Hey, we’re here every day talking Angels baseball with you every Monday through Friday, five days a week. It’s our fourth season as a host of Locked on Angels. On today’s show, is Perry’s job on the line. Is GMP going to have to work at an AM PM? We’ll find out. What’s doing at the plate right now that’s actually working for him? We’ll share that. First, Mike, we got five takeaways from last night’s game. Look, I I gotta tell you, man, I like to win. I like winning. We know what the Angels like should do at the trade deadline. I get all that. We’ve talked about it. Ad nauseium, but like I like to win, Mike. That’s just it’s what I like. I’m sorry. I’m a fan of this team. I can’t help it. Yeah. I’m gonna fan hat on right now, man. If they go for it, I’m all in. And I know that that’s the the worst probably decision, right? I’m not going to be logical and reasonable. I I will be for this show. But outside of that, I’m like, man, if they if they decide to go for it, Kenley Jansen’s closing games and he’s doing it three days in a row, I’m in, man, because it’s so much fun to watch. And then when they lose a bunch in a row, that’s when I’m like, what are idiots? What are they doing? Right. Yeah. We’ll blame each other. That’s that’s what’s going to go down. Let’s talk about that first takeaway. The Angels desperate for a win. Found a way to win this game. And it happened in the bottom of the sixth inning. They entered the inning down by one run with two outs. Gustavo Campo got a big hit, a double that scored Adele to tie the game. Then Yan Mata comes off the bench to pinch hit for Kevin Newman. Swings at the first pitch. lines a base hit to right, scores two. That gives the Angels the lead. Neto hits a line drive to left. The ball dropped in front of Sam Hagerty. He slipped on a Mario Kart banana peel out there and he fell down. And then Neto ended up getting a double out of that and Monata scored from first. The 21st double for Zack Neto and stole his 21st base by stealing third right there. The Angels scored four runs in that inning with two outs and six runs on the night with two outs. The Angels added another run in the bottom of the eighth when Nolan Shawnwell finally got what he wanted, his RBI. He had a sack fly. But here’s the thing. He had a productive game without getting a hit. He walked twice, scored the second run of the game with some smart base running. And here’s what happened there. With two outs, Joe blooped a single to right. It scored Neto, and then the throw got away from the first baseman, Ezekiel Duran. And then Shawnwell, he read it perfectly. Ran home. They always talk about how he’s invincible out there and uh so some good heads up base running. A lot different from last year with these young guys on the bases, right, Mike? Yeah. And he tucked his elbows in. I was proud of him. Second takeaway from last night. No chicken wings. Yeah. Kikuchi was just not sharp, man. He threw a lot of pitches, a lot of pitches in the middle of the zone, especially his slider, which is which is his strikeout pitch. It didn’t have any break. It it really just didn’t break like it normally does. Despite that though, Ray Montgomery didn’t remove him from the game when he had an opportunity to do that. He let him pitch until the about the middle of the sixth inning. Then he came out to speak with Kikuchi and you say said something that convinced Ray Montgomery to keep him in the game. Then he I only hear what I want to. That’s what you said. And you’re on it today. I I love it. Uh and I don’t know, Mike. I like winning. Yes. And and he allowed a second hit in that inning. So finally they did come back out and get him. He threw 105 pitches, went five and a third, gave up 10 hits, four runs, no walks, five Ks. The last two runs came when Brock Burke entered. Ezekiel Duran singled with runners at first and second. That that stupid number nine hitter. I’m so sick of those guys doing damage. After uh one run scored, then Ward throws the ball in. It gets away from Neto, and then a second run scores. So that’s how they got those two runs in that inning, but luckily the Angels were able to come back. Yeah, that that uh error was technically charged to Ward. Uh so it made it three earnings against USA uh but four runs total. Third takeaway of the game got heated in the bottom of the eighth. There was a little uh brewhaha. Neto was hit by a pitch and then Trout was hit and this was after Neto was hit earlier in the game and Renifo. So Ray Montgomery walks straight up to the Rangers dugout after checking on Mike Trout and he’s like get a guy who can throw inside if he can’t. stop throwing inside and everybody’s waving them off and so it was like Ray versus the world because all the Rangers came out of the dugout. Uh the bench is cleared. Nothing came of it. Trout did stay in the game. So did Neto and Renhifo. But good grief, if you can’t throw inside, stop trying it. And if you hit the batter at the plate by throwing inside, don’t do it again to the next hitter. These guys are bozos. They’re professional baseball players and they can’t control where their pitches go. Give me a break. Yeah. Fourth