St. Louis Cardinals vs San Diego Padres – FULL GAME HIGHLIGHTS | August 1, 2025 MLB Season
Bunchie. Stepping up to the mic is Don. Don, take it away. Thanks very much, Mudley. Here we go. Pitch one of game one is in there for strike one. We’re underway in San Diego. Reaches out and pokes one to left in the air. Laniano, it finds him. Crowd number one. The Padres’s have for for me, especially joining them on August 1st. Swinging a miss and Herrera strikes out. First K of the night for Nick Petta. How about the video and stuff like that? I mean, you can watch a guy and get a pretty good idea. Driven to deep right field. Back goes Fernando onto the warning track. Makes the catch in front of the fence. There’s Tatis for rise and Machado here in the bottom of the first. And Fernando grounds one right side. Brennan Donovan fires to first for out number one. Fly ball right field. Walker will have room. Takes care of out number one. Arise remains at first base to first. Picked on the back hand by Contrarus and he’ll tag the bag to end the inning. Done with one at San Diego without a score. Moriano in left field tonight and others that AJ Pill was able to acquire significant as he knows he’s 33 years old and Donovan Mud there are a lot of teams who have decided this year they’re just going to fold at the time and early well before the trade deadline last year so I don’t know why I’m amazed but I always seem to be this is across the diamond from Manny Machado. Nobody does it better to right and Fernando coming in. He’ll get there. Makes the catch and ends the inning. It’s a 10 pitch inning. Scoreless his head and hopefully continues into a nice playoff run. There’s a drive out of deep center field off the bat of Xander Bogarts and back there to make the catch as Scott against the wall. They appear to have rectified that situation. Swinging a miss here though. Moriano strikes out as Liberator gets him. Two pitch in the air down the left field line. Berles over towards the corner will make the catch for out number three. Walker lifts it in the air to right field. Fernando in a step or two now over a step or two for out number one. He’ll pick you up. Two two in the air to center field. Jackson Merrill for out number two to the future. Not a strike three. Second strikeout for Nick Pavetta of the night. He’s retired. The first nine Cardinals were scoreless in San Diego game. Pops it up. Brendan Donovan the second baseman with his feet on the grass and the one two to Diaz. Fly ball right field. Jordan Walker over towards the line will make the catch for out number two. You know, certainly the years of control are a big part of this. He’s out to right field. Room for Jordan Walker on the edge of the track to make the catch that will end the inning. Eight in a row. Retired by Liberator or scoreless either for that matter. So, anytime you can shorten the game, this one is second base. Cronorth two down. More stable than just his four horsemen as he likes to refer to it. But it’s significantly different now. Rise is going to take it himself to the bag. Hitting over retired the first 12 as part of this fourth inning. 3-2. He grounds one softly and the back hand. Liberator will flip to first. First out of the fourth inning on the ground to third base. To his left is Gorman throws out Machado. Out number two of the fourth inning to short and Mason Win. He’s going to first with it for the out. That’ll wrap up the inning. We’re headed to the fifth without a score to throw the ball the way he did. High drive deep left field. Lauraniano is back and that ball is gone. Wilson Contraras connects on his 15th home run of the year. Had retired the first 12 and with one swing at the bat, the Cardinals take a one- nothing lead. You know, you look at the Cardinals tonight, right? Nice pitch. Nice bounce back from Petta. Third K for Pavetta. Elbates and he chases backto-back strike out for Pavetta. Gets win. Now Gorman. Two down in the inning. Good. Walker fly out to right in the third. Sends one to deep right field here sending Fernando back. Gaboom chie of the track makes the catch and ends the inning. just guys that you’re looking up and it’s it’s one pennant race. Guys that have a chance to put their stamp on this team in this city for multiple years. That’s kind of balancing the now with the future. That was a big part of it. Browns went softly towards third. Nolan Gorman on the run and off the glove of Curus at first base gets away. Cronorth will take third and round it. Now a throw across the diamond gets away. Here comes Cronorth to tie the score at one. Contrarus may have two errors on the same play to left center field and that’ll get in for a base hit. From second base comes a glaciius as Padres’s take a 2-1 lead. Elias Diaz driving in the go ahead run. Base is loaded. One out. A one-two pitch. Swinging a miss and he strikes out Pachado in a sinker. Line to center. Big hit for Merrill. From third comes Diaz. Here comes Fernando. Padres’s take a 4-1 lead. In the air to right field as Jordan Walker makes his way in and makes the catch. Round number three. He’s pitching. He can lift it up and look at center field. Jackson Merrill. Round number one. Fly ball short right. Cronorth going out calling and catching out number two. Left and lined out to shortstop. It’s a fly ball short left. Luriano coming in and he’ll make the catch. It’s a 1, two, three, six on 10 pitches. That’s along with those singles to center and Victor Scott back a step or two. for the first down of the sixth inning. Codor strikes out for out number two to right. Walker back to make the catch for out number three through six in San Diego. Padres’s have a 4-1 lead going right after him. Fly ball center field has Jackson Merrill back shy of the track for out number one. Pelt it down at the knees with that downward plane. Watch out. Elevates and gets into strike out. Back to back outings. July 8th and the 13th. There’s a grounder to second. Cronorth on to first. It’s another one two three inning for Nick Pav. Little bit too much stickum. It just didn’t wasn’t slippery. Now ball backhanded. Win shows off that arm and throws out a rise. Two down. That is strike three. Jackson knew it. And that’ll end the seventh inning. We’re going to the eighth. It’s getting late. Padres have a 4-1 lead. There’s a one hopper off the glove of Machado into center field. Wind to third base. A bobble out there. Lauriano with a bobble and it’s first and third with nobody out here. Walker back goes flying over by the on deck circle. Ball goes fouled but having to vacate the area was posing a miss. He struck him out. hits a ground ball towards third base. Manny Machado goes to second for one on the first. Picked by Arise. That’s a double play. Nice pick by Arise at first base. Fly ball to right field as Walker heads over onto the dirt of the track to make the catch. Tang at second base and moving to third is Bogurts for St. Louis. And a ground ball to shortstop looks to back at third. fires to first for out number two. Line to center. Scott is there to make the catchy cap high to end the healing pad. To left struck pretty well towards the corner. Lauraniano back in the corner to make the catch. First down of the ninth inning. Back to first goes Scott. One away. On the ground to third base, Machado to second for one onto first. That’s two. And it’s the ball game. Padres’s win. In the eighth, they went 543. In the ninth, they go 543.
