Kaleb Johnson TEARING UP At Pittsburgh Steelers Training Camp Practice | 2025 Fantasy Football

It’s training camp season. Today we’re looking at the Pittsburgh Steelers and getting a good look at rookie running back Caleb Johnson again. We’re going to watch some blow dudes up, work through the holes, work through some drills, everything else. But before we dig in, you need to click that subscribe button right now. We’re looking at practice every day, your favorite players, your rookies, and you’re drafting these guys in fantasy football here soon. You need to know about them. And we got a lot of fantasy football content here. Click that button, know what your players are doing behind the scenes at practice. We’re looking at Caleb Johnson here today. They had Steelers nighttime practice in front of a crowd. We got some clips from that. We’ll loop this and keep talking ball as well. Some of these are from other practices, too. But here we go. We got Caleb Johnson here looking stout. Look, is that Johnson? It was noted as Johnson. Looks like Johnson. He’s got the jersey ruffled up. There he is for sure. He’s going to come up the hole in this one. This one’s for a shorter gain. Finds the hole. Gets low. slew of Steelers there. Here’s Here’s the moment, though. Here’s where the dog got out. The dog got out of the cage here. Now, some of you who wear the pants too tight might not like, but we got more clips. The dog got out. I’ll just say that as we look into more of these clips from last night. We got something else though. Working with Jaylen Warren behind the scenes, working on pass protection. It’s been noted by a few people at practice that that has not been going so well, but it’s also been noted he’s been working very hard. There he is. There he is. Getting into it. Get into it. Look. Look at the reaction. Everybody happy. Happy happy what Caleb Johnson did. Getting after it. Coming off the field here. I I was getting everything. Everything. Shout out to Robbie on Twitter. Steelers fan. If it’s rotty, I’m sorry, but that’s what I remember in my head. There we are getting after it. Boom. Boom. I know those people were taking your clips off IG. I got them, too. But I’ll shout you out because that’s what you need. Here we go. Here’s again on the pass pro. And he’s been working hard on the pass protection. They’ve been working hard on that. That’s one thing. That’s one thing that was noted by the beat riders, especially mini camp and OTAAS, that he was getting a lot of reps, a lot of extra reps and pass protection. And development is a thing. Look at the long arms though. Look at the long arms. This one was from last week. But still, he’s been popping off runs. He’s been popping off runs. Things have been a little bit quieter on the clips. There we go. in the open field. He’s explosive. He’s a big physical running back prospect right through the hole. Looking solid. Looking solid. Watch him here. I think he gets a good run on this one with Rogers. Patient. You saw the little patience there. gets to the outside, takes that same play, different angle. Gets to the outside. Very good. Old mustache there. Those arms are long. He’s a tall back. He’s thick, too. He want be able to handle full workload. Tomlin mentioned that when they drafted him, and that’s one thing. And also, this is a very deep running back class. He just happened to be the the one of the top running backs that fell and it fell to the Steelers. That happens to Steelers a lot in drafts a lot. There’ll be a position group that’s rather deep and one of those top prospects will fall to them. George Pickkins fell to them. Like players just fall to them and they get them at discounts. If he was in last year’s draft, he would be the first running back selected easily. Easily. Like the perspective of this running back class is hard for some people who have did not study that hardcore. This year’s running back class is so deep and talented. That’s really the size of like three running back classes. Look at that. You had two running backs drafted in the first round. What? Four or five running backs in the second round. You only had one running back in the second round last year. You only had like two running backs in the third round last year. It was a bad running back class. But this one’s so deep. Like running backs are going to come out of this class hitting on all cylinders and off and on throughout the next couple years from this year’s class. late round picks, mid round picks, day two picks, first round picks. Like, there’s going to be a lot of talent just rising to the top in this league at the running back position. That’s one thing you’re going to see. Caleb Johnson is built to be the guy. Jaylen Warren’s there. He’s solid. He’s solid. Good in pass protection. Going to be the RB1 on the team to start things off. More than likely. More than likely. We still got some camp to play out. We got joint practices. We got preeason. We’re starting to get in the thick of things. But we know what’s going to go on with this is eventually Caleb Johnson’s going to get worked in. We call it the rookie ramp up and we give all rookies a chance to ramp up. That way you don’t just throw them out with the bath water like the first few weeks every season because that’s what what you would do with 90% of the rookies. 