MAJOR UPDATES for Baltimore Ravens!

Ravens resigned Brent Urban. We’ll talk about where the Dline stands at this point. The Ravens also cut kicker John Hland. So, the job is officially Tyler Loops. We’ll also talk about the Ravens first player in the top 100. A little Micah Parson’s trade request talk and some Ravens Madden ratings. All that and more in today’s episode of the Flock Rundown. Raven’s Flock. The Flock Rundown is the place to be. Motionless brain waves attempt to swim their way. What’s up, Ravens fans? My name is Ryan and welcome back to another episode of the Flock Rundown. We’ve been doing so many training camp update videos that I haven’t done like a general Ravens update video in a while, so it’s kind of fun. This will be cool. We’ll kick it off with Brent Urban resigning with the Baltimore Ravens today. The Ravens also just signed tight end Scotty Washington. Washington spent much of last season on the Ravens practice squad and along with this Brent Urban resigning, this now requires two players to be released or put on reserve. And literally as I’m filming this, they made their first cut and that is kicker John Handland. So, congrats to Tyler Loop. It is now his position and Tyler Loop is going to be the kicker of the Baltimore Ravens this year. Welcome back, Brent Urban. and the Ravens could use some more Dline depth. So, this makes a ton of sense. A guy who’s already familiar with the system, uh, vocal leader on the team. You know, I know he’s not like breaking the huddles down, but he’s been a he’s been around the Ravens organization for a while. He understands what it’s like to play like a Raven. He’s a massive human being, too. So, his size obviously helps. And I’m not sure Brent Urban’s even going to be active every single week. We’ve seen in the past where he’s on the team, but they just make him inactive for game days in order to get another roster spot. But at least the options there to have that Dline depth. You know, we signed John Jenkins earlier in the off season for a very cheap deal. I’m sure this Brent Urban deal is a vet minimum deal and they’re going to back up Brick Washington and then ahead of them is obviously nomin Travis Jones. But I love this Brent Urban signing, man. Not only from uh locker room perspective, you know, a sideline perspective. I know there’s no Michael Pierce, but Bren Urban, man, he’s very vocal and he’s always just positive and in a good mood and I just love his energy and he also can ball out there on the field, man. Like I said, he’s a he’s a big human being. So, that is going to be much needed size. He’s going to play some special teams, block some field goals hopefully with that size. So, welcome back, Bren Urban. Man, I’m excited about this. I think our Dline is pretty set then. You know, we have Nomni, Madabay, Travis Jones at the top. Not worried at all about that. And then pretty solid depth now with Brick Washington who will be in a rotation with those guys. And then John Jenkins, veteran that we signed earlier this off seasonason, Brent Urban, they could both be kind of rotating whether they’re active or not. I’m not sure if John Jenkins or Brent Urban would be active every single week. But like I said earlier, it just doesn’t matter. the flexibility, the option to have those guys, I think is what’s most important. And uh the Ravens have done a great job building out the depth of this roster. Eric Dcasta has done a great job building out the depth of this roster. You know, there’s a couple other little positions that you could possibly think about bringing some depth in. Maybe safety we’ve talked about before, but hearing great things from Susi Kane and Bo Braid. I I don’t know if you need to go sign a veteran safety. I don’t think that that is the move right now at least. Let’s get some preseason games with the young guys and give them a ton of reps and see where we’re at. Same with the deeper outside linebacker guys like Adisa Isaac who’s been stacking some strong practices recently. David Ajabo who I know is probably on the edge of the roster. You know, let’s go see what they got in the preseason. If we want to go sign a Judon or Clowny right before the season starts, they don’t need to be in training camp. You know, they they’ve been around. They know how it works. And they’ve both been on Baltimore. So, we could always go make that move. I think maybe they sign somewhere else and we miss out, but I think that that move is definitely there if they want to go make that move. Same with safety. So, I think they’re playing it the right way. You know, let’s see what the young guys have. Let’s see where we really do need depth and who we might move on from first and then go attack later. But, love this Brent Urban signing. I think this rounds out the Dline depth perfectly. Moving on to some other news. Kyle Hamilton is the first Raven to come in on the NFL top 100 list and he comes in at 51, which is a little surprising to me. For one, I don’t think there’s 50 better NFL players than Kyle Hamilton. But what really bothers me is he was 43 last year and now he’s 51. So, he’s dropping eight spots and I swear he’s getting better. I mean, I last year Kyle Hamilton did a ton to save this Ravens defense and maybe it just didn’t pop out on the stat sheet and that’s why he dropped a little bit. You know, I know the rest of the league’s probably not as tuned in as we are. We definitely are seeing the Ravens and know the Ravens better than probably anyone else in the league. You know, Ravens fans, Ravens media, like they know the team better. We’re tuned in every single day and that gives you a different