Marcus Mbow on Going Up Against Abdul Carter at Practice | New York Giants

How’s camp going? It’s going well. Loving it. You know, playing football. Can’t beat it. How’s been adjusting to the speed a little bit? Uh, it’s been smooth. I mean, that’s really, you know, one of the main reasons I was looking forward to becoming a pro, just being able to go against better competition day in day out. So, I feel like I’m doing a good job adjusting to tempo of things. How was it for you to get to square up against Abdul as much as you do? Uh, it’s good. I mean, he’s a great player, you know, extremely fast, a lot of bend. So, it’s good to be able to go against him and iron sharp as I daily. So, what do you see from him as a player compared to maybe like obviously we have a couple rippies coming in, but just like the way he goes about one-on- ones or just reps. Yeah, I mean, you know, not a lot of people can move the way he does, you know, he’s a very fast, very explosive cat. Uh, he’s able to bend the edge very well, so like being able to go against that and being able to fight over the top of the rush, players like that. What do you do for that bend Ben? Yeah, for his Ben. It’s just out working, you know. It’s it’s tough to to see something like that and you just got to be able to, you know, put your hands in the right place and run around the corner. What’s uh what’s the one thing you’ve learned from training camp and you’re sort of working on here? Um I mean just getting better each day. You know, I wouldn’t say there’s one thing in specific that I’ve learned yet, but you know, just getting better each day all around. You know, getting stronger, getting better at technique. You know, that’s really the the main goal for me. You prefer playing on the right side. I mean, that’s obviously most if not all of your reps so far. Is that that make it easier that I guess like you’re most familiar with that side? Uh, I mean, I’ve been playing the right side the past couple years, but I really just go wherever Karm tells me to, you know, so at the end of the day, I’m going to do what he says. You’ve had a couple practices with Tads now. What do you make of just like growth from day one of that and Monday to to Friday? It’s been good. Uh I feel like I’ve been taking good strides each day and that’s really what it’s all about, you know, being able to put the the coaching points and being able to move past your failures each day. In regards to playing on the right side, one more thing about that. I’m I’m curious, do you you know, obviously you have to flip, you know, your hands and stuff when you as if you’re going to go on the left side. Do you work on both or do you just right for right now at least exclusively focusing on like you know your positioning from the right side? Yeah, I work on both. Work right and left and facing a duel. I know guys talked about like how he sets up his moves or has multiple different moves. What’s impressed you about that part of his game? Uh just the ability to counter. I feel like you know it’s kind of just like effortless. You know being able to go from one move to the next just being able to continuously working. I think that’s probably the most impressive thing about it.