95 99% of the rookies. You got to give him time to ramp up, time for the coaching staff to trust them, time to season, learn the system. You’re looking at Caleb Johnson here once that period is over with is a running back that is going to be a cornerstone of the Steelers for a long time. For a long time. Him and Jaylen Warren, that’s a good tandem. Actually, you use tandemss now in football anyways, but he’s going to be a guy that’s going to handle a lot of touches, some work in the passing game, grinding out tough yards, getting a lot of opportunities, red zone looks. It could be a little bit slower this year due to that rookie ramp up. It could be, I don’t know, week 10, 11, 12, 6, 5, 4. You never know. You never know. Justin Jefferson even had a little bit of a ramp up. I think it was like week three before he started hitting. Like there’s always like this little ramp up period. There’s times where you don’t get that, but Lad McConi had one last year and then he went off. Like there’s just little ramp up periods for all the rookies. Just about just about. Not all of them, but those are the exception. That’s just something you need to know. So, if you’re looking at him for fantasy football, we’ve talked about this a million times in the fantasy football content and also with his videos and then on top of that the other videos with the other players and his range. He’s at the top of the dead zone. There’s no dead zone this year because the running back position so deep. So, you got to strategize differently around that compared to other years. At the top of the dead zone, you got to pick between the three rookie running backs. Caleb here, Trevian Henderson, RJ Harvey. RJ Harvey is starting to jump the draft board in ADP. You gota look at the veteran running backs. James Connor, former Steeler, David Montgomery, DeAndre Swift. I think there’s another one in there. And then you got to look at some of the wide receivers. Jared Judy’s in there and a couple others like four or five other wide receivers. and they’re veteran wide receivers who will be getting targets that will give you wide receiver two-ish production off and on some wide receiver one weeks mixed in there and you’re looking at that and you got to pick your poison what fork you want to hit. There’s like a three work there’s three forks in the road there that you got to take. Do you take your rookies knowing that there’s a rookie ramp up? Do you take those veteran running backs knowing that father time could hit in any moment for them? Do you look at those wide receivers as in you’re just rounding out your wide receiver depth chart and you’re taking the lottery tickets at running back a little bit later? Is that what you’re doing? You got to strategize for that moment in the draft. Caleb Johnson has the potential to be very good in the league. That could be later this season, early next season. That could be earlier than expected. He has that talent to do so. Same with R.J. Harvey. Same with Trevian Henderson. RJ Harvey is very electric. Trevon Henderson’s going to get work in the passing game. That is the strategy there and there’s just three forks in the road that you can take and you just pick one and then you strategize the back end of your draft. Like if you’re going with one of those rookies and then with the lottery ticket area of the draft like rounds 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, there’s a few veteran running backs like an Eckler or somebody like that, Rashad White that’s going in that range. Maybe you look at one of those veterans, not just those two, but some of the others as more stability just in case there’s a ramp up period or the ramp up period’s longer than expected. If you go with the veteran running backs, then you may want to take more of the lottery ticket running backs in the double digit rounds. If you go with the wide receivers, you should be pretty stacked at wide receiver before you get to the double digit rounds where you should be pounding out running back then because you foregoed or took a spot out of the middle part of the draft there. the high-end dead zone running backs. Maybe one fell to you like a Pacheco or something, you were able to get like a Judy Pacheco or something like that. That’s just a name that’s in my head, but that’s something you need to pay attention to. Caleb Johnson though, tons of upside. Good running back prospect. Good at Iowa. He’s been good all off seasonason long and there’s still some development to to do, but same with all prospects. Let me know what you think in the comments below. I want to hear about that. Make sure to hit that subscribe button on the way out. Want to thank you for watching. Catch you on the next video.
