So, could the Cleveland Guardians be trading away Steven Quan to the San Diego Padres’s this 2025 MLB trade deadline? Well, here on the screen is a tweet on X from MLB deadline news, which says, “The San Diego Padres’s and Cincinnati Reds are also in on Guardians outfielder Steven Quan per John Haymon. So, just for this video, I want to focus on the Padres’s going after uh Steven Quan because the Reds made a trade earlier today for Cabrien Hayes. So, I don’t think they’re going to be in the running for Steven Quan, per se. So, I think the Padres’s are more likely to acquire him. And it’s also pretty intriguing to me if Quan were to get Delta in the first place because he has, you know, control left on his deal as well as him going to the Padres’s who for a landing spot actually do make a lot of sense because he isn’t a controllable asset and not making that much money relatively speaking. So, Stephven Quan this year for the Guardians is having a pretty good season. He’s putting up a 3.1 war, 114 hits, nine home runs, a 286 average, 52 runs scored, 38 RBI’s, 11 stolen bases, and on base of 351, a 410 slug, an OPS of 761, and an OPS plus of 110. So for Steven Quan, who’s going to be 28 years old in about a week or so, or maybe a month or so, whatever the case may be, he’s a left-handed hitting outfielder. He checks a lot of boxes. Like he can get on base at a high clip, he can play some pretty good defense. I think if you were to go to this Padre’s team, what’s most intriguing to them is the fact that he is under team control uh until 2028. So, if I’m the Guardians, I just wouldn’t trade Steven Quan. Uh but if the asking price for him is relatively high and the and the Padres’s are willing to meet it, why not make it happen? Especially if you’re the Padres’s who are looking to make a playoff push this year, there’s been some speculation about them maybe flipping Dylan CE. So, could there be a world where maybe they acquire Steven Quan and they get rid of Dylan Case and just kind of do a prospect exchange that way? It’s it’s possible and just sort of how the Padres’s operate. Steven Quan checks a lot of boxes for them and I love the fit of Steven Quan going to San Diego. So, pretty intriguing player.