takeaway. Gustavo Capro since his air in the first game on Monday night. Something has just shifted in that kid. Like he’s got two hits and a run scored with two stolen bases after the air on Monday night. And then he adds another hit, an RBI double and a stolen base in last night’s game and played a pretty decent right field. Had a couple of balls that were right at the wall that he measured out beautifully and and made great catches out there. And I I know he’s not great in right field, but he’s been an adequate backup, but it seemed like since that error on Monday night, he’s gone he’s gone into like this this other level mode where he’s like, I just I just got to help this team win. I loved his interview with Erica Weston after last night’s two nights ago that win and and just hearing him be excited about how his teammates picked him up. Such a good moment. Joe Adele picking him up. Such a good moment. Jack Ahanowitz on Monday night was like, “Dude, you know, flush it away.” And then you can see he did because he was good on Monday and he was pretty good. He was a good good decent fill-in guy in right field last night for the Halos. If uh this outfield hadn’t have been so crowded when the season started, I could easily see him being the bench guy, the guy off the bench, being a pinch runner, playing the outfield when needed because he’s fast out there, Mike. He’s faster obviously than Solair. And then when he’s on the base paths, you know, one of the things that we said when he first came up, that was earlier in the season, was he immediately caused havoc on the base paths. And that was something the Angels were not doing to begin the season. They were afraid to steal bags. They were afraid to take extra bases. And Campero did that early on. And then he got sent down. He’s back up again because of the Solair injury. And, you know, he’s been adequate, right? He’s not going to be, you know, the the slugger, but he’s getting on base. He’s getting base hits and he’s making it count when he’s actually on the base pads. Yeah, definitely. Now, this is something the last takeaway from the game last night was something that John actually texted me during the game because we’re we’re watching, we’re talking about it, but you you made a good observation and so I’m going to read the takeaway and then I would I would love for you to walk us through why that was a takeaway. So, we think we figured out Mike Trout’s approach. It’s walk first, contact second, right? Like perfect example was what happened in the in the bottom of the first, right Johnny? Yeah. Here’s the thing. So in the bottom of the first, Zach Neto was on second base with nobody out, right? Trout comes up and it was obvious he was trying to work the count, take a walk, see his pitches. But here’s the thing, there’s nobody out and I don’t need Mike Trout on first base with nobody out. You have Zach Neto at second. Now, if Neto was at first and Trout took the walk and that pushed Neto to second, that makes sense to me. But in this situation, Trout was looking for the walk. He ended up taking a strike out because it was a cutter inside. It was a good pitch, right? And so, I don’t blame him for that. But here’s what I think. You got Neto on second. Move him over. Whether that’s a ground ball, whether that’s a fly out, get Neto over to third base. And I I I understand like, hey, I want to get on base and, you know, stack up some runners, but in that situation, I just felt like you’ve already got the runner at second. You’re not pushing the guy at first to second. Get him over and then let Shawn do his thing. And if he grounds out, well, at least you’re up one- nothing right now. Eventually, they were able to take that early lead. But to me, I just think that taking the walk right there is unnecessary. Swing first. You had pitches in the zone. there was stuff that you could have done some stuff with, but uh you know, a little bit later on there was another situation where he took a walk and nothing was close. And so it’s like, yeah, take that walk right there. But to me, Mike, I just think that you got to be smarter than, “Oh, I just got to get on base here.” No, move Netto over. Maybe you get a base hit, maybe you fly out, maybe a ground out, doesn’t matter. Get that runner over to third with no outs and then you have one out. Then let Shaunowell again, if he grounds out, if he does something, it’s gonna get Neto home and put you up early. I just think that the Angels are not fighting for runs in the way that seems obvious sometimes. I don’t know. What do you think? Yeah, I I I like that Shauna Wells batting third. I really like that Mike Trout was moved up to second. And uh to your point, it’s that boring fundamental baseball that we’ve talked about often on this show that in those moments you need to play, right? And and with with Mike Trout, they’re they’re they’re shading him to pull the ball to left field. So if he’s trying to move Neto over to third, then perhaps you take a step towards right field, right? And and they’re shading him towards left, you take a step towards right, there’s a there’s a big hole that’s opened