Red Sox vs. Twins Game Highlights (7/29/25) | MLB Highlights
We are getting set for game number two. Socks and the Twins in Minneapolis. And Pearson O has had his contract selected from St. Paul and he’s going to get the start in his major league debut tonight against the Red Sox. Again, this was originally Chris Paddock’s spot in the rotation. He was the team’s 14th round pick four years ago. He went a combined 5-2 with a 2.17 erra in the Miners this season. has a four pitch mix. Four seamer will sit around 92 mph change up. I would say that’s probably his most effective pitch. Gets a ton of swing and miss on that and will face fellow rookie Roman Anthony who has reached base safely six of his last nine plate appearances and came right back with it and so hard about pitching in the big leagues. Three pitches and strikes out Anthony. A fast ball, two change ups and a happy moment for the old family right away tonight. Yes, sir. has been waiting his whole life to get that first strike out that that first inning in at the major league level. That’s a good one on his notch. Now you got Alex Bregman. And now you step up in weight class a little bit more. Two two and Bregman strikes out. Oh, let’s go on a breaking ball. So two up, two down. And those smiles, they keep growing batter after batter. Let’s go. You see he got a little shimmy after that strike out on Bregman. We saw it on Roman Anthony, but once again, I know he’s juiced up. It’s a nice slider. He hadn’t thrown that pitch up until that point and so far a really good start to this ball game. Jiren Durant one for four last night. Duran, we saw him in center. That one hit toward the gap. That’s into the alley on the grass. That’ll keep on rolling all the way up against the fence. He’s going to race into second. He is going to take a big turn and head on back. He was thinking about three for a moment. Wide turn and he’ll settle for the double. He also doubled last night. Story 0 for five last night. Struck out three times. He’s hitless over his last 11 at bats. He struck him out swinging. Strikes out the side in his first big league inning. Lucas coming in at six and two, 397 RA. And I just wondered which version of Lucas Gilito are we going to get? We get that one that you know he went six starts and had under a one RA or is it be the last couple starts that we’ve seen or the home run ball was an issue? Four of them there in Philly. The Twin Shortstop, seven home runs for Korea. one for five last night. Line to left center field and that will drop in front of Sidon Raphaela. Just the third 02 hit that Golito has allowed all year. See if Koreah’s okay after that swing. And Koreah just looks uncomfortable. A little shaving from the bat that perhaps popped up into his eye. Kareah’s leaning over. He wants his for second. And now home plate umpire Alphonso Marquez has picked up on this. Hopefully he’s okay. Last thing the Twins need is some more bad news, especially after Byron Buckton. And he’ll stay in this game. So, two on, nobody out. And here comes Willie Castro. Big cut. He comes up empty. Strike three. Back to that change up. He needed that one against Castro. He sure did. Good old parachute ball, right? It does so good with his arm speed. It looks just like fast ball. Even the rotation of it. It’s a straight change, which you don’t see a lot today’s game. A 20 pitch first inning for old in his big league debut. He struck out three, gave up a double. Abrau to center and deep sending Bader back. Bader to the wall. Shuts up. He got it. Harrison Bader caught that ball. Harrison Bader robbing a home run of Will Abrau. Incredible defense all season long from Bader in left and center and took one away from Abrau here at target field. Korea leave of the game is lightheaded and so Brooks lean now at short and Pearson is sets a goal for inning number three and here’s S on Raphaela batting ninth again and back in center field tonight sock that one pretty well hit left center field toward the alley and that’s going to clang into the wall he’s heading into second base taking a turn he’s on his way to third and the throw is offline he’s got three a nice answer there as he just kept on chugging along and wound up at third. Tell you what, if you throw him something in the zone, he’s going to hit it. And this is just a phenomenal read by both Kyle Hudson and Son Raphaela just using their eyes, reading the trajectory of the ball. Fast ball top of the zone. Goes up and gets it. Smokes it off the wall. Just about got out of here. Third triple for Hamilton. Infield in top of the order. Roman Anthony and a base hit. He comes through again. That’ll chase in Sadon. And the Red Sox lead it one to nothing. And this is another tough change up. This is an inbat adjustment that just doesn’t happen for 21-year-olds. It’s it’s really impressive. Alex Bregman, but a three-run homer last night. Two-run shot on Sunday. Shot. He pulls that one to the left field on the grass on the track up against the wall on the move. Anthony around to score. Here’s the throw home. He scores easily. Bregman with the double. Two nothing Boston. A big mistake by Willie Castro and left. Now watch this. This is everything right here. Just that little bit of bobble. Kyle Hudson was holding Roman up and then started to rescend him. It’s good call. It’s a big run. So the Red Sox lead it two nothing. So it’ll fall on Story trying to fight his way out of a fairly lengthy skid right now. Swinging a high fly ball left center field deep. Bader going back all the way to the warning track. Leaping up. He can’t get this one. And Trevor Story goes downtown. Man, did he need that. his 16th of the year and the Red Sox bolster the lead to four to nothing. Sigh of relief by Trevor. We were just talking about it. 0 for 12 coming into that bat in that Twins bullpen. Joan Duran gave a couple guys hugs, grabbed his glove, and then went down the stairs and