When I was younger I never understood why Arenas wasn’t as successful of a player. It all makes sense now.
Edit: For everyone saying it was injuries, I get it but he was about 25 or so when he was injured and he showed flashes of still being able to play after he came back. I’m not suggesting he should’ve had an HOF career after the injury but he wasn’t even serviceable which didn’t make any sense whatsoever to me at the time. He was about 30 when he went to play in China. I just remember Shaun Livingston suffered that horrific injury and at 30 he was 6MOTY candidate helping GSW win championships. Grant Hill went through what seemed like a decade without playing and found his way back to be a contributor.
Now it all makes sense why Gil wasn’t built that way.
