Yankees vs. Marlins Game Highlights (8/1/25) | MLB Highlights

The week of emotional pulse continues for Jansen Junk. He faced the team he debuted with in the Milwaukee Brewers last week. Junk now faces the team. He was drafted in the 2017 draft chopper to first Eric Wagman sits back, got it, flips it to junk. And here’s Jason dominguez Dominguez with a chopper out to second Edwards takes care of that. There’s two away Cody Bellinger , he’s on a heater. He has really been getting it done. 12, that one. He sprays out to left pretty deep but ballpark holding this Kyle Sto’s back, he makes the grab and it’s a 123 1st for Jansen Jung again against the team that drafted carlos Rodon. He got the only win against the Philadelphia Phillies at the stadium. He’s been pitching pretty well. Two pitch line drive right at Jazz. He’s playing to the right of second base makes the catch and there one out, two to two swing and a miss got him Ramirez down on strikes and here is hernandez 31 pitch swing on, hit down to third backhanded by Mcmahon steps in the throw. There’s a sinker and Goldie Digs it out, handled it 123 in the first go. The Marlins we go to inning number two. John Carlos Stanton returns to Miami tonight where he spent his first eight seasons. That’s for the former Marlin said 112 career home receiver alone Depot Park in his career and he swings a fastball strike 34 up and four down for junk and from one former Marlin to another. Now here is Jazz Chisholm Jr Jazz lost one into shallow left. The all star kyle has got it. Here’s Goldschmidt 32 is a called third strike dotted heater at the knees and on the outside edge, Goldschmidt doesn’t love it. Junk does. He walks off the hill 123 with a couple of punch outs. Here’s dave myers, the right field, a right hand hitter, high fly ball, deep center Grisham back on the track. He has room and he makes the play for out. Number two. Here’s Kyle Stour. Their power guy. Here’s the 12 pitch swinging in on this breaking ball. Great job by Carlos Rodon. That’s a couple of strikeouts for him. Six up, six down. And that’s a big K to get stour. Anthony Volpe is up a young shortstop, 16 home runs. 58 RBIs 10 pitch high pop up in the infield, curving toward the Yankee dugout, reaching for room and making the catch is eric Wagman just in front of that Yankee dugout for the second out here’s Austin Wells, the catcher 15 home runs, a little ground ball. We’ll talk about it later. It goes to Wagman. He’s going to take it himself an easy 123 innings here for Jansen will go to the bottom of the third at Long Depot. No score on the radio. Pitchers still thus far nine up nine down for Jensen Junk. Four, Carlos RNA of the Yankees , six up six down, both have two strikeouts. Eric Wag in the first baseman for Miami is going to lead it off right hand hitter hitting at 235 swings and drives one down the line left field. That’s pretty good. Carry into the corner and Dominguez right in front of the 344. So in foul territory, he makes the catch one out really nice play by dominguez took a great route, something that he is getting better and better at one. Did he go? He did his first base umpire alex mckay. That’s a punch down for Carlos Rodon and here comes Jacob Marcy making his major league debut telling you what Kyle, you can’t feel your feet right now if you’re Jacob Marcy standing in the box 32 putting together a good at bat and he watches it outside ball. Four, great job. Tell you what, when we’re in the situation, he’s in major league debut. 3 to 2 here to Edwards man at first. No score, bottom three pitch from Rodon swing and a miss up top of the fastball nicely done. Fourth strikeout for Carlos. So what a little bit of a threat that could have been is extinguished. Grisham is up. He’s zero for one. His pitch driven in the right field that will get down one hop off the fence. Grisham will shut it down with a long loud single to get the Yankees going here in the fourth inning. There’s Jason dominguez grounded out to second. A base hit for dominguez Grisham will stop at second as myers comes up for him back to back singles to open up the fourth and again, the 12 coming from Junk De Bellinger from the year to right Myers going back and he’s got it shy of wall. Grisham will go to third strong throw in from Myers Bellinger just missed a three run homer that would have been his 21st of the season. What out here’s Giancarlo when first and third, Werner goes from first throw to second, not nearly in time. So