Thumping in Toronto | Bats Back Wacha’s Gem in Series Opener
A very tough right hander. Kevin’s got that, er, a back under four at 3, 82 and his 21 starts back to back solid starts after the all star break. He’s been on quite a roll allowing just one run in seven innings to the Yankees and Then six scoreless innings at come park in Detroit two from, and a fastball right there for strike three called India never took the bat off his shoulder. So one down and now Bobby Witt junior line drive to left field and a sliding catch made by Joey Lodo, close your eyes and turn your head and the ball went in his glove. What a play. He comes with a 12 pitch again and it’s a fastball at the knees called strike three in a 123. Top of the first for kevin Gossman. We go to the bottom of the first in Toronto. Now, Michael walk is on the mound, his 22nd start of the season. He enters with a 353 a in 117 in the third innings. Here’s the 2 to 2 fastball swung out and missed strike three and they are two down, here’s a guy who had no worries about being traded on deadline day. Vladimir guerrero Junior and this one is hit to left field and it is knocked a screaming line of a home run for Vladimir guerrero Junior and it is one to up Blue Jays. Well, there are times when home runs are no doubters and this one fits that category gets a sinker from Walka and there was no question about this one middle in down in the zone and he just dropped the barrel on it. Vladimir Guerrero Junior in the Blue Jays lead 10 in the first. Michael Garcia leads off the top of the second inning. Here’s the pitch and Garcia breaks his bat rolls it softly up the middle. Bichette scoops it up behind second, stumbles no throw to first and Garcia safe infield hit for Michael garcia. That’s his 120th hit of the season and is now just one behind Vladimir guerrero Junior who now has 100 and 21 swing and a miss on a fastball down and Garwin against Perez for out number one. And that brings up mike Yastrzemski. This is Mike Yastrzemski seventh major league season. All of them have been with the Giants until today. The Royals acquired ya in a trade very close to the deadline just yesterday. That’s a strike and Michael is gonna be safe and so that is Michael Garcia’s 20th stolen base of the season. He puts himself in scoring position with one out for Mike Yastrzemski. The pitch, yes, Strenski hits it high in the air deep to right field. Lukes is back toward the track at the fence. Looks up. It’s gone into the Royals bullpen. Welcome to the Royals. Mike Remy, his first at bat in a Royals uniform puts his new team in front less than 24 hours ago. Mike Remy was in New York with the Giants on an off day playing golf. Found out that he was getting traded as he was finishing up his round. Now here he is in a different country hitting a two run homer right after Mike his strengths. He gave him the lead. Michael Wacha retires the Blue Jays in order, no runs, no hits , no errors. Nobody left on base. We go to the third in Toronto Royals. Two Blue Jays. One Isbell steps up to the plate left handed hitter against Gosman. The 11 hard hit ground ball fair down the line bounces off the sidewalk back in the shallow right field and you’ve got a leadoff single here in the third inning to roll it back over and get it to Jonathan India. Here’s the 22 hard hit ball into the alley right center field, Barsha and Lukes going after Barsha reaches out and dives he can’t get there is Bell is already around second. He gets the stop sign at third and India is in with a double. There’s nobody out runners at 2nd and 3rd for Bobby Witt Junior in the third inning. Right man. Right spot. Bobby pounds it into the corner and straightens for a three run home run into the second deck, a three run shot by Bobby Witt Junior and it puts the Royals up 5 to 1 in the third inning. Last of the third inning in downtown Toronto after giving up that homer and double in the first inning, Michael walker has retired seven straight and the Royals have a 5 to 1 lead as we go to the fourth two out spaces empty. 51 Royals. Adam Frazier up Gausman’s 02 pitch check swing. Did he go? He did Sosman fifth of the start in a scoreless top of the 4th 51 Royals. Let’s go to the bottom of the fourth inning. Still on the mound. He’s retired the last seven hitters he’s faced after giving up a homer to Guerrero back in the first and Then a double to, he’s got one of the lowest hard hit rates in baseball that’s lifted high in the air to left center field. Frazier moving in though he makes the call for it and the catch for out number 18 in a row retired by Waka three straight on fly balls to Frazier in left. Here’s Bechet who had a double his first time up one out bases empty and the hit on a line over Bobby Witt Junior at short, sinking down in left field of base of the first hit since bat last got a knock. That was back in the first inning. Madison Barger with one on one out skies it into left field again. Frazier moving in on it. He reaches up and makes the one handed grab overhead for the second out of the inning and it brings up time. France, here’s the 10 on the ground left side with Junior backhands it short hop it over to first and it’s scooped out in time for the final out of the inning. 