perspective. So, I’m looking at this and I’m like, Kyle Hamilton, how did he drop? And I really do think it is just people not being that tuned in. They probably didn’t even understand the full situation of Kyle Hamilton kind of switching his responsibility in the defense halfway through because Marcus Williams and Eddie Jackson were struggling so much. The communication was awful. We move Kyle Hamilton back, bring our Darius Washington in, and everything’s fixed really. You know, the communication gets a lot better. We simplified the defense a little bit and that’s just a testament to Kyle Hamilton’s versatility. That’s not a knock, you know, oh, he got a little bit of less stats because he wasn’t around the ball as often. He was playing deep. Okay, we needed him to play deep. That’s that’s what a great football player can do. Like, oh, we need this position. You go fill it. Oh, we need a pass rusher. Kyle Hamilton can go rush the quarterback probably. You know what I mean? Like, oh, you want to be around the ball, stay inside the box. Kyle Hamilton’s a beast there. He can blow up screens. He can come on blitzes. He can play deep. Like he’s so versatile. He can pretty much play any position on the entire defense. I don’t think that should be a knock. You know, we we got to stop just looking at stats and kind of being tuned in from afar. But I guess it’s hard to know everything for every team. You know, I I think that’s what this comes down to. A lot of the times when people are voting, they just don’t they’re not that tuned in around the rest of the league to know exactly what’s going on. And I and I feel that with other teams, right? Like I’m a diehard football fan in general, not just the Baltimore Ravens, but I’m following the Ravens every single day. Like every reporter, tweet, every post, every event at training camp, everything that’s going on, I’m locked in. I’m not that way with the rest of the league. You know, I I do follow from a distance. So, I probably have some opinions and perspectives of certain guys that is just not as accurate. that maybe a person following that team every single day doesn’t share. So, I I think this is probably what this Kyle Hamilton situation is because he shouldn’t be 51, but it is what it is. Congrats to Kyle Hamilton. Top 100 player, welld deserved. And uh the Ravens should be having a couple more of those guys pop up here soon in the top 50. In some other news, Micah Parsons demands a trade from the Dallas Cowboys. Now, I’ve seen a ton of Ravens fans instantly go into, “We got to go get Micah. We got to go get Micah.” And while I would completely celebrate and welcome Micah Parsons to the Baltimore Ravens, I just don’t even think he gets traded. And that’s just my opinion. If he gets traded, good for him. Good for the team that gets him. If that’s Baltimore, amazing. I’ll be on here celebrating. But I don’t think it’s a very realistic scenario. Not that the Ravens wouldn’t be interested or wouldn’t even be willing to give up some capital. I do think they’d have to really overpay and they probably their organization just doesn’t operate like that. They’re just not going to give out a bunch of top picks. And I really think the Ravens are so confident in their drafting ability, their scouting ability that they feel like they can just keep refreshing the pipeline. you know, whether that be pass rusher or another position, they can keep drafting guys and not paying them a ton of money. Mike Green’s probably going to be the star future of this pass rush unit, and he’s on a cheaper deal. He’s a second round pick, so you don’t have to give up much when you go draft a guy like that. So, I think that’ll probably be how the Ravens continue to operate. But, like I said, I would fully welcome a Micah Parson’s trade. I just don’t even think he gets traded. You know, Terry McLaren demanded a trade, too. And Lamar Jackson years ago when he was in his contract dispute demanded a trade. And I just think this is a tactic, a negotiation tactic, you know, a way to put your foot down when you aren’t coming to terms with contract numbers. You’re just like, “All right, get me out of here then.” But most of the time, that team doesn’t actually want to trade that person. And it actually becomes very difficult to trade that player because the team that has him, the Dallas Cowboys, are going to want a fortune. You know, you got to basically mortgage two, three first round picks and like a young stud player. Like you got to give up a ton to go get a Michael Parsons. A lot of teams are going to be hesitant to do that. The Dallas Cowboys don’t want to trade him anyway. And I genuinely think he probably doesn’t even really want to go anywhere. This is just another negotiation tactic like we’ve seen many times from many players, but we’ll see how it plays out. Definitely be interesting. I I just don’t think he’ll get traded. That would be an absolute Madden move for the Ravens to go get Michael Parsons. And speaking of Madden, all the ratings came out. And I know maybe not everybody plays Madden, but I’m a big Madden fan. And I also like to look at the ratings because like the NFL top 100, it’s kind of a, you know, assessment of of where that player is around the league. How how does how do other people view that player on the Ravens by their rating? You can get a little bit of that information. And uh there’s some guys that are being heavily slept on on the Baltimore Ravens and Kyle Hamilton is one of them. They have Kyle Hamilton ranked as the seventh safety in Madden. And they got Jesse Bates, Derwin James, Xavier McKenna, Buddha Baker, Ma Fitzpatrick, Antoine