up there. And and so if you hit a ground ball, you might even get a base hit. It might help his average and all of those things. And so that that’s the point. And being the number two hitter, we need you to spray the ball everywhere. And is that Mike Trout? Well, I I think that it could be Mike Trout, right? because he isn’t the the same dominant home run hitting force. I like that he’s on base a lot. He’s got a uh on base percentage of over 360, which is fantastic, especially for that number two hitter. But it is those moments where man, we we need a little bit more strategy than we do just I’m going to have a really good at bat here. We need somebody that’s going to move the runner over. That’s why I like Shauna at number three because he did that last night, especially in the eighth inning when he hit the sack fly with the bases loaded. Is this trade deadline a make or break deadline for Angels GM Perry Manassian? Now, we’re going to refer to uh Jim Bowden, who is a former GM, also has the world’s worst haircut. I don’t know if you’ve seen that guy, but he does he’s not a fan of the Angels, Michael. He’s not often said very nice things about the Angels. And, you know, there’s a lot of people out there who have their critiques of the Angels, and it’s usually like, “Yeah, that’s that’s fair.” Or, “Yeah, rightfully so.” But, man, when it comes to Bowden, Yeah. everything is like, “Well, and and just like, you know, his his trade deadline targets and and uh you know, the drafts and his analysis, all that stuff. He just he misses the mark with me. And, you know, I understand that there’s a narrative around the Angels and we want this to be a narrative shifting season. I think that’s already become that. But there’s just some people who don’t want to give up their negative uh their narrative, their negative narrative. There you go. uh Freudian slip right there because everyone’s negative about the Angels, especially Jim Podin. But here’s what he had to say recently about Perry Manosian. He said, “Hired in November 2020, Manosian has nearly five year has had nearly five years to build the Angels into a contender, but hasn’t been able to do it and needs to start showing progress. He’s put together a strong young core of position players led by Zach Neto, Logan O’H, Nolan Shaell, Joe Adell. However, on the pitching side of the equation, the Angels haven’t improved during his tenure. This year, their major league staff ranks 26th in erra and 29th in whip. In addition, Menosian needs to do a lot of patchwork type transactions because the farm just hasn’t produced. Manosian signed through 2026, but even with a year and a half left on his contract, there’s no guarantee he’ll be allowed to finish what is his second deal with the club. He signed a two-year extension through 2026 last August. The trade deadline is important for Manosian and the Angels regardless of what direction they decide to go. Trying to buy and win now or what I would do. These are Bowden’s words. Looking to sell so that they’re stronger in the future. It might not even be his call as Angel’s owner Arty Marino could dictate the decision. But either way, the key goal Manasian must have is to improve their overall pitching in the short and long term at every level. So, not a terrible analysis, not a terrible assessment, not your typical Jim Bowden nonsense, right? So, yeah. Uh, some some something that I think we we all agree with. Like something’s got to give here, right, Mike? Yeah. And I liked that he said whatever direction they go whether they sell or in my opinion they are whether they buy or in my opinion sell is what Bowden said. I like that he left that open. I think we need to address a couple of things here John. First he talked about the young core. Neto Shael Hoppy Joe Adele were named. Now if if the Halos are selling and getting big pieces back and you’re going to add to this young core what would you add? Would you go more pitching? What do you think that they should do? Would you go third baseman? Because obviously that’s been a giant hole and will be even next year because we have no idea what will happen with Rendone and we can’t even count on Rendone being around and if he’ll even be good. He hasn’t played baseball in 36 millennia. So he he’s been he’s been gone forever. So what what do you think would be a wise decision if the Angels decide to sell and they’re getting some big pieces back? Yeah, they’re going to need a long-term solution over at third base. It’s been a problem for how many years now, Mike? Like the last consistent third baseman they had was Unell Escobar. Yeah. And that wasn’t even uh a homegrown talent. That was somebody they signed in free agency. Before that, they had um David F, right, that they traded for. Before that, they gave it to Kaioso, but Kyospo wasn’t exactly the world’s best third baseman over there. They tried out Mark Trumbo before. Fun fact, Mark Trumbo was the third baseman during Jared Weaver’s no hitter. Yeah. Uh and didn’t didn’t ruin it for Weave. So, there you go. But this is this has been a problem for years, Mike, and they just have never had a solution for it