🚨Tua Tagovailoa Continues To Dominate! Dolphins Training Camp Reaction + Dolphins Injury News

Before we get into today’s training camp updates, I want to make sure you are subscribed to the channel here at Dolphins Today because we are putting out two videos almost every single day with training camp updates, news, we’ll have highlights. So, make sure you join the channel for daily coverage. Today’s update comes around RQB1 Tua Tong of Aaloa because he has been dominating Dolphins training camp in the first seven practices and this was practice number eight for Miami, the third with pads on and he is continuing to dominate once again. It’s an absolute beautiful sight to see RQB1 just really being the leader and being the efficient quarterback that we need him to be. This is something that we’ve seen in the past for sure, but after last season’s up and downs, missing six games, him bouncing back, leading this team, and being really, really solid in practice, I think arguably the team’s best player. Well, that is exactly what we needed to see. There has been absolutely no turnovers for this Dolphins offense when Tua is at the helm. Zero INTS through the first eight practices. And I don’t care who you are as a quarterback. That is actually just flatout impressive. The best quarterbacks in the game will consistently make mistakes in training camp because usually when you are in training camp, you try things to see what you can get away with when you actually step onto the football field in real action. Well, Tua has still been the accurate, efficient, decisive quarterback that we hope him to be and we’ve seen him be in the past. And this is where we really turn to Anua. This is what we’ve seen so far in the first week and a half of Dolphins training camp. He’s exercised great leadership. I will continue to go back and point towards him not calling Tyreek Hill out, but when asked about his relationship with Tyreek after the last season concluded, he said that they’re still building it and it has to get bounced back up because you can’t just ignore what Tyreek Hill said at the end of the season against the New York Jets. And Tyreek Hill at media today actually said Tua has been a great leader and he believes that Tua needed to say that and he’s been a great leader. But I talk about the pinpoint accuracy. I talk about the decisive decision-making from Tua. It’s just been over all around really really impressive. And if we’re going to be honest here, we know that Tua can be this type of guy consistently. we saw in 2023 when he led the NFL in passing yards and the Dolphins made the playoffs with double-digit wins. I am just begging him to stay healthy. I know it’s a big if because he has not shown the ability to stay consistently healthy, but if he does, this Dolphins football team will absolutely have a winning record. In Tua’s career, he is 38 and 24 as a starter. That is so so impressive. So when he plays, the Dolphins win. And if he plays 17 games this year, I don’t think there’s a world where Miami is anything worse than nine and eight. I really don’t believe that could be the case because we’ve just seen Tua win consistently when he’s on the football field. Let’s move on from Tua and get to another player that is highlighting here at Dolphins training camp and that is the recently signed quarterback Jack Jones. He was signed last Saturday morning alongside Mike Hilton. That came after Arty Burns’s injury. out for the year. Kater Kohus’s injury out for the year. So you added Jones and Hilton to replace those two. And both of them I would say would be projected starters right now. Mike Hilton is obviously a longtime veteran who has started in the nickel and been one of the best in football. So obviously he is the replacement for Kater Coo. But Jack Jones is coming in and I think that he is probably gonna be your starting boundary corner or at least one of them based on what we’ve seen in his first full week of practices in a Dolphins uniform. He tweeted this out after the first day that he practiced with Miami. Y’all woke me up. I’m not playing about this I love the confidence from Jack Jones. And then he said this as well earlier in the week when asked about why he’s on his third team in four years. remember drafted in the middle rounds by the Patriots. Started some games there. Was released midway through the 2023 season. Had a great second half of 2023 with the Raiders, but then had an up and down 2024 campaign before being waved earlier this year. He said, “With the talent that he has, I shouldn’t be on three teams in four years. It lit a spark under me to do the right thing on and off the field.” And that is a quote that if he lives by it, could really provide dividends for Miami. And it’s the part about being off the field because Jack Jones has been a little bit of a headcase at times in the locker room and he has some antics on the football field. I love the passion. I love the fire that he plays with, but he just has to realize and recognize when to tone it in, take a breather, and not cost himself and his team yardage by making boneheaded plays. And throughout this week at training camp, I think he’s been the best corner. We’ve seen Storm Duck make some plays. Mike Hilton is coming on as of late, but ever since Jack Jones has started practicing with the Miami Dolphins, I truly believe he’s been the best corner on the football team. And that is why as we continue to progress closer to training camp or preseason, I should say, and roster cutdown day in late August. I would pencil in Jack Jones as one of your starting corners right now in week one against the Indianapolis Colts. But what say you? Should Jack Jones be a starter? Pin comment on today’s show. Type Y for yes or type N for no based off what I’ve seen and heard to this point. I’m typing my Y’s, but let me know your thoughts. Brief kind of talking point here with Patrick Paul because he has been dominating one-on ones with offensive line versus defensive line players all week long. Ever since the pads came on, he has been a different player. And I think that is where Paul really excels. his strength, his like core power is just unmatched. That was one of his stronger selling points coming out of the draft in 2024 when he was a second round pick out of Houston. So to continuing to see him just put in good efforts and good reps day in day out just continues to solidify my optimism for him replacing Terron Armstead as the Dolphins next franchise left tackle. We’ll switch from a positive notes because we’ve been pretty positive on Paul, on Jack Jones, and Tua on today’s show to a little bit of a concerning note because Jaylen Wright has had some good moments, but he’s had some pretty bad moments as well. And I don’t think he’s been putting together the best week of Dolphins training camp, if we’ll be honest. He’s had some nice plays in the passing game for sure, but he’s had a couple fumbles, man. Back-to-back days. Now, the Dolphins didn’t practice on Thursday, but on Wednesday and Friday, he had