🚨SHOCKING Miami Dolphins Trade Rumors: Trade For Joshua Williams?
[Music] Could a major trade be on the horizon for Chris Greer and the Miami Dolphins? Well, ESPN put out five win-win trades that they want to see and project maybe could come to fruition before the regular season gets underway and before training camp concludes. in it is a deal between Miami and Kansas City where the Dolphins land a corner that would provide them with a potential starting option on the outside or at bare minimum another depth piece. We’ll break that all down on today’s show. I am Nick Rolloff. But we are doing a sub battle on the daily just one day who can get the most subs and we’re doing it against the Chiefs report here at Chat Sports. It’s a Dolphins Chiefs trade idea. Thought it would be a fun idea to challenge the Chiefs report. So, hit that sub button for daily Dolphins coverage, news, rumors, and everything in between. Plus, let’s beat the Chiefs. All right, so here is the trade idea. It’s very simple. Miami Lands cornerback Joshua Williams from Kansas City. And all the Dolphins ended up giving up in this trade idea. Is a 20276 round pick. So, very low value from a pick perspective if you’re the Dolphins, but you get a corner who could actually end up starting for your team. Williams is a very bigbodied guy who can provide you with a boundary presence that I don’t think you have on the roster currently. So, this is certainly a deal that I am interested in. But before we talk about Williams more as a player and give my thoughts in full, I wanted to share what ESPN said on this trade idea. Williams is a depth corner for the Chiefs who already have Trent McDuffy, Jaylen Watson, Christian Fulton, Newell Williams, and then Joshua Williams who is scheduled to make $3.2 2 million this year was even left off ESPN’s 53man roster projection at the start of training camp. William does have some encouraging numbers over his first three seasons across 769 coverage snaps. He has allowed.9 yards per snap better than average and 6 over the past two years albeit in a small sample size. And one I’m all in on adding another cornerback because this Dolphins depth chart and roster just simply needs one. But a player that has the upside that Joshua Williams has makes a lot of sense for Miami, especially if it would only cost you a late day three pick for a guy that is just making about $3 million. Like Miami’s cornerback room right now is not in a good spot, especially with Kater Kohu down for the year with a torn ACL. You have had injuries already to BJ Adams and Ry Burns. And not that those two are expected to really impact the Dolphins. I just don’t think anyone could come up here with a straight face and say, “Hey, I have confidence in this cornerback room being a top 20 unit.” No, it’s going to be bottom 10 in the NFL with what they currently have. I like Mike Hilton as a replacement for Kohou, but trusting Storm Duck, Cam Smith, Jack Jones as your boundary cornerback trio, I don’t think is going to go very well for you. And I don’t care how good the pass rush ends up being, which I do think it’s going to be really good. It can’t masquerade the holes that are in the secondary to the fullest degree. So, let’s talk about Joshua Williams a little bit more. He was a fourthround pick in 2022. That’s why he is entering the final year of his contract, his rookie deal, which was four years initially. He was out of Fagetville State. He’s got great size, 63, 195. Has good speed to him for a guy of his size. ran a four five3 40ard dash when he was at the NFL combine and he did appear in both Chief Super Bowl victories against the 49ers and Eagles when they went back to back. I do not think that this is a player that is someone who was a main contributor in terms of them starting but I don’t think he’s also just a depth piece for his entire career. know he has gotten snaps at least 300 400 snaps in two of the last three seasons. So he does have a lot of playing time in the regular season and he did make a couple plays in those two Super Bowls, 32 tackles in his respective appearances. And the thing that I’m taking away the most from Joshua Williams is his size to speed ratio. I know not everything is just a straight line in the NFL, but being 6’3 and basically 200 lb and running a 453 40 yard dash is just really impressive. It’s why that I have been high on Andrew Armstrong, the UDFA wide receiver Miami signed out of Arkansas because he’s 64 running a 45240, which is really impressive. Miami doesn’t have a lot of size on the boundary. Mike Hilton’s a slot guy. Jack Jones is about 6’6 foot one. Williams would provide you with just a massive size corner on the perimeter that can potentially take away some of these other big body X-wide receivers you play on a week in weekout basis. It would also help you a ton in the your red zone packages. Having a bigger corner that can get his hands on high pointed passes, back shoulders. The height speed combination that Williams possesses certainly makes him an intriguing flyer Miami could take it on in this potential trade. And if you look at Joshua Williams career coverage stats via Pro Football Focus, they are pretty solid. He has played 1,171 snaps, given up nine touchdowns, which isn’t great. A career QB rating of 105.8. But the thing that impresses me the most is his completion percentage when targeted. He doesn’t get targeted that much, but when he does, he usually does force incompletions. 