until they tried to sign Anthony Rendone. That was the answer. That was the solution. I had no problems with the Rendone signing back in 2019 because it made all the sense in the world. You got this guy coming off a World Series victory. He’s been a stalwart over at third base for the Nationals his whole career. He played a little second base early in his career, but that was the solution and I thought it was a great solution. And Anthony can’t stay on the field. Not the team’s fault that he couldn’t stay on the field. Not the team’s fault that Anthony Rendone has had the attitude issues that he’s had. So, all of that to say, third baseman needs to be addressed. They need a third baseman badly. Here’s what I think about the pitching side. I think you have enough depth to give a chance to By the way, I don’t know if you saw uh Sam El Darry’s July with the Trash Pandas. Yeah, fantastic July. He’s been electric. So, so much for ruining his development, right? Um he’s been fantastic. And I bring that up because you’ve got guys that you can look forward to. George Clawson, Kaden Dana, Sam El Daryry, uh Reed Deetmer’s I’m sure will be back in the rotation next season if not before the end of this year if you know they decide to sell and then they’re just like, “All right, let’s let’s put Reed back and see how he does the rest of the year.” Can he take that bullpin mentality, that bulldog mentality back with him to the rotation? The thing is, the Angels have never been able to land that big arm that they’ve needed. They’ve not been able to get Garrick Cole. They’ve not been able to, you know, get the ace that they truly need. The only way they’re going to be able to do it is via trade. Now, Kikuchi is great. He signed for three years. Before that, Tyler Anderson signed for three years. So, they’ve been able to get some free agent pitching, but it’s not an ace, and they’ve not been able to get an ace. Now, I think you have enough you have enough like threes and fours, maybe a two, and you’ve got enough three, four, and five guys to fill out this rotation, but you’re missing that ace. You’re missing that Weaver. Speaking of which, uh, we haven’t done the bell in a while. Ding. Weaver reference. We actually need a real bell. That’s what I think. Um, but to go out and get an ace, look, I know that this is a pipe dream, but you’d have to overwhelm somebody like the Pirates to get like a Paul Skins level kind of ace, right? Somebody who is young, can come in, anchor your rotation. Maybe maybe Brener is somebody that they can turn to next year. His ceiling has kind of been a number two starter. Maybe Debmers takes that bullpen mentality back with him to the rotation and becomes aceike, right? And and so I think they have a lot of options to go when it comes to pitching. They have enough to fill out their rotation. They have enough depth to try out some guys, but they’re missing that ace. I don’t know where they’re going to get it. I don’t know how they’re going to acquire it. Maybe this narrative shifting season allows them to sign somebody in free agency, but it’s the last time I looked at free agents, I think I think Freddy Peralta is like the best one on the free agent board and he’s not bad and he’s been great for the Brewers, but that’s not the guy I’m going after if I want an ace, right? No. No. And if they do make a trade, I know there’s a lot of conversation about what they could get for like a Taylor Ward or uh Joe Adele’s name has been thrown out there. I don’t think Adele goes anywhere and I still don’t think that Ward’s going anywhere. I I did like what Jared Tims tweeted yesterday from Talking Halos. He said that we might be overestimating Ward’s value because yeah, he’s got the home runs and the RBI’s, but he’s got a high K percentage. He’s got a low batting average. He’s not great with an on base percentage. And so I think that what people are seeing in Ward might be a bit of an illusion compared to what would happen with like other teams. But if you trade away Ward, I think that a a player like that could potentially get you a future ace, but not somebody who’s an ace right now. Like somebody who’s in AAA, Double A, and and maybe is ready to debut next year, but will be an ace in like two years or in three years. I I do wonder with Jose Sorano’s development if he’s going to be somebody that could eventually be the stopper on this team. Right. I think he’s a strong number two. If this rotation has strong number TWS, I don’t think that that’s bad at all because strong number TWs are better than having a bunch of threes and fours and not a number one. And so I think Sorano can lead this rotation. I think he’s somebody he’s already kind of proven it. If he if he gets more consistent at home, he can be that guy. But he’s he stopped the losing streak. It was his his outing that stopped everything even though he didn’t get the win. I think that they have a lot of value in him. and then Kikuchi being there. I don’t want to discount Kahanowitz. I think Kahanowitz could be a four or five in this rotation. And I think you bring up a really good point about Reed Demmer’s even though he’s been