[BREAKING NEWS] Brice Turang homers twice lift MLB-leading Brewers sweep Nationals with 14-3 victory

Boy, that escalated quickly. I mean, that really got out of hand fast. This they’ve stepped it up a notch when you’re talking about not only are they winning games, they are making a statement. They are putting out exclamation points on every team that they’re facing right now. The season sweep of the Nationals, season sweep of the Dodgers. I mean, they’re playing exceptional baseball right now, especially when everybody’s contributing on the offensive side and pitchers getting it done as well. It’s only the sixth time that they’ve had a season sweep against an opponent and two of them have come this year against the Dodgers and the Nationals. And you look at some of the history that they made most hits in a three-game series. It was 52 coming into today while the Brewers added 16 more hits in the finale this afternoon to set themselves the top here in 2025 against the Nationals with 56 of those hits. And no surprise, Tim, it was really one through nine getting it done. Every single base runner or every single Brewer getting on base today. Yeah, I mean it was a barrage in pretty much the entire series. And you look at these 56 hits, 17 of those are extra base hits. They also had 14 walks in the series. There was a hit by pitch. There was sack flies. They they were doing so much mayhem um that how do you game plan for nine different hitters that are doing nine actually you could probably say 12 12 different guys doing so many different things well right now and uh covering all the all the field all the bases um it it’s it’s exceptional. It’s fun to watch. You go back 10 or 15 years ago and everybody’s trying to find a corner outfielder and a corner infielder to just hit bombs as much as possible. That’s not fun to watch. It really isn’t. watching a game like this and seeing how the Brewers can make these wins happen and how they can put up big innings and crooked numbers. I mean, it’s using the skills. It’s letting the players show off what they can do. It’s not how far they can hit a ball. It’s where they can hit a ball. It’s situational awareness. Uh, and it’s just putting that pressure. I’m telling you, this is amazing to watch. As an opponent, it just has to be exhausting. Makes your skin crawl as a pitcher looking at this lineup and how they’re doing this. It’s really fun. All nine starters got on base in every single game of this series. That’s only the second time that’s happened in Brewers franchise history. The last time it happened was 1985. Sophia Mer sitting or standing by with Bryce Terang who had his first multi home run game of his career. Thanks guys. Bryce, a huge series, huge day for you guys offensively. You turn in your first career multi-H homer game. First one on a change up, the second one on a fast ball. What was your approach today? just going up there and competing and uh you know passing on to the next guy. Wasn’t trying to do too much. Just caught it out in front and yeah, that’s about it. Well, 56 hits for you guys in this three-game series. That’s a franchise record most hits in a series. Every batter reached base in every game. How do you describe just the collective approach of just the pressure you guys were able to put together? Yeah, like I said, these guys, I mean, we’re just passing it down the line, you know, having quality at bats and, uh, trusting each other, and it turns out you end up getting hits and stuff when you’re just going up there and competing. So, um, yeah, it’s fun. It’s fun to watch. It’s fun to to play behind these guys, going out there and competing. And, um, yeah, it’s it’s been a great time. when every hitter in the lineup is getting on base, they’re contributing, guys are driving in runs, you’re you’re creating havoc out there, how much you guys just pulling for each other, right, and want to get the next guy up. Oh, yeah. I mean, it’s it’s it’s a trust that you have in everybody to get their job done and um it’s been great. It’s been fun. It’s been fun to watch and like I said, it’s it’s it’s just passing it to the next guy, you know. All right. Thanks, Bryce, for the time. Yeah, thank you. Bryce Terang with his first multi- home run game of his career. He now has a career-high eight home runs right now with where he sits in his third big league season. Our Wisconsin lottery powerball home run leaderboard. He’s up to eight on the year. He’s showing off his power once again, Tim. Well, he’s not done with career best in this season. Like, yeah, that was on a change up. He will accept all change ups that are going to be meaty like that one. And the next one was a fast ball. And what I really like is that, you know, when they put up some runs, he starts getting after it because he leaned back. He took a moment to say his goodbyes on that one. But Terrain, besides homers, he’s going to set career highs in doubles, which he had two of those in last night’s game. He’s going to set career highs in RBI’s, runs, walks. About the only thing he’s not going to do is comes to stolen bases. He had 50 like that this year. But, uh, what he is doing is improving every season. average gets higher on base percentage gets better and just his plate discipline is getting all around better. He’s seeing more pitches. He’s hitting the ball where it’s pitched. Listen, if I if I’m facing Bryce Tang today and I saw him go opposite field twice on doubles, I’m going to say I’m going to crowd this guy. Well, what does he do? He pulls two homers. To me, that’s just good hitting. That’s recognizing what you’re going to get and adjusting accordingly. And Terra’s been doing an outstanding job. Pretty good week for the Milwaukee Brewers. They go 5- one against the Cubs and Nationals hold a 2 and 1/2 game lead over Chicago in the National League. Central Brewers own the best record in all of baseball and season best 23 games over 500. It’s been fun times watching what this Milwaukee Brewers squad can do. Not only do they pass the Cubs in the standings, they actually now have the best run differential in all of baseball, plus 119 Milwaukee after this series against the Washington Nationals. You know, it was kind of a a bummer this morning when we find out the news of Jacob Mizowski going on the injured list. He’s going to miss a couple of starts. Jackson Cheerio being injured, South Frick out, and then this team reminded