the Yankees have runners at 2nd and 3rd 1 out now here in the fourth and Stan has four home runs in his last eight games. The buzz of Yankee fans swung on and hit to left field hit well, pit deep Ryan drive home run to Carlos Stanton. It’s a three run shot here in the fourth inning and the Yankees have the lead three New York. This was a rocket, just a line drive. It looks like Big Gs on one of those rolls his ninth of the year after his boys give him a 30 lead. He walks the leadoff man here in the bottom of the fourth strike three and hernandez knew it back pedaling toward the dugout and an easy stolen base for Augustine Ramirez 32 pitch swing and a miss beating with a fastball number six for road. As we play here in the fourth two down on run comes up in the form of Kyle pits himself into trouble. Now he’s trying to get himself out of it and the 12 pits swing and a miss, he pulled the string on him and had no chance two out two on for the Yankees runners at 1st and 2nd. He got good wills out there and a single here in the fifth runs. He’ll score. Grisham will go to third. It’s an RB I single for dominguez and it’s four. Yanks Yankees lead it 4 to 0. Couple of middle board with two outs. Base hit will be two here, base hit to right field. Grisham scores here comes dominguez. Here’s the throw over to second and the Yankees lead six Bellinger by the way is well over 300 when run is in scoring position, 6 to 0 lead for the Yankees game. One of three here in Miami carlos Rodon. Seven strikeouts, three walks, no runs, no hits bottom. Third of the order here that one lined into left field that is in for a pace, sit on a couple of Hawks that gets to the left fielder dominguez and eric Wagman is aboard the leadoff single warming up five for his last 13, Javier Sola. This is in the air down the right field line, twisting towards the corner and gone for Javier Sonova. That’s his second of the season. This one to the opposite field and it’s 60 two. It just took swing the first game of the game against Rodon followed by the first run against one of the premier left in the game 1st and 2nd 2 outs and that’s going to do it. So he gave Rodon a chance to get the win. The veteran lefty leaves the mound. The Yankees will go to their newly configured bullpen, the 30 year old right hander out of Nicaragua. Jonathan Lois pain have the bases loaded and he’s got a pitch hitter. Myers is done, replaces him in the lineup 353 with runners in scoring position at second on the ballpark in the air, shallow center field could be troubled out for a base hit that will play the pair. Liam Hicks comes through in the clutch for the Marlins. All of a sudden it’s a 64 game here in the fifth tying runs. A board go ahead run at the plate. Home run. Hitter is Kyle ST line drive. Oh, what a snare by Mcmahon? And he turns it into the third. What an outstanding play by ryan Mcmahon runners at the corners, Grisham at the plate. He is trying to build some more separation here driven deep to right field. It’s gone. It is a three run for Guha and the Yankees lead 94, three hits in the seventh inning for the Yankees single, single and Kaboom for the Yankee fans, they’re buzzing now and it’s Jake by making his Yankee debut , Augustin Ramirez, the leadoff Ramirez in here to right field pretty deep. Bellinger goes back gives it a look. It’s off the wall. Ramirez thinks he hit a homer and he’s going to have to settle for a single. That’s a long single there swing and a miss first out for bird first strikeout one down one on here in the seventh. There’s a line shot pace hit over the head of Ryan mcman to left field, ramirez good base runner. He will go to third and sliding into second and he’s safe at second with a double. There’s Otto Lopez a challenging debut for jake Bird as the Pacers are loaded with one out Kyle Stour. He’s their guy, they’re all star. So let’s see what gives here bases loaded kyle Stour. He is their home run guy in the air to left hit it pretty good. Dominguez back track a one run Kyle with his 24th homer. You can’t make this production up. I mean, every single time you think he might be done. He takes your breath away again. Is that not the way you want to have your first game as a new teammate? It’s now a one run game comes David Bednar and he’s got to protect this one run. You got to watch out. He really, really struggles here. So he has a 7.04 a in nine games and thrown right into the fire. Got a different uniform on. Now, Michael is going to change