Surprising Choices for Montreal’s Power Play This Season!

Welcome back to another Ab Nation video. Today we have only one subject, the power play of the Montreal Canadian for the upcoming season 2025 2026 different option for the head coach Martin Sui. Let’s dive in talking about the power play. First of all, I’m going to give you the players could play on the power play for the upcoming season. Lenson, Noah Dabson, and Mike Medson for defenseman. Then forward Nicki, Colosski and we have Kirby Dark, Patrick Liy, Evan Deidav, Zachary Bzuk, Alex and Brennan Gallagher. Now I want to show to you the performance last year on the power play for players. First Niguski 27 point with four gold following by Lane Artson 26.1 gold. Patrick Lini has 19 point with 15 goal. Cole Carfield 17 and 10 goal. Zachary Budzip with the Blues 12 and seven goal. Noah Johnson with the Islanders 12.1 gold. Finley Ueski 10.5 goal. Mike Madison also has 10 point. So a coach during the summer inside his locker room office. He have a big white board. He makes some kind of option unit number one number two and a play. And I’m going to do the same thing today to you how mate can set up his power play number one and number two for upcoming season. This is the white board we have. You can see I put five players. I believe this is going to be the popular number one at the beginning of the season. But where is even the midav coach? Deav is not going to be there at the beginning. Exactly what happening with Lane Artson last year. It took couple of weeks before Lena take the spot of Mike Madison. I think will be the same thing situation for Evan Deidov. Then if the midv go in is going to be right here that move lining out that put cfield where he’s supposed to be usually and that put Zuski in the middle and the middle is going to be at the spot of Zuski. This is an option number two for the Montreal Canedian. Now you’re going to tell me, “Oh, but maybe we can move Sakuski out of the power play.” All right, let’s try this exercise. If Sakuski go out of this, the middle of stay there, Zuski go up, Cfield go back in the middle, and Lonnie return right here. Or you can use also the slapshot or Thompson if you want to do that. But it’s not the best for the MAR Canadian. If you look this power play unit number three, but this is not good in front of net. Never he played that role for the Mian. I don’t think this is really the good one for the Mian need to be in front of net. Zi have to be right here. If you don’t want to use line, cfield go there. go there. If you want to remove the midav outski move here move here and Patrick Lani move here opinion they are the unit number one only now let’s try unit number two Marti first as a bumper is going to be Zakiri Bz of course defenseman I Remove. I put Noah Thompson right here. Remove Lonnie here. I put Kirby right here. Remove Zuzi. Deid is going to be there. Now you have Sakiski out. We have a choice between New Hook or Gallagher. That’s all. I would put Gallagher right here. He does this many time with a M in the end. This is unit number two. There are no spot for Alex the hook. The only musketation I can do is you remove Doc. Then you put Dobson right here. Then you put Mike Medson right here. That’s it. You can also maybe move Giger out if you and bring back Kirby Duck and find the net. Now let’s do it with Patrick Lining. Hey Patrick Lani go there. Now let’s do it with Patrick Lani. Lanni is going there. Thompson is going there. Madison is out. You’re back right here. You put Patrick Lani right here. Demiid is out cuz Lonnie is in. So I’m going to remove Demid. Now you have a choice. Alex New York. That’s pretty much all the option for the Montreal Canadian for the upcoming season for Martin St. Louis. Let’s go back on this board and that’s what I want to give to you guys. The properly unit number one is Lson, Patrick Liy, Karfield, Nickski and Ura Sakski. Unit number two it will be Noah Damson Kidak Berning Gallagher Zachary Bzuk and Evan Deid. I know you’re going to tell me co year round, but they are my opinion.     Choices made in Aug usually are incorrect !

  3. At this time, PP2 would remove Dach, have Bolduc as the bumper, Gallageur in front of the net, Dobson and matheson as D. and Demidov. That can change before we even start the season

  5. One thing's for sure, there's more options for the powerplay this season than last and two solid units. Demidov's already seen PP time, with his puck handling and passing I wouldn't be surprised to see him there right away.

  6. Honestly Coach, that is how I see PP1 and PP2. It is just the way you described it. As an outside the box way way different idea, would be to park Xhakej in front of the net for PP2!!! What do you think?

  7. Fun video coach! The Hab's coaching staff will have plenty of options for the PP lines. They will probably shuffle the lines frequently, and the hot players will occupy PP1.

My only concern with Laine and Hutson together is, if Hutson doesn’t shoot more often teams will be over playing Laine, and Montreal had no answer to that question when teams were good at it… that’s why I would always play him with Dobson… now if teams take away Laine shot … Dobson can rip it from the point… it will all be settled in the first month of the season

  11. PP1 Caufield, Suzuki, Slav, Demidov, Hutson PP2 Laine, Dach, Bolduc, Gallagher, Dobson. I could see Laine starting in place of Demidov and changing after a few weeks. I hope that is not the case.

  12. Salut Coach . Dach is a BIG question mark , where is he , he's not in Brossard . 3 guys that are in Brossard though and are excelling these days at practices are , Demidov stickhandling is magical , Laine is a NEW man and I think he wants to stay in Montreal, he's working hard on his stickhandling , on 3 on 3 scrimages he is untouchable, very illusive , I believe Laine will surprise us all next season and have his BEST season ever, Suzuki work ethic is the example all players should try to achieve at practices. Dobes is outstanding and will be the best backup goalie in the NHL behind Montembeault.
    Caufield is the best bumper role player on the habs , Slafkovsky passing is underated BUT he needs to start the season stronger than he did last year. My first line would be : Suzuki , Laine , Slaf , Hutson , Caufield as Bumper. 2nd line , Bolduc , Dach ( maybe ) or Demidov , Caufield , Dobson , Gallagher bumper role.
