Yankees fell apart in ways I can’t comprehend vs. Marlins

Yankees coming off of three wins in a row at home against the Rays. Now they’re in Miami and I mean this game started off really good for the Yankees. They scored three runs right off the bat after a couple singles and a Stantonian blast. Yankees then extend the lead to 6 nothing by putting together some hits without hitting a home run. Something that I always love to see. So it is six to nothing Yankees right now going into the fifth inning. Speaking of not being able to help yourself, Carlos Rodon threw 107 pitches in four and two/3 innings with five walks, two hits, nine strikeouts though, but again couldn’t get through the fifth. And here comes the Yankee bullpen. We start with Leea Marlins cut the lead to 6 to4 after five. But the Yankees, you know what? They’re going to score again. And Trent Gisham hits a threerun home run to give the Yankees a 9 to4 lead. And I swear it feels fake when I say it out loud, but it is reality. Newly acquired Yankees Jake Bird comes into the game out of the bullpen. And don’t blink because that lead disappears so freaking quickly. Single to right, single to left, a walk. And the bases are loaded for Kyle Stoowers who hits a grand slam to make it 9 to8. Just like that, Jason Dominguez just missed it. But just missed it. And into the game comes David Bedner. Newly acquired David Bedar and says up again down the left field line. Could be trouble. Marlins aren’t done though. This is in the air to deep right center field. Marcy’s on the board with his first big league knock. Vulpi then has a little bit of trouble with this one. Would it have been a base hit? I think so. So it actually goes as a base hit, not an error there. And then the Marlins take the lead 10 to nine on a base hit to left field. Insane. Bullpen comes over. Good bullpen comes over. Bullpen blows the lead. And Anthony Vulpi once again comes through with a game-tying home run to make it 10-10. This was a bomb. Uh-oh. And just like that, we are tied at 10. And I am very happy to say this. I criticize the Yankees when they miss all the time. But when I see something that is incredible and that I like to see, I am going to praise it. With two outs, nobody on in the ninth inning. Ben Rice gets a single. Julie acquired Jos Cabayro. Pinch runs and steals second base. His 35th stolen base of the season. Remember this is all with two outs. Ryan McMahon, who the Yankees just traded for, drives him in with a single. It is 11 to 10 Yankees. Vulpi, who already has three hits, the game tying home run earlier, drives in another run here with a double. His fourth hit of the game. Hey, I always get on Vulpy for struggling with the glove, but right now he has been so hot with the bat. Yankees lead 12 to 10 going to the bottom of the ninth. And I’ve done about fucking had it with the New York Yankees with these ups and these downs and these twists and these turns and I’m happy and I’m angry and I’m sad and I’m crying fucking craziness. Yankees up 1210. Bottom of the ninth. Deval’s in. Yankees using all their new toys. Ooh, look at the new shiny fucking toys we get. Let’s see. One out. We’re going to have a base hit. Then we’re going to have a walk. And newly acquired Joseé Cabayro, who I just praised, somehow somehow manages to allow this ball to go under his glove. And every single trade the Yankees made the other day somehow blew this game. I swear to you, I think I’m having a freaking aneurysm. Born anyway from first. Ground ball through the right side. That’s a base hit. Here comes Senoha. Marcy on his way to third. The ball gets by. The ball gets by. The Marlins have tied it. Edwards will stop it. Dur. Never in my life have I seen a team so inconsistent all season, but inconsistent in the same freaking game, in the same freaking inning. This team, I think they’re going to kill me. One. Chopper out in front of the plate and over. Edward scores from third.

  1. Fundemental baseball seems to be a thing of the past. The fans pay big money to watch good baseball and too often we don't get what we pay for. That ball that got by the right fielder was awful. He had to keep it in front of him but he didn't and there went the game.

  2. I was very excited about this team until recently. This has been some insanely bad baseball for like a month at least. Hope they can get on a good run last 4-6 weeks

  3. Ooops! I think the Yankees should try their hand at soccer. They seem to like kicking the ball around!! With out fundamentals they sure don't look like a playoff team, let alone a World Series contender.

  4. I think the new Yankees pitchers will straighten out. This was just a bad night for pitchers on both sides.
It's the defense that will sink them in the end. Teams that win World Series don't make the kind of mistakes the Yankees do, as often as they do.

  5. The relief pitching sucks. The defense sucks. The Yankees need to play in little league where they'd still have the worst pitching and defense. Then move them to the disabled little league, where they'd still have the worst pitching and defense.

  6. I believe the Yankees recently played the blind senior citizens, hit 100 home runs and still lost by making 120 errors and 130 walks. And the blind shortstop with only one arm still out fielded Anthony Volpe and threw harder.

  7. If ever there was a way you NEVER want to lose a baseball game, this is it. I'm neither a Yankees fan nor a hater, same with the Marlins… but losses like these sting and remain with you for a while. Hopefully the Yankees can recover… it appears that won't happen.

  8. As a Giants fan. Good luck with Doval lol. He balks and violates the pitch clock so much. And always loses condition his fastball. Like I said Good luck

  9. Judge will join Mattingly in being the face of a ringless Yankee era. Once Judge retires the Yankees will have to rebuild from within they way they did in the 90’s

  10. Still not as bad as the Pirates' loss. Of course, the Pirates manage to contribute heavily to other teams' losses, too, as Bednar did here. The Pirates manage to metastasize, like cancer, everywhere.

  11. Hal is okay with all of this because the stadium is still full on Tuesday night games. Yankee stadium needs to start looking like the Marlins stadium when a New York team isn't playing them on the weekend.

  12. Yanks have been showing evidence of being cursed….I mean, what else can go wrong with this club. I get its a big move being involved in a trade….but it seems all the new faces imploded all at once. They need to dismantle and rebuild.