lights out in the bullpen. Man, to have that mentality as a starter could potentially be the thing that shifts shifts everything for him and then he becomes the wipeout pitcher that everybody expected him to be. Yeah. It’s interesting when you talked about Taylor Ward because you’ve said something many, many times on this show and it’s when Taylor Ward is just a dude and not your cleanup hitter. Yeah. And and by the way, he’s got all the RBI’s because he’s been at cleanup for pretty much the whole season, right? And so obviously he’s going to get the most opportunity. Obviously he’s cashed in on those opportunities. Good for him. Yeah. And good for him. But Mike, I think if you trade him to a contender, he doesn’t become a stalwart. There’s that word again of somebody’s lineup, it’s, hey, Taylor Worth, let’s put him in against some lefties, right? Like I think off the top of my head, I think he’s got a 260ome average against lefties this year, and he’s hitting them really, really well. Obviously, the plate discipline has gotten better. They showed a great graphic on TV last night, but to to move a guy like that, it’s not going to net you the the big ace that you want. Now, maybe if you could put together a nice little package of Taylor Ward, Kenley Jansen, and you can get somebody like Mick Ael from the Phillies, that would be great. But there’s just no way that you could get Andrew Painter from the Phillies, right? Who’s their number one prospect? And and so even if you stacked guys, you know, if you if you threw in uh you know, Nelson Rada and D, I don’t think that the Phillies go for it. Even though they need a left fielder, even though they need a closer, and even though you could add some other pieces that they could use in the future, I just don’t think that anything the Angels have to offer, even if it was overwhelmingly, hey, here’s six guys, right? I don’t think that that would be enough to net themselves a future ace. And so it’s going to be very interesting to see how they handle uh the rotation decisions come next year. Real quick, I just got to point out uh John Gray spells his name j and he looked like me out there on the mound with the flow going. Mike, it was like I was like, “Hey.” And my wife was like, “Why am I weirdly attracted to that guy?” They spent they spent a long time talking about his hair last night which was which was funny on the on the TV side. Loved it. Uh but also he pitched like I probably would have pitched uh in that in that inning too. Mike, let’s talk about let’s talk about Logan Hoppy at the plate. Over his last 10 games coming into Tuesday night’s game. He’s been hitting .353. He’s got a 436 on base percentage and a 529 slugging percentage. Remember what I always say, the way you feel about a 300 average is the way you should feel about a 400 on base and a 500 slugging. And Logan Hoppy over the last 10 games has severely outperform those. He’s got a 172 weighted runs created. Plus, if you’re new to that stat, it basically means that he is 72% better than the league average hitter. His K rate is down to 15.4% 4% and his walk rate is up to 10.3%. Mike, what changed for Logan O’H? Logan said that he’s realizing that he doesn’t have to swing very hard to hit the ball really far. He said, “I think the harder I swing, the more flat my path gets and the slower my bat is, too, because I’m musling up instead of trying to be quick and easy.” Wouldn’t that be nice if we could all just say that, “Yeah, I’ve been I don’t have to swing that hard to hit the ball that far.” Yeah, exactly. He said, “I I literally have told myself to swing 50% less in the game. It’s helping me to see the ball better. I’m not in such a rush to make a decision.” Oh, did add, he said, “Going back the past three or four games, it’s it’s been the best I’ve felt in a long time at the plate. I feel like my takes are better and I’m seeing the ball so much better.” Yeah, there was talk among fans that Oh should be sent down earlier this season and a lot of that had to do with the fact that he was really struggling behind the dish uh as a catcher and then he was struggling at the plate too and this was after you know he was up to about 15 home runs at the time. Yeah. Still really really struggling and so a lot of people thought well send him down have him work on some stuff. But uh some people who took it a little bit further said, “Why is a why do you think Oh part of this young core? He stinks. He’s not a franchise guy.” Hold on. Hold the phone because he is absolutely part of this young core. So here’s what I have to say to the naysayers. Mike, let’s think about the fact that this is essentially year two for Logan O’H. Mhm. remember he was out for most of 2023 with a shoulder issue. Came back very late in that season. 