his luck. There you go. Here’s so no, in the air down the left beeld line could be trouble. There just might be a little, something special about these Marlins this year. This guy in 91 major league baseball games had one homer, he had one homer. He’s got two in seven innings tonight. So another pitcher not the debut he’s hoped for everybody hyped it and excited to see the new guys come in and the two new guys give up the farm in the seventh inning, a 99 game. Jacob Marcy finally gets to see a right in his major league debut. This is in the air to deep, right center field. Marcy’s on the board with his first big league knock. This kid can fly. He’ll stop at second. That’s where the go ahead run is at. Then mama Bear can cry again. They get Clayton at the ball, hugs all around and now we go back to the top of the order this time. It’s Edwards. I chopper over the head of Bednar tough play. Both. He can’t handle it. That’ll be a base hit and the Marlins have batted around. They’ve got runners at the corners. Augustine ramirez is up now. He’s one for three with a walk. We’re still only in the seventh inning of one of the wildest games of the year. 1st and 3rd Edwards is going line drive that is a base hit. A take the lead Edwards round second to the third. Ramirez with an RB I single. Miami. This is absolutely insane man. David Bednar hates this place. Bpi’s at the plate. B two for three tonight. Yankees down 10, 9 deep to left field. There it goes a home run for, for a V. That’s his 17th knock three consecutive hits here tonight. And it again a new ball game. You talk about some fireworks in Miami and first sighting of jose Caballero running leading base steer in the American League. There he goes huge jump strike two, no throw stolen base for Cavallero Mcmahon. A base hit will get him a run. Mcmahon needs a knock here. It’s a base hit to center field cro runs third. He will score Mcmahon comes up big with an RB I single and the Yankees lead 1110. So a night that’s been tough for the newbies. One newbie steps up here’s volpe swinging a hot bat 1110, New York fly ball, center field. Beat Marcy back and he can’t make the play. What’s up against the wall scoring is Mcmahon a big turn by Volpi. He’ll head back to second. Four hits for the Yankees shortstop hit RB I double and the Yankees lead 1210 and you don’t see Anthony Volpe get too excited. Boy, he’s grab do and Caballero who scored the decisive run in this game is in right. Aaron Boone said Devin Williams would be his closer, but it’s Duval, another new Yankee who’s on for the save. So now it’s X with runners at 1st and 2nd tying run on base. It shocked me. They came back tonight. It would shock me if they came back and tied it up but it is so on Brandon ground ball through the right side. That’s a base hit. Here comes the no Marcy on his way to third. The ball gets by, the ball gets by. The Marlins have tied it. Edwards will stop it. You are in his first game as a Yankee. Jose Caballero just whipped in right field. The biggest E nine you’ll ever see this whole game kind of has the feel of you’re having a bad dream and you cannot wake up. So the two newcomers in the bullpen have blown it. The new guy in right field who pinch ran to score the go ahead run has blown it. And another new guy in Duval is on the verge of giving it up. The table is set for the former Yankee to win it a comeback in the making for the ages. The 21 chopper out in front of the plate. Oh, that one scores from in the see in from third. This game is over and this team is electric.

  1. I watch from the UK, so I have to stay up until 12:10 just to see the start of the game, by the 5th in I went to bed, when I got up in the morning I checked the score expecting a Marlins lose but then I saw the score and was like wtf happened?!! I should have stayed awake

  2. Despite allowing 12 runs and trailing by as many as six, the Marlins (53-55) rallied late and walked off the Yanks (60-50) on a ball that traveled one foot from home plate.
This is the 1st time the Yankees lost a 9-inning game with 15+ Hits AND 12+ Runs since July 24, 1940 at St. Louis Browns. Javier Sanoja, who stands at 5' 7" and 150 pounds, went 3-for-5 with two dingers and three RBIs. It was Sanoja’s first three-hit game of the season since April 20 against the Phillies and his first multi-homer game of his MLB career, and he entered the game with just one home run on the season. TIME of the game: 3 hours and 43 minutes. ATTENDANCE: 32,299
