Padres Make More Moves! Ryan O’Hearn & Ramón Laureano Traded from Orioles
FT breaking news. There are no Padres’s PO prospects left. The Padres’s have nobody to play their minor league games. Uh they they traded their whole farm system and I love it. I love it. I love it because they just had a draft where they signed 20 other ones. They just resto restock. Good stuff from Robert Murray covering this team and Ken Rosenthal. Robert Murray on the Ryan O’Harn pickup. And then Ken reports, “AJ Prowler never stops.” Uh, and gives credit to Robert for nailing this one. Source confirms the Pods are acquiring O’Harn and Raone Lauraniano from the Orioles. By the way, I’ve never seen Robert without a hat on. He’s got better hair than you and he’s got bigger biceps than you, Scott, so he must know what he’s doing. Better sources, too. Seriously, the Padres’s never unbelievable. Yeah, it’s unbelievable. Better sources, but not bigger biceps. I’ve seen Robert a lot. I’ve seen Scott a lot. Robert’s doing this one in that picture. He’s doing this one. Oh, they bring out. Yeah. Yeah. I can’t do that. Oh, that’ll turn into a meme if I try to do that. Can’t do that. Anyway, Ryan O’Harn hit a freaking tank yesterday. Pop. Some big boy pop. He’s an all-star. Now he joins the Padres’s party, which up until the last few days had been a problem, the offense. Yeah. Well, Orianiano slots into left field for him and O’Harn can slot into DH. Boom. Boom. They’re they’re and they got a catcher and they got a stud closer and they got another starter and yeah, they gave up prospects but prospects from whatever. Yeah. And we’re all still looking around like are they going to do something else? Yeah. Oh, they are this. No. When came on like I think they’re done. No chance they’re done. They’re gonna they’re going to come up with something else. Two minutes from now. It’s going to be like breaking news. Padre’s trade. Don Diego to Boston for well but like what else do they need to do at this point? Restock their farm system. Trading Dylan Cease to the Astros. There it is right there. John Ay. Oh my gosh. But it’s not done. The Dylan CE talks, that’s not a thing yet. No, those are just rumors. What’s real is that they got O’Harn and Lauraniano, which you could make a case was the top need for this team heading into yesterday. They definitely needed some offensive up. Maybe a catcher or a left fielder. And they got both. They got both. The National League, baby. Good luck making it through that land of land of living giants. Holy cow. How about the NL West? Can they win the NL West? Okay, but you got Padres’s, Dodgers, Cubs, Brewers, Mets, Phillies. Padres’s are three games back of the Dodgers. But I’m just saying those six teams are probably going to be your six playoff teams. Yeah. Look at what four today. A lot. A lot in the last day and a half. A lot. Right. And then the other two, I don’t know what they’re doing, but as somebody wrote, the Cubs are finalizing a deal. They’ll send breakfast in bed to Jet Oyer as he is just now about to wake up. That’s so funny. There’s six Padres’s Dodgers matchups left this season. I know. I have one of them. I can’t wait. Oh, you have one for Fox. Nice. August one or the August? Yeah, it’s the A Oh, so it’s soon. Yeah. Saturday, August 16th if you want to hear AJ call. I have the next one. 23rd. Oh. Oh, the Oh, the late August one. Yep. Yep. Saturday, August 23rd. Dodgers Padres’s on FS1. Uh here’s the standings. three-game separation between the Dodgers and the Padres’s. Everybody boohooing all off season. Oh, the Dodgers are going to win the division by 50 games. I mean, the Padres’s have had quite the trade deadline compared to the Dodgers. Dodgers had arguably less holes to fill. They’re waiting for a lot of pitching to come back. But what did you tell me about injured pitchers? They don’t always come back. They don’t always come back. That’s wild. And for the Orioles, they are unloading all of these short-term pieces. It’s funny, Raone Lauraniano is having a great year for Baltimore. That was a nice pickup for them. He’s got a cheap option for next year. I think he does. So, the Orioles are trading pieces away for 26. But we matched that. We said, why would you pick that guy up? Not that he’s not a good player, just that was the one didn’t need more outfield. But I guess it kind need an outfielder though. That’s the difference. He was saying in the off season when the Orioles were making their dumb moves. This one actually worked out for them in terms of the player producing. We just thought that they had a log jam with talent and you know eventually turned