[Anne Rogers] Michael Massey’s back flared up on him again, Quatraro said. They won’t know his next steps or timeline until Massey gets back to KC and is evaluated.
Massey has been on the IL since June 10. Since then he’s dealt with an ankle sprain, wrist injury, illness and now the back.

Poor massey man gotta be going through a lot with all these injuries and him struggling very hard this year at the plate
Dude was cursed with the back of a middle aged man. Poor dude.
Very sad. He had a good season last year when he was able to play without injuries.
Unfortunately, it’s probably time to quit expecting Massey to be a serious contributor going forward. He’s already dealt with an unholy amount of back injuries and he’s 27
At this point do we even re-sign him for ’26? Might be time to move on.
Non-tender him this off season and move on
Shut him down and hope he can get healthy/productive next year.
So do we just name the things on him that don’t hurt to save time?
I don’t want him to stay injured, but I just don’t think having Massey back does much for the team anyway.
Good thing we got India. He’s not playing the best but a lot better bat option than anyone else right now
