a new level to that. Um, your technique should always be your your main focus, but having the pads on allows you to play a little bit harder, more physical. Um, but yeah, I I I love popping the pads. So, I think it’s a great opportunity for people to find out more about themselves on the field here at the pro