into not that they’re the same position, but a guy like Kobe Mayo who hasn’t hit yet saying, “Hey, when are you going to give a shot to some of us?” Plus yeah sters before that they had just signed Tyler O’Neal who right is now healthy and hit four homers in consecutive games so true just stay healthy stay healthy but he’s got I think a player option for the next couple years so he’s gonna stick with that for now who O’Neal signed a three signed a long-term deal like a threeyear deal three or four years maybe I’m pretty nerdy I’m pretty sure that there’s an option three years. Hold up. Three years, $49.5 million. Opt out after year one. So, it’s But obviously, I think he’s going to stay $16.5 million each season. He hasn’t played enough this year to hit free agency again, don’t you think? Yeah. So, he’s he’s staying there for the next couple seasons. That’s why they’re not trading him. But if you’re the Padres’s, you have a very different looking team for the And that includes their farm system. That MGM with this tweet, Padres’s farm system after the deadline. One lonely kid or Chihuahua because that’s their El Paso team logo. Yeah, they trade everybody. If I’m a big league player, trade everybody. I don’t care about prospects. Don’t talk to me about next year. Am I wrong, Chris? Don’t talk to me. Don’t talk to me about next year, five years from now. I got I got this. I got this year and that’s it. You can’t say it. You can’t say it loud enough. Needs to hear. We need that megaphone at the bottom of the screen. It is not against the prospects. It is not against the future. Of course, all these Padres’s guys, they want to win. They signed up for 10, 11, 12 years. They signed up for the money, yes, but they also signed up because they feel like it’s a place that they’re going to win more than one year. You know what? You get these rentals in, it doesn’t work out this year, do it again next year because there will be more minor league players to play. And in most of these trades, the teams don’t give up their top few prospects. The Padres’s did give up their top prospects. The Yeah, but this is the way looks at it. I can just find other ones. I can find other He just signed 20 draft picks and plus plus uh the Latin America signings. That’s his strength. So he sign he signs 20 new prospects and Latin America and all the guys got to do all these guys got to do is go out next year and I don’t know what the Padres’s job look like because I don’t follow it that closely. But all the some of these guys got to do is go out and bang for one year and guess what can trade him again next year for more players that are proven. I’d rather have proven players. I’d rather have proven players than prospects. Just saying, but that’s my and I love this. There you go. The lonely cat. Padres’s can. Okay, so you guys didn’t think the Mariners are a World Series contender. I do. Padres’s are a World Series contender. Depends on on if King comes back. Yes. And Darvish gets better. Even if Dar Well, Darvish was better last start. But he let’s say Darvish is is not let’s say he’s a four. Well, let’s see what they do with C’s. Okay. Their bullpen is good enough. Yes. Their lineup is improved. Yes. I got to see what they do starting wise. They have the best bullpen in baseball. That’s what I’m saying. Their bullpen is Yes. Okay. Their lineup significantly improved today. Mhm. significantly.
The Padres continue their trade deadline frenzy, acquiring Ryan O’Hearn and Ramón Laureano from the Orioles to bolster their offense. Foul Territory breaks down the aggressive moves by A.J. Preller, what these additions mean for San Diego’s playoff chances, and whether the Padres are now legit World Series contenders. Plus, the crew reacts to the Orioles’ decision to move short-term pieces and the Padres’ complete overhaul of their farm system.

Ramóóóóóóón!!!
Who are the Dodgers getting for May in Boston?
Idk what the orioles are doing anymore bro
Someone needs to tell Elias that Parades are better than prospects.
As an Orioles fan the part of the trade that ticks me off was Laureano. He has a cheap club option that they could have exercised.
Padres look dangerous now…
We still got Ethan Salas. Find a catbox, cat!
They said that about the padres last year when we traded a bunch of prospects…they said, "they depleted the farm, the future, blah blah blah." And what happened this year, we had a bunch of prospects to make more trades!
Laureano signing came in handy when Cowser broke his finger early on. Part of why Ramon got so much playing time. Honestly worked out for both teams.
Coby mayo has “hit yet”
