  1. Cortes can’t be pitching the playoffs. Not a bad depth piece though

  2. NASTY NESTOR?! b-lock you will be missed. Last two trades have been head scratchers, unless Preller is accumulating for a bigger trade?

  3. Just fod Lockridge? Thats awesome, and we have Bryce to serve a same(doing it better than Lock) role… and hey Cortes is a certified Dodgers hater haha

  4. Padres traded Enyel De Los Santos for Brandon Lockridge.

Then they traded Lockridge for Nestor Cortes.

So the Yankees gave up Nestor Cortes for 2 weeks of Enyel de los Meatballs.

    Good job, Cashman!!

  5. My wild guess is they want to use Cortes as a LH rental reliever while we’re light on those?

  6. I said this in the other thread but Nestor has all the hallmarks of being a Ruben reclamation experiment. The lack of team control is puzzling, though. I guess for now he’s just depth and we might re-up him (hopefully cheaply, given his fall-off) if there’s something the coaching staff sees and likes.

  7. This is a no-brainer. I like Lockridge but he’s 28 and likely won’t ever hit at the MLB level – Cortes serves as a nice depth piece with some upside.
