“Perry Minasian said it was really important for the group to play meaningful games in August/September. When I asked if he thinks that includes October this year, Minasian said “I don’t make predictions.””
im so tired of this owner. I cant wait for the certain announcement one day. ya’ll know which one
Potentially competitive is a more accurate statement, but that does look like “really” competitive when you’ve been worthless for a decade.
At least he didn’t try to buy a bunch.
“we’re obviously really competitive”
says the GM of the team currently sitting in 11th place in the 15-team american league, with a -66 run differential, while, hold on (checks notes), LITERALLY EVERY FREAKING TEAM AHEAD OF US IN THE STANDINGS GOT BETTER IN SOME WAY VIA TRADES TODAY, meanwhile we did *not* try to improve appreciably (as had been implied by multiple reporters was the team’s plan, however ill-advised that would have been), nor did we trade expiring assets to build for the future, but instead we, uh (checks notes again), picked up a backup infielder hitting .152 but who had more years of team control than the current backup infielder

If we’re obviously really competitive then why not add? He can’t seriously believe that
He really is handcuffed and doing the best he can
Are they at least gonna go waiver fishing for like Alex Verdugo or something? We are essentially getting 0 production from one of our outfield spots
lmao angel players get to say “i want to be here” during media and just won’t get traded. must be nice.
Arte to Perry: “Now you go out there and tell them we’re winning the World Series goddammit!”
Delusion from top to bottom

He’s trying to keep the team motivated. What do you want him to say “we couldn’t get anything, so didn’t want to do something to do something”
Delusional ass front office ffs
Playing under 500. Which means mostly losing.
“Really competitive”
We’re obviously really competitive, we have the 11th best record of 15 teams in the AL.
What a mess
Wonder if they have an open bar in the front office building…
SELL THE TEAM!!! If they ever sell the team I’ll livestream myself getting an Angels tattoo at the game with the most joy ever seen on camera. The kind of bliss that can only come from Moreno no longer owning the Team.

same front office that let ohtani’s contract expire so not too surprising tbh
It’s unfortunate when your favorite team has an inept owner like this. Although I’m sure most of us have been Angels fans long enough to know this is par the course for him. It’s horrible but this is just how things are.
We were so worried about buying or selling we forgot option 3: nothing

Fuck it you guys I’m in.
53-56 and we are “ really competitive” lololol
What team is he watching?
We are in baseball purgatory.
Imagine being Jansen, who signed here laughing going “I get it, sign me and flip me this summer. No problem!”