disappeared under the concourse, which this time of year will set off some alarm bells. Not sure exactly what’s going on. There could be a million different reasons. Jan Durant tonight, a double and a strikeout. Swinging a high drive out to right center. Watch this one fly. That is way back there. It is gone. Durant just spanked it. His 10th home run of the year. That caught the facade out there. Red Sox lead it five to nothing. The second home run tonight. He has had that tendency this year. When he hits it, man, do they go. Bader smacks it to left. Cut off by Durant and holding at first base as Bader with a one out single. See if Vasquez can fight his way on. Get some traffic out there with Lardic on deck. And that came inside and hit Vasquez on his hand and he will take his base. See a fast ball running in on Basi that hit him straight on the Knuckles. One swing of the bat from Lick here. Twins are back in this game. Boy, another good one. That change up’s been tough and down he goes. Strike three. Puts away Lick. Lead batting for the second time. 0 for one with a ground out to the pitcher. This is poked to left center field. That’ll fall. Bader will score. Missed in center by Raphaela and Watkins will hold. Watkins will hold. Vasquez as Lee makes second. So reeling in a two out run scoring knock for Brooks. Lee. Harrison Bader scores and the Twins are down four. Cody Thunderberg coming into this game in the top of the sixth inning for the Twins making his 12th appearance of the season. 1 and0 record 7.8 RA. It’s Narvay, Toro, and Hamilton. And in the Herb Chambers batting order, ground ball sharply hitting a single. Narvay is aboard. That’s how the sixth inning gets underway against Sadon’s next. Infield remains in and a fly ball left center. Bader coming on. He’ll make the catch. Narvay with the tag. He will score. Red Sox on the board again on the sack fly. It is six to one. A little bit of adversity here for Lucas Gilito in the bottom of the sixth inning. The Red Sox do lead 6-1 on the Twins. It’s first and second for Minnesota and it’s Harrison Bader in the box. Swing and a miss. Got him with a curveball. He struck him out. Stranding two. Six to one Boston. Justin Wilson taking over for Lucas Gelino who could pick up the W tonight. Will bring up Jeffers as this will mark his first at bat since coming off the fraternity list. And a solid single to center for Ryan Jeffers. Now Brooks Lee from the right side. Uh-oh. Well hit to left center field and deep. This one is back towards the bullpan and gone. Brooks Lee. There’s a good two- swing and the Twins are down three. It’s 6-3 Boston here in the seventh. Castro 0 for three. Couple strikeouts and a ground out to third. Softly hit charging on that Sod. He’ll dive ahead and he makes the play. He makes the catch. Oh boy. Beautifully timed once a game, right? You can pretty much book it. Doesn’t matter if he’s in on the dirt or if he’s playing center. They’re not going to look at it. He got the leather just under it. Breman’s one for four with a double, hitting .299 as he gets in here. The roller to third. Lewis bumbles had issues with that. So, another bat for Trevor Story. A two-run homer run in the third. Really turned the tide in this one. There’s a shot out to right center field. Walner on the run. Can’t get it. That’ll take a skip. Into third base goes Bregman. rounding now. He’s trying to score. He will. Standing up on the double. Story with another RBI. Give him three in the ball game. And the Red Sox lead it seven to three. Lo for three. Took a shot at center field fence in the second inning. And a line drive. That’s a hit. That’s going to keep on rolling to the fence. Another run will score. Trevor Story is in into second base. Sabreu. He’ll slide in with an RBI double. The Red Sox getting some distance big time now. Leading it 8 to three in the ninth. Alcala coming on to finish this one up as we go to the bottom of the ninth as the 2-1 little dribbler left side of the diamond. Story runs right over the top of it and Jeffers is going to be safe. But it’s one of those errors you talked about Danny. What’ you say? 42 of them coming into the game. 46 46 and have committed. That’s their second error here tonight. So now Brooks Lee, he’s had a great night. Did not start this game. He came in early. Carlos Korea left the game due to an illness after one at bat. Lee in the air to right field and deep this one towards the dock and that is going to be a home run. A two homer night for Brooks Lee and he joins a very impressive group in that Twins that have homerred from both sides of the plate in the same game. It’s eight to five Chapman the Allstar coming in. Red Sox ahead 8 to five. Two down. Casper batting for Clemens and the Twins are down to their final strike. Oh to swung on and missed. put him away. That was quick. And that’s the ball game. Red Sox win it 8 to five. It’s a bounce back they absolutely had to have tonight. Trevor Story with a home run. Jiren Durant with a home run. Said on Raphael with a great catch and a triple. A lot of good stuff tonight. Lucas Gelo with six innings to pick up the victory.

Will Patrick Sandoval be able to return to the major leagues this year? Will he be able to participate in next year's WBC? Will he be able to recover from his injury by next March and participate in the WBC?
I saw an article that said Red Sox player Marcelo Mayer will take some time to return, but is it correct that he is currently on the 10-day disabled list? Or is it that his injury has worsened and it will take some time before he can return?
Will Minnesota Twins' Daniel Duarte be able to return anytime soon?
Trade Jhoan Duran this team is going nowhere this year. Phillies or Mets will give up a good deal.
Good bounce back win for the Red Sox after whatever they did yesterday was oh and Chapman healthy again that good to know too.
Red Sox are a scrappy team..Say what you want.
