Fire Q. This is unacceptable bullpen management.

  1. In all seriousness, was this to show off the bullpen before the deadline? Let other teams get a last look at who we have?

edit: goddamn, sorry for having a question and apparently a stupid one. Everyone keeps talking about our decent depth at SP, so was genuinely curious about the rotation today.

  2. Off day tomorrow and a 5-hit shutout? Long threw one ball on 18 pitches. It was the best pitching performance of the season in the game we needed it the most!

    First six innings pitched: 3 H, 7 K, 1 BB
    Last four innings pitched: 2 H, 3 K, 0 BB

  3. Have you seen the injury list? Looks more like a masterpiece of PITCHING STAFF management than a disaster of bullpen usage. Unless you were using the sarcasm font, then I’m totally on board.

  4. Such a braindead fan take to win 1-0 in a 10 inning shutout and bitch about the *pitching*

  5. Unfortunately we all know perfectly well they’re not going to get rid of Q.

Despite his lackadaisical management style and his mediocre lineups, He’s just too well liked by the organization to cut him loose.

  6. I think this was very good bullpen management. Tied the all time record for most pitchers used in a shutout win.

  7. Okay?

And now every single one of them can throw again on Friday if needed.

What’s the actual point here? Or is it just “Unusual = Bad” and that’s where your thought process stopped?

  8. I love when people get this sub stirred up with the sarcastic posts. Keep up the good work.

  9. Fire Q. Just cuz.

But a bullpen game shutout is probably one of the coolest things I’ve seen this season. I love good pitching/defense.

  10. This is not the hill to die on. Bunting Frazier to try and advance Salvy from 1st on Tuesday night – that’s legit Managerial malpractice. Throwing a bullpen gem – I’m good with that.
