Let’s start making you some uh some fat amounts of cash going forward. We’re not even going to wait till football season. We’re going to start right here with this matchup between the Washington Nationals and the Milwaukee Brewers. The Washington Nationals sending out Jake Irvin for the start in this one while the Brewers will counter with Brandon Woodruff. And Irvin was really good last time out against the Minnesota Twins. Gave up two runs on five hits over seven innings of work. Only had two strikeouts though. The strikeout numbers haven’t necessarily been there for Jake Irvin, but he hasn’t necessarily been a strikeout dependent pitcher. you know, 86 strikeouts and 126 and two/3 innings so far this season, but again, pitched very, very well in that start, but now faces a Brewers team that he’s had issues with in his career has Jake Urban. I mean, his last four starts against the uh the Brewers, all losses. His last five starts against Milwaukee, 0 and4 with a 5.84 erra, only 20 strikeouts to 13 walks, four home runs allowed in those outings as well. And I just think that he has some more issues here. here. I mean, he did face the uh the Brewers right before the All-Star break. Gave up three unearned runs in the loss that ended up being an 8 to1 win for the Milwaukee Brewers in that in that series. But the problem for me is that, you know, you’re facing off against Brandon Woodruff, who admittedly had his shortest start of the season against these uh against these Nationals. It was four and a third innings of two-run ball with 10 strikeouts. But again, remember that’s 10 strikeouts in less than five full innings. So, so of the 13 outs that Woodruff recorded, 10 of them were strikeouts. He absolutely owned this Nationals lineup when he last faced them. And I think he could easily do it again here. I mean, this is a really solid start to the season for Brandon Woodruff. And I just feel like, you know, it’s just hard to ignore what what he’s been doing out of the game. I mean, this is a guy that came back from a significant injury and has shown no real signs of any sort of, you know, uh, any sort of rust, you know, early on this season. So, I just think this is a a tough matchup. I just don’t trust Jake Irvin to match zeros with Brandon Woodruff. When it comes down to it, I think the Brewers do have the better bullpen by a fair margin in this one. And I also trust the the Brewers offensively, I think, right now, more against right-handed pitching. You know, the problem for the for the Nationals has just been that the offense at times can stall. And even though they are hitting 257 against righties in the last couple weeks, basically since the All-Star break, the the Brewers are hitting 274. And like I said, I trust them a lot more at the plate right now. So, give me the Brewers in this one, and that’s going to be my free pick.