2024 was his first full season and we got to see a lot of the good that he can do and then in the back half of the season we saw a lot of him struggling and he addressed that over the off season and he addressed that with reporters and said I was doing too much you know to prepare for each game. I got to take it easy. Isn’t that funny? His solution to everything is I’m doing too much. I can swing 50% less. I can, you know, don’t have to warm up as hard. And it’s true because it’s certainly made him a lot better at the plate. They’ve also mentioned on the broadcast where his front shoulder is a little more in and that’s been helping his swing path a whole lot. So, to the naysayers, I say this. Who was right about Joe Adele after all these years clamoring and saying, “He’s got to have time. He’s got to have a full season. He’s got to have a full season’s worth of plate appearances. You can’t set him down. You can’t bring him back up.” And now we’re all reaping the benefits of a great Joe Adele who’s disciplined at the plate, who is making great contact when he makes contact, who’s lowered his strikeout rate, who’s upped his walk rate, he’s been in right field, gold glove contender last year, second in defensive run saved, and then he stunk in center field this year, and all of a sudden, we’re not talking about his defense anymore in terms of things that have gone wrong. I say you got to do the same for Logan O’Hy. Am I wrong? I don’t think you’re wrong. And I think one of the reasons why you’re not wrong and you need to give him time is because how many segments have we done just this season on Logan Hoppy saying, “Yeah, I’m adjusting. I’m figuring things out. I’m asking the coaches for wisdom. This guy is the least egotistical, arrogant player on this team, right? Like he is not like stuck in his way. He is constantly learning, constantly growing. Adam Grant’s a great author who writes a good book called Hidden Potential. And in the book, he says that the learners in life are the ones that step into what’s uncomfortable. And Logan Hoppy does. And what’s uncomfortable is going away from your regular routine and rhythm as a ball player and trying something new. This guy is trying something new and even backing off on some of the things that he was doing. He’s always trying something new so that he can get better. And we’re seeing the results not just at the plate, but behind the dish as well. And I love that, John. I love that he’s somebody that wants to constantly learn. And that’s what we need on this team. Somebody who has no ego, wants to win, wants to be victorious, and isn’t going to say, “Well, this is how we do it. Here’s the sacred cow. You can’t push it over.” Right? He wants to do whatever is necessary to be the best player he can be and help this team be the best team that they can be. And the best part is that he’s not alone in that. Zack Neto, Nolan Showell, Joe Adell, all those guys have been willing to be adaptable. They’ve been willing to change things at the plate. They’ve been willing to take feedback and criticism and take it and run with it so that they can be the best players that they can be on the field. "Dont do it…don't give me hope" – Every Angels fan ever
Kenley is a Dog, bro!!!!
I got you dog, lol.
Dudes its been a 11 years man I get it future is important but tomorrow is not promised win now this team is scraping let’s goo halos. And can Mike trout swing the damn bat
LOA Jon and Mike, thanks for the shout-outs. BTW, I am also in So Cal. Every since I found you guys, you're my first listen of the day.
I really appreciate you, gentlemen we don't agree on everything. But we Angels negativity in this town.
Jon, I like your take on an ace starting pitcher.
However, I prefer us to get a third baseman. That would hopefully set our infield for years to come.
GMPM contact the Mets. Baty and / or Acuna would be great pickups. Imagine O'Hoppe, Nolan, Moore, Neto, and Baty. Be a good young infield. Acuna plays a lot of positions, plus he could be our ideal lead-off hitter.
LOA, Have you gentlemen noticed how our pitchers walking hitters has increased lately. Hopefully, Enright can get this fixed. It's really hurting us lately.
Keep up the great work.
So…is there pressure on Perry? I think Perry is doing great. Like getting all draft picks signed. Did you give your Perry opinion? JB.s , “not a terrible analysis… “ that’s it?
No buying, give Aldhegheri and Dana a shot, Run 6 man rotation. Strickland is on his way, Moore is coming back. We don’t need players, we got some. Soler benched, 2 part time DH’s Moncada 3rd Dh, Trout outfield. DH
Texas wanted to give the game away more than Ray wanted to give it away! The game was very entertaining though! Rengifo looked like he was in a lot of pain when he was hit in the hand-wrist area. Hope nothing is fractured!
If we’re gonna buy there’d be very few guys I’d depart with within our top 30, they include
-SP Samuel Aldegheri (#8) AA
-C Dario Laverde (#14) A
-RP Samy Natera Jr. (#16) AA
-SP Walbert Urena (#17) AA
-SP Joel Hurtado (#19) AA
-C Marlon Quintero (#27) ACL
These would be some of the more comfortable pieces that I’d move in the farm, Aldegheri say what you want but the potential just isn’t there, and his values not getting any higher.
If we need a high leverage reliever, a 3B, and an arm, I would make these moves:
When Christian Moore comes back I’d dfa Kevin Newman, that would make Luis rengifo and Chad Stevens the backups
Trade Samuel Aldegheri and Joel hurtado for Merrill Kelly