58% is elite stuff. If you are a corner and allow a completion percentage in your career, 60% or under, that is really, really highlevel stuff. So, Williams in small sample sizes, as Seth Walder pointed out, has shown a lot of good flashes. And if we’re going to be honest, you look at that Dolphins cornerback room, which we just showed on screen a second ago, with where it stands, Kater Coo’s injury and all these other veterans being banged up like Arty Burns, I think he would probably be a starter. Like, let’s be real here. I would probably rather have Joshua Williams on the outside than Jack Jones. I would probably rather have him on the outside over Storm Duck. Now, if you had Williams and one of those two as your two boundary guys, Hilton in the slot with safeties like Melanu or Mah Fitzpatrick, like now we’re talking about a versatile secondary. And the reason why I say Joshua Williams is very much likely to be a starter if the Dolphins did trade for him is because the way that he has been trending. We showed his career coverage stats, but if you actually just look over the past two years, Miami would be getting a very solid guy. A completion percentage of 41.7 and 60% over the past two seasons. Elite 78 and 87 QB rating respectively is very, very solid. I’m not going to act like he’s a starting corner for every game that the Chiefs played, but when he’s on the field, it’s not like he is getting torched. No, he is certainly holding his own, which projects himself to me as someone who could be a servable starter for Miami on the outside. The worst year that Williams had was as a rookie. Makes sense. Second year and third year, much better numbers. As you see, I think it’s more indicative of who he is rather than when we showed his career stats of how high his QB rating was when target at 105 completion is a little bit higher. He’s been lower than his career averages every single year since his first season. Now, one negative on Joshua Williams because it is not all roses with him is that he was penalized six times last season. So, he does have the tendency to get a little bit grabby at times and sometimes he doesn’t play the ball the best way and ends up committing defensive pass interference. That’s always frustrating. It’s not great. But I think when you look at the grand scope of potentially acquiring Joshua Williams, the positives and the upside of getting him heavily outweigh the negatives that he has in terms of one year left on his deal, $3 million, and the penalties that he does get called on at a relatively high rate. So, I am certainly intrigued by adding Joshua Williams. There’s no doubt about that. But I’ll ask you, you make the call for me. Would you trade for Joshua Williams? Type T for trade, type P for pass, pin comment on today’s show. I think if you’re watching today’s video, it’s abundantly clear that I would certainly be type my T’s for trade. And it just makes so much sense for Miami to make a move like this, right? The Dolphins desperately need to add another corner. They did not sign Noah Fant. And with that being off the table, cornerback is without a question the one move Chris Greer and Miami need to make. Whether it is signing a free agent, we’ll look at some free agents Miami could sign or making a trade like Joshua Williams or maybe another corner. We’ll talk about one more here just in a second. But another point with Joshua Williams, and I want to make this video for not only the trade proposed by ESPN, but the possibility that you don’t even need to trade for him. You heard it from ESPN. There’s a chance that Williams ultimately gets traded. And I was talking with Chiefs Report host here Tyler Jones about Joshua and I asked them. I was just like, “Is he expendable?” He says there’s a chance he gets cut. Kansas City could ask him to take a slightly lower pay this year and move him down from 3.2 million to like one and change or just about two. And if he says no, there’s a world where Williams gets released. As it was mentioned earlier, they already have a couple good corners in Watson, McDuffy. They drafted a fifth rounder out of Cal and Null. You have Christian Falton who they signed in for A&C. Like that’s four solid corners right there. So if they feel like Williams is expendable, maybe they end up releasing him or let it be known that he could be had via trade, which is where Miami comes into play in this potential deal. But hey, just throwing out there, there is a chance he ultimately gets released in late August. We’re going to finish out the show here in a second. But if you want to take advantage of this special deal, go to chatsports.com/mia cututoff sale. Cut off hoodie. Usually 55 on sale right now for $33. $22 off. You just don’t see that type of deals often. Sizes are still in stock. Grab yours today, right now. Links in the description and comments of today’s video. There is one more potential trade target and that is Cleveland Browns quarterback Greg Nuome who is also going into the final year of his deal. Now the difference between Newsome and Joshua