you just how special they can be and how they can pick each other up this afternoon. I mean, we’ve seen examples of depth throughout the entire season, especially early when you’re like, who is there going to be some starters there? What’s going on? Logan Henderson getting the call today and what he’s been able to do in the past, I thought was a great call. It’s the right call. I mean, if if if Ms. Rouseki is gonna miss a start or two, like they have guys. They have guys. And Chad Patrick pitched just a couple of days ago. So, if you’re wondering where he is, he’s doing just fine in AAA. He will be called upon, I’m sure, throughout this season. But Logan Henderson got the call today. Hadn’t pitched in a week. And listen, he was sharp. He retired the leadoff hitter in all five innings that he started. Uh 12 for 18 first pitch strike through 76 pitches. Um, I think he just got tired at the end. You saw him in the fifth inning. He was making He made three mistakes on the day. He left two fast balls over the middle and a change up up. That was it. Three mistakes. They were all hits and two of those came in the fifth inning. That’s why they pulled him. That’s why they put Ashby out there who was absolutely lights out this afternoon in our nation’s capital as the Brewers sweep the Washington Nationals this series and in this season series. And how about this? Second time this year the Brewers have swept a season series. It was the Dodgers and the Nationals. Those last two series, both coming on the road for Milwaukee. And fun fact for you in that 2011 season against the Marlins. Our own Tim Dillard had a win in that 7 nothing series sweep over Florida. Well done, partner. All right, let’s go inside the clubhouse and hear from Pat Murphy. Yeah, they’ve been good. You know, the guys are loose. Uh, and there a lot of guys haven’t played very much. you know, if you you look at Lockidge and Seagler and they don’t have very many major league ABS. So, once again, I go back to their hunger and you know, they just they want to impress. They want to be here and that matters. And then Durban’s been on the bench a couple days, so he’s like, “Wait a minute. Wait a minute.” and that matters, you know, Ortiz finding himself, you know, so all that is collectively um yeah, it’s really a healthy healthy situation when you have young hungry players, you know. What do you sense with how they’re all like, you know, not just contributing, but they’re all pulling for each other too right now when everyone’s contributing. Well, they’re all in the same boat. You know, Collins, Perkins, Seagler, Lockidge, Ortiz, they didn’t know they’re going to be in the big leagues, and they don’t know tomorrow if they’re going to be in the big leagues. So, it’s that’s kind of a good thing, you know, like they’re on guard and the guys that have been here know how hard it is and, you know, they’re trying to do what they can. But, but it starts with Yelich when you’re your top experienced offensive player is on base five times. That that sets the tone for everyone else that he’s still playing. Whether it’s 10 to1, 12 to1, or whatever it is, he’s still playing and conducting himself the way he should. So that rubs off on everybody else. How about Terra? Once a month without a home run, then he goes twice side. What what do you think of his day? Yeah, I mean he’s he’s coming into his own. He’s he’s still every year he’s taken a little bit of a step. Last year was a you know uh quantum leap with how he played defense and everything else. This year he’s kind of you know opened the season sick and with an injury and you know it was it was tough to start the season. you know, he missed a lot of spring training at the end and um then he tried to get right into it in April when it was tougher on him, but um yeah, he’s a ball player, man. He’s he’s a ball player. How did you think uh Logan handled the assignment today? Yeah, I thought Logan was great. Yeah, it really was. Um you know, he’s been through it now. How many starts has he made? Five. Is this five? Five. Yeah, he’s given us a chance in all five. You know, all we’ve won all of them he’s pitched. Yeah. Well, that that bodess well. Um, did he get the win today? No. Mike was going to print some type of record or something. I liked it. I’m not into records. You know what I mean? Records. I’m not into records. Mike, he always writes the records. So, he’ll it’ll be all over his little print out he puts out, you know, and then the guys will read it and then, you know, of course, we’ll get shut out four games in a row or something. you know, have had momentum at other points in the season and had momentum coming into the series already to some extent, but how can a series like this when you’re scoring and hitting like you have build that going into the final two months? Yeah, I think everybody’s well aware of how it’s going to be. It’s not going to be every game is not going to be like this, you know. I just I think there’s something to these guys together on the road. Um, you know, I think there’s less distractions and I think they they pull together pretty good. Um, you know, I think they know it’s still a long season. We got a long way to go, a long long journey. Uh, especially if and we got to recognize how this is happening. You know, why it’s happening. And when once we do that and then kind of commit to some things, maybe we can we can um because everybody’s feeling we’ve been at it so long, everybody’s feeling the first thing you can go to is I’m so tired. You know, like really? No, you’re not. You know what I mean? Like if your house was on fire, you’d you you’d get that energy back. Well, it’s it’s not that extreme. We’re not that personal, but um you know, there’s ways to find that energy and that adrenaline and um realize what you have. So, um we’re loose. We’re having fun, but in the back of our mind, we know that this is not going to be without its adversity. We lose Freick. We lose Churio. Nobody mentions that five guys that started that final game in last year’s playoffs. Well, six six guys that started that last game in our lineup are not with us right now. So, six guys, you know, you got them named yet? Bowers, Hoskins, Adamus, Gage, Gage, Cheerio, and Freelick and Freick and Tobias. So, look at that. You know, seven or 10 in that game are not not with us. So, it’s speaks to how these young guys are taken to their opportunity.