fumbles. And today, he and Tua, I don’t know if it was a miscommunication. It was a little bit of a confusing tweet. It was either a bobbled exchange or Zack Seer stripped right. The ball popped in the air. Bradley Chub picked it up and walked in for a touchdown for the defense. So, I will say he fumbled on Wednesday. He fumbled on Friday. I don’t want this to be a theme that continues throughout the month of August. Like Jaylen Wright, a player that I projected to be the RB2 in Miami, might not ultimately be the second RB for the Fins because Alexander Madison has been absolutely terrific. He has had multiple chunk plays in the running game over the middle of the field. He has just been solid in every facet of the game. Like I’m really excited to see Madison who is signed in for ANC to be this football’s team short yardage back. I think he’s gonna excel in that role and he could be a nice change of pace to Devon Han and Jaylen Wright assuming Wright does still have a heavy workload. I know it’s been a little bit of a disappointing week for him, but I still anticipate him getting a lot of reps. Some injury news that I have to note in a little bit of a scary situation here, but Mohammad Kamar, the secondyear edge out of Colorado State, walked off practice with a trainer to an ambulance. Now, David Ferrones kind of, I guess, said it could be an IV. I mean, he didn’t know. He was just speculating. Um, but he’s not sure. Said he’s walking fine. Now, I was a little bit nervous because as we were scripting this and I was about to go film, there was no update on Mo Camaro, but literally as I was walking into the studio, Barry Jackson had the report that Mo Kamar, who walked to an ambulance during practice, is actually okay. So, that’s good news because the secondyear guy is trying to make this Dolphins 53man roster. I believe he will, but I don’t think he’s in line for a guaranteed role, so he needs to be out there. And I’m just glad he is healthy and he’s going to be able to continue to practice and not have to miss time. All right, five other practice takeaways to round out the show. Zach Wilson was a little bit shaky today. So is Quinn Eert. I got to be honest, both QB2 and QB3 were a little bit shaky. It just shows you the difference between Tua who is a starting caliber quarterback in the National Football League compared to backups and rookie developmental guys and Quinners and Zack Wilson. Tua has just been so damn good so far. But Wilson, it’s so fascinating with me because sometimes he’ll make unbelievable throws and showcase that arm talent and then sometimes he’ll just miss easy ones. There was one play that I’ll highlight right now where he had an easy touchdown to Devon Achan but threw it behind him and it ended up getting batted down but if he threw it on him and let him a little bit it’s an easy touchdown. The Dline I think is going to be as advertised usually and so far the defensive line has really been dominating training camp. Today was the first day reported that the Dolphins starting O line clearly had the better day. Now, I think it’s going to be something to monitor and it’s tough to really decide. Is it because this Dolphins Dline is that good or is the O line a little bit underwhelming? I do think it’s because this Dline is so good. Bradley Chub has been making plays. Jaylen Phillips, Chop Robinson has been dominant throughout the first week and a half. And then you’ve seen Kenneth Grant and Zack Cer make plays as a nice duo on the interior. Now, I haven’t heard much about Bonito Jones, which signifies to me I would expect Kenneth Grant to be a starting defensive lineman right away. And Bonito Jones would be that one tech nose tackle run stopper in those specific run running down situations. But this defensive line, I think, is going to be menacing. I think it’s going to be one of the best front fours, front fives in the entire NFL. The wide receiver Miami signed in for agency to a two-year deal. Nick Westerkini, I think, is really starting to find his stride. He had a couple touchdowns today. Uh, he had a couple really nice plays on Wednesday as well. I think most beat reporters are agreeing with me here that NWI is really starting to find himself in this offense. You knew Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Wadd, those two top wide receivers you have, but you think about who’s that wide receiver three. It could have been either him or Malik Washington. Westber Aini has just been absolutely terrific so far. I can’t wait to see him really provide a different type of wide receiver for Miami due to his size and physicality. Tight end Tanner Connor had a really nice day. Caught a 26-yd pass, caught another touchdown. This tight end room is so like humble jumbled right now. Darren Waller still on the pup list. Pharaoh Brown, Tanner Connor, Julian Hill have been your top three tight ends to this point. I mean, these guys are not anything special. We know that. But Connor has been continuing to put together some nice days. Frell Brown had a couple nice catches. Julian Hill had a couple receptions as well. Like this tight end room is going to be a massive talking point this entire month due to no Noah Fant and with Darren Waller continuing to be on the pup list. We’ll see who really takes over as that tight end one. Frell Brown and Julian Hill are fighting for that inline spot, but Connor could be a really nice receiving threat at that position. Final practice takeaway today. I think as we’re currently sitting, D Escer is your wide receiver five. We know the Dolphins top four, NWI, Malik Washington, Jaylen Wadd, Tyreek Hill, but I have consistently talked about this wide receiver five battle. And you could talk about UDFA wide receiver Theo East Jr., DD Egridge, the secondyear seventh round pick, Taj Washington. I think without a question, it’s been D. Easridge so far. He has made consistent plays. He is able to provide you with some special teams value. Taj Washington had a nice 50-yard touchdown earlier in the week. That’s really the only time he’s made any moves. If I had the power rank, the top seven wide receivers on this Dolphins roster right now, it’d be Wadd Hill 1 A1B. I’d put Nick Westbrook Keiny 3, Malik Washington 4, DGridge five, I’d put Theo Whis Jr. six, and then probably Taj Washington 7 with Andrew Armstrong or AJ heading at wide receiver eight. and then Azukama battling it out for number nine or number 10. That’s how deep this room is and that’s where things stand currently in my opinion as of Friday morning. Rounding out the show officially right now. 1. Same old same old, we are gonna waste our time on tua who is made of glass and we are gonna lose again.
He can’t stay healthy and he never beats the good teams when it matters.
Time to switch qbs and move on from a guy who is made of glass.
I’m sure he is a great guy and has a good heart but his body is cooked.
You never heal from concussions they just get worse and worse and easier and easier to get.
Doing good in training camp vs in a real game two different things .