Winfield, all ahead of Kyle Hamilton. Our top rated guys on the team obviously Lamar Jackson 99 overall. Welld deserved. Derrick Henry 98, Rocoan Smith 94, Mattabke 93, Marlon Humphrey 92, Jaier Alexander 91. So that’s a hell of a duo there. Mark Andrews 91. The gap between Mark Andrews and Isaiah Likely is kind of crazy, too. Isaiah likely comes in as an 80 overall and Mark’s a 91. So I mean I don’t think Mark is 11 overall better than Isaiah Likely and 80 overall is like an very average tight end. So they are just completely disrespecting Isaiah likely. I don’t know if it’s his usage or what. I mean I I have no idea why Mark would be a 91 and likely an 80. I’m not arguing that they would put Mark ahead of Likely a little bit, but if Mark’s a 91, I want Likely to be an 87, 88, you know, or bring Mark down to an 85 and make likely an 84. I don’t know, something like that. But like 11 overall difference doesn’t make sense to me. The Kyle Hamilton disrespect is just absolutely insane. I mean, him being the seventh ranked safety in the league as at a 90 overall. They got Mark Andrews rated higher than than Kyle Hamilton. And I know it’s two different positions, but I I definitely think they’re sleeping heavy. They also got Nate Wiggins at a 79. I’m guessing that’s just cuz he’s young. They usually kind of slow roll the young guys. The rookies Malachi Stark 75, Mike Green 76. Travis Jones 78 is absolutely disrespectful. He could jump to a 90 this year. I think he’s going to be that dominant. And then some of our offensive linemen just not rated very high at all. Roger Rosenard 74. Daniel Failele 73. I think Roger Rosen Garden is much better than FA Alle. So I I think 74 for Rosen Garden is just way too low. It’s just Madden ratings obviously not a huge deal, but like I said earlier when I was talking about the top 100, it does give you a little insight into how some other people that aren’t super tuned into the Ravens view some of the Ravens players. And I think they’re mistaken. I think they’re uninformed as to how good some of these guys are. Like Travis Jones, I mean, you can’t Travis Jones being a 78 is crazy. Like Travis Jones is going to be one of the top defensive linemen in the entire NFL. Mark my words. It always shocks me how many vague opinions are out there. you know, people that just really aren’t that tapped in or out there on TV shows or I guess a lot of those main shows are on YouTube now, but a lot of the shows you see on ESPN or whatever, like they just really don’t know that much about what’s going on daytoday with with a team, you know, and and when you cover a team specifically, like we’re following the Ravens super closely, you can see it. It’s so obvious like you hear someone talk on TV and I know some other content creators like to fire back at those shows and stuff. I really just don’t put any weight into them. I I I think like local media and people that are super tapped in if if the content can get, you know, high enough quality and and the audience gets big enough, I think that’s the place to go to. Like people are going to gravitate to the people that are tapped in the most because why would you be watching, you know, first things first or first take and just like super glued in when 95% of the takes are just kind of like uneducated. They’re not informed about what’s really going on dayto-day. I It’s like painful for me to watch those shows sometimes. I I turn it on. and I turn a YouTube clip on or I’ll be watching another Ravens content creator and they’re firing back at what someone said on TV about Lamar Jackson or something. I’m like, why are we putting weight into this? Like, those shows don’t know really what they’re talking about. They’re talking about every team very vaguely. I’m done ranting about it, but just seeing those Madden ratings, seeing the top 100 rankings, it’s just a healthy reminder that a lot of people really aren’t super informed or knowledgeable about what’s going on. But at least we are, man. We definitely are. We’re following dayto-day. We’re super tapped in and I’m grateful that you guys are here with me and and we can be very well informed about what’s going on with the Ravens. That’s it for this video. I just wanted to come on here, go over some updates, have a little fun, and just conversate with you guys away from some training camp stuff. We had eight straight training camp recap videos. If you haven’t been super tuned in to what’s going on in training camp, I’ve covered every single practice in detail. Also had Cordell Woodland on last week and went live. It’s only 30 minutes, but great great insight into what’s going on on training camp. And uh we’ll be back to making training camp videos, too. But I just wanted to come on here, make an update video, and just, you know, talk about a little little more than just training camp. So, appreciate you guys as always for tuning in to another episode of the Flock Rundown. Have a beautiful rest of your day and I’ll let the greatest linebacker in the history of the game take us out. 1. Madden has been a suck game since about 2012. Whoever chooses the stats obviously doesnโ€™t really watch football. Madden staff should know everything there is to possibly know about every team. They butcher stats every year itโ€™s a main reason I stopped playing it.

  2. Depth is good, glad Urban is back wearing the legendary 58 shirt lol

We aint getting Micah, people should know this by now. Or Terry, both trade requests feel like negotiating tools to get the bag , yeah? Weโ€™d have no space to resign so no point in fucking up our roster for 1 year rentals essentially.
