[Heilbrunn]Yu Darvish said he made a mechanical change and “drastically dropped the arm slot” today. Said he played catch with it, tested it in his bullpen, then did it in the game. It’s similar to the arm slot he had in earlier years, he said.

  1. It’s absolutely ridiculous that this man can suddenly change his mechanics and shove. Regardless of it being familiar to past years, it’s not easy to make these changes.

  2. Yu got this!!!
He’s a veteran for a reason and I’m glad the Padres kept him!
    You go Yu!

  3. So he was able to make it that the mets scouted, prepared for, and planned around an almost entirely different pitcher, that’s awesome

  4. So he is throwing a bit more side armed? Or is dropping a different term…

“In baseball, arm slot refers to the angle at which a pitcher’s arm comes through the throwing motion, relative to the ground. It’s primarily determined by the tilt of the pitcher’s shoulders during the throwing motion. Arm slots can be broadly categorized as overhand, three-quarters, and sidearm, with variations within each category. “

  5. This sub was shitting themselves because of his start. Saying he should retire and he’s washed. It’s so tiring the overreactions of casual fans. He needed to knock the rust off. Over the last year he’s missed so much time.

  6. Lol just like when he copied king and he was like

    That’s my pitch

  7. I changed my arm angle at work today, and I ended up cramping up while typing.

    Yu is the man.