  2. You talk about the key to a successful season is keeping Tua healthy. The key to keeping Tua healthy is insisting that Tua wears the Guardian style helmet whether he wants to or not. He is being paid way too much money to be playing without that helmet. He has a target on his back and on his helmet. There is no doubt, certain defenders have intentionally thrown Tua down onto his back with the intention of giving him another concussion. Refs need to penalize and even eject these players for these potentially deadly plays.

  3. Maybe the game is starting to slow down for him but then again on the other hand with the secondary room that we got who the health couldn't dominate that s*** man you should dominated with that secondary we got

  4. Ok…I can see that Nic is making a hard effort to keep the ship afloat. He has repeatedly said how his ā€œbossesā€ want this and that about likes and subs. Here is the issue….there is no video content. It’s just watching Nic regurgitate the same stuff everyday trying to make 2 videos a day. Where are the training camp videos….he did this, he did that…this player looked good…this player is not looking good. There is so much video out there in camp…other sites about equal or even worst showing us what they are talking about. Is there some reason Chat Sports can’t show camp highlights?? I feel this site would grow much faster if we could see what you are talking about out…not just listening to you guys saying it. Am I wrong? Anyone else feel like camp content videos would make things much more interesting? Love Phins, Go Phins

  5. The best corner on the team, Jones, is a head case. An 8 year old in a man's body. Perfect because that's over half the NFL these days. No one will even notice he's still a child and will always behave like one. He'll fit right in with the dolphins, Cam Smith and almost all the G.M.'s draft picks. Jimmy Johnson told a colleague to hit him in the with a hammer if he ever thought about picking another dumb player. Coaching has no effect on them. Just look at the bust's the Dolphins pile up, it's not because of the 40 time or vertical jump. They can't play football because it takes brains to know where to go, where to be. Ask Zack about the game, then ask…never mind. Need a new G.M. to build a real team to win a playoff game. It's not the players, not their fault, it's the numskull picking them.

  6. Now we just have to hope management is better. Team management was horrible last year with almost nobody ready to play football on this team. I hope they turned that around. Usually we complain about players and players do have to be held accountable but I thought the team management was worse than the players last year. But I remain optimistic that this season will be different, I never like going into a season saying it will be the same as last year.

  7. How many completions did tua have that was thrown 20+ yards in the air, cause if all he was throwing was 3 to 5 yard slants then it will be the same as last year……

  8. Dominate nothing. Anybody that takes stock in any of these practices is a fool. All that matters is stay healthy. All these talking heads are just wasting air.