6 to 3. And Bobby Wiggs Junior, a tough throw from the hole ends the inning in the fourth. Mike Waka faces Dalton Varsha. The Royals have a 5 to 1 lead over the Blue Jays. The pitch foul tipped in his mid that’s strike three great change up from w his second strikeout of the night and there’s one away first pitch to Ernie Clement. He rolls it softly to shortstop right at Bobby Woo Junior. He was positioned well, he scoops and throws on to first two outs. So a quick two up and two down for Michael W he faces the number nine hitter Tyler Heineman. Now the 2 to 2 changeup flailed at and missed strike three, third strikeout overall, five innings of one run ball for Michael Walka. We go to the sixth and the Royals, they’ve got a really good outing so far from Michael walker who returns to the mound here in the home half of the sixth against the top of the lineup. Soft ball over the left side of the mound scoops it up, throws from next to the bag at second and it’s in time to first base for the first out. It brings up Joey Loper. Here’s the two swing and a miss that’s number four for walker and with a four run lead, it turns it over to Vladimir guerrero junior is one for two high in the air, left, center field and deep is be going back on the track and he makes the catch in front of the high wall out there for the final out of the inning. So how about that Michael walker with another three up, three down inning and the Royals lead it 5 to 1. Michael Walker has retired 11 straight and kept the Royals in front for the first time since May. Michael Walker goes seven innings in a start and the Royals have a 5 to 1 lead over the Blue Jays. The Royals a 5 to 1 top eight. Tommy Nance is into the game, Bobby Witt Jr leading off in foul territory from third two outs top of the eighth and Nance’s 2 to 2 pitch bounced in a diving stop by Guerrero dives to the bag in a terrific play by to go get it and maybe an even better play to dive to the back just ahead of garcia who’s got very good speed. We go to the bottom of the eighth inning in Toronto, Michael Walka is back on the mound with the Royals in front 5 to 1 against the Blue Jays. Waka has thrown just 76 pitches tonight through seven innings of one run. Three hit. Baseball counts full on the lefty vs three balls, two strikes changeup in there called strike three tumbled over the outer half bars is down looking five Ks for Waka. He’s cruising. He’s retired 12 in a row runner on first one gone bottom eight Royals up 5 to 1. Here’s the pitch change up, poked in the air straight away right field. Mike Yastrzemski is right there. He makes the catch and now there are two outs and now walk is at 99 pitches. So he’s about to throw his season high 100 this is the most pitches he’s had to throw in an inning. So his most taxing it could be his final but 12 fed in the air , left center field, Frazier’s into the gap from left makes the catch and the inning is over eight dominant innings from Michael Wacha. He allows just one run on only four hits and he breezed through the Blue Jays offense for the latter seven innings. So we go to the ninth, the Royals five and the Blue Jays won and the fourth pitcher of the night for the blue Jays, a guy who has been rock solid joe since he came back for the minors. Left hander Mason flu Hardy Salvador Perez leans off the pitch. Perez rips it high in the air down the left field line, hooking toward the corner and gone just over the fence in the left field corner. A solo shot for Shelby and it’s now 6 to 1 in the top of the ninth inning. A one out single that brings up Adam Frazier who’s zero for three tonight. A 32 to Frazier. Fastball hit in the air deep down the right field line toward the corner. Lukes looks up. It’s out of here. A two run homer for adam Frazier. The Royals add on in the top of the ninth inning. It’s now 8 to 1 here in Canada and the new pitcher is Braden Fisher Pasin walks and that loads the bases for Michael garcia. Here’s the pitch. Garcia laces it in the left center field that’s down for a base hit is Bell scores with stops at third pass. Quentin’s to second. Mike Garcia has an RB I single. It’s 9 to 1 in the top of the ninth, new pitcher on the mound. Right hander Thomas Hatch at long last makes his Royals debut to overdo. Moves to third archer waiting in the lefty box trying to snap it zero for three day as hatch sets and delivers a 3 to 2 swing and a deep line drive right field, hooking to the fence, red ball’s gone. They make it 9 to 3 on Barger blast bases clear. Now for Ty France hatch delivers , swung on and missed strike three and the ball game is over. The Royals make a strong statement. They beat down the Blue Jays 9 to 3.
The Royals blasted four home runs to back Michael Wacha’s 8.0 inning start and send the Royals to a third straight win!

You guys look like the A team vanπ
Ditch that uniform!
You're from Canada π

Toronto has been about as good as any team in the league. Good start to this series. Great start from Wacha. I hope we can compete for a wild card spot and stay in range. Hopefully the bats can keep it up.
Jonathan India is starting to heat up with runners in scoring position
Wacha, wacha, wacha…idk why but it reminds me of Pac-Man
9:45 he sounded so defeated π
Frazier, Grichuk & now Yas have completely changed this lineup, you combine that with our quality pitching and we are now a proper team for the first time this season! The WC is going to be tough to get but we have shot now.
Imagine losing to the Royals
So… you're saying there's a chance…
Yas brings that Alex Gordon vibe back to the Royals… Love it…!!! Congrats on first Royal HR…
My royals have finally spent a little money π° and got some veterans around our young guys βΌοΈ
Support for Waka. It has the same meaning as "a golden club for a demon."

Witt is having an absolute down season!! Don't let that HR yesterday count for anything. He is 1 for 9 last two games with two walks.