Williams is that Newsome is in the final year of his rookie deal as a first round pick. So his player option that was picked up by the Browns is about 13.3 mil. So it’s a lot more expensive financially to acquire Greg Newsome. He has been on the trade block allegedly this entire off season. And in that same article where ESPN projected this trade for Miami, they also projected Greg Newsome being traded to the Raiders. So maybe there is a chance that Newsome could still be dealt. Now I am a little bit skeptical of that. I don’t think Greg Newsome gets traded by the Cleveland Browns. And this is an indictment on what happened to them this past week. one of their top corners, Martin Emerson, probably their CB2 or CB3, ultimately suffered a lower body injury that is keeping him out for this entire 2025 season. So, with the Browns losing a projected starting corner or a top corner at bare minimum, I doubt that they would be really pining to move off of one of their top two guys now in Greg Newsome plus a former first round pick. They might try to see if he can bounce back after a down 2024 campaign and then they could extend him on a long-term deal. The point is, I just please, please, please, we’ll ask Chris Greer to add another corner. And I hate that we have to just continue to have the same talking point, but with the news popping out and these trade ideas and rumors happening around the Dolphins, we have to talk about and we have to cover it because that’s our job here at the channel. And if they don’t trade for one, these are still the most likely options for Miami to go out and sign one. Whether it’s Asante Samuel Jr., Stefan Gilmore, Rousul Douglas, or James Bradberry. I’m cooling on Douglas for the fact that the Dolphins have offered him multiple contracts since May, and he’s declined both of them. The most recent one happening a week and a half ago, last Thursday. Um, Stefan Gilmore and Asante Samuel Jr. are probably the two that most intrigue me. I’m staying away from James Bradberry, but I will be honest, I don’t think I would complain about any player that Miami signed at cornerback if it was one of those four because that’s just where this room stands right now. And if the Dolphins do make any moves from now until the start of the regular season, which there will be a lot of them, we will have you covered. So, make sure you subscribe and have your notifications turned on as well for the daily coverage we put out because you don’t want to miss a thing. [Music]
Miami Dolphins training camp continues to roll on and Dolphins trade rumors have emerged. ESPN’s Seth Walder projected a Dolphins trade with the Kansas City Chiefs for CB Joshua Williams. Williams is a former 7th round pick who has been a contributor for the Chiefs in their two Super Bowl seasons. Williams is entering the final year of his rookie contract, is owed $3.2 MM, and could be a Chiefs cut candidate when the roster gets trimmed to 53-players. Dolphins Today host Nic Rohloff reacts to the Miami Dolphins trade rumors started by ESPN, and ponders if GM Chris Grier could make a trade for Joshua Williams before the NFL regular season!

Great video Nic and like the trade if we don't sign Gilmore
W vid nic like the trade idea
Trade in a bag of chips, he’s a 7th Rounder, we shouldn’t give anything up for him.
If we aren't getting Asante Samuel Jr it's a waste of time and money.
Giving up picks is why we are desperate atm
I've been a Dolphin fan since 1966 and I'm going to trust our young cornerback besides when you're a young player the only way you're going to get experience is to play and as long as our front seven stays healthy then the starting 11 is going to be great top 10 Defense
FINS AREN'T TRADING FOR ANY ONE.They are still specializing in finding acorns.
Who the hell is Dolphins strength coach. Our players are always getting injuries. And we need to get rid of Jackson. He is always getting injuries. He misses to many games. And he is not that good when is is playing

Would you trade for Joshua Williams? Type ‘T’ for Trade or ‘P’ for Pass

I think not something or overlooked it, with Austin Jackson reoccurring injury we need on the o-Line
If ESPN wants it to happen, you know it's bad for the FINS
Wow, this is garbage click bate. Blocked
Bring-back-Kendal-Fuller !
T 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
This team is such a mess its damn embarrassing!!!!

The guy from Buffalo is better
Time is running out and the. Dolphins have to do something besides stalling!
I would definitely trade for Williams. At worst he's just like the CBs we already have, but I'd assume he'd be an improvement over them…and for a low draft pick trade. Do it. Get it done. Bottom 10 CB room is not something to just sit on.
We are waiting on cuts
Do the right thing for once pick up Asante Samuel and stopplaying around
Teams I don’t wanna do business with: Chiefs, Bills, Cowboys, Packers, Patriots, 49ers, and fk Rasul too. Being “loyal” to a team that wouldn’t resign him, he’s a clown. I hope he gets injured the 10th play he’s in when he goes to whatever team he ends up with…
Boy what a Grier fuck up . Grier missed with a 1st rd pick with igbignoganee and a second rd pick on Cam smith . Those alone should get him fired at the end of the season.
