Tennessee Titans fan is MAD watching Shannon Sharpe and Ochocinco defend Cam Ward’s Madden rating

Tennessee Titans fans, we are here today checking out a clip of Shannon Sharp and Chad Oosenko talking about the Madden ratings for which Cam Ward was ranked lower than people like Cam Scatteraboo. Let’s hear these two guys talk about this. Oo, they mad at you. NFL fans are hot rating. He got a 72. Travis Hunter has the highest rating for a rookie. He has an 84. Aston Genty has an 83. Abdul Carter is an 81. Mason Graham is an 80. Will Campbell and Jalon Walker uh are 79. All of these people, the number one pick in the draft, we’re not even close to him yet. 78. Muel Williams, Michael Williams, I think. Michael is 78. Maxwell Haristston is a 78. Uh Cam Ward did not even crack the top 10 of Madden rookie. Crack the top seven. Absolute joke. Oh Joe, what you got to say for yourself? Listen, I got I got something to say off of those. You got people that are complaining about obviously players on their team that got drafted into the first round. Now we talk about not just the first round, the number one overall pick. We talk about um Travis Hunter, Abdul Carter. Obviously, if if if you if you if you watch, you know, collegiate football, they were exceptional. We got a Heisman winner and we got Nobody’s already almost broke Baron Sanders rushing record. Exactly. Let’s understand what they did. Now, Young Bull, that’s that’s my dude. Cam Ward was phenomenal at him and turning that program around. But listen, this is what we saw fit to put him as before the season starts. You have to remember, some of these players haven’t played a down in the NFL yet. And everybody uh what some none of them have. None of them have. They’re rookies. Am I Am I Am I crazy? They’re rookies, Chad. Oh, Joe. None of them have played in the NFL yet. You have to keep in mind some of them haven’t played in the NFL yet. No, none of them have. That’s why they’re rookies. They rated to be super high when they done nothing. Now, rightfully so. That’s That may be That may be the dumbest argument I’ve ever heard in my life. Like, imagine if you hired 30 new people at your job and you were like, “Keep in mind, some of these people haven’t ever worked here before.” None of them have. That’s his justification behind why some people or why the number one overall pick would be ranked at a 71 is that well some people haven’t played in the NFL before. Travis Hunter has Will Campbell has. They’re rookies. Travis Hunter a special individual. Asen Genty a special individual. I’m not saying that Cam Ward is not special. He is that being the quarterback number one for the Tennessee Titans. But listen, a 71 injustifiable, which most rookies come in at the quarterback position at. And how you getting mad? This is nothing but room to improve. What we do at at EA, what we do at EA for Madden, there’s a 17 game season that’s coming up, right, right Joe? Absolutely. Week to week that rating continues to rise and raise based on consistent. It could drop too that that too. So listen, by by no means is this where he’s going to be at, but it can improve week to week, so it shouldn’t be a problem. Some of the players might be upset. He he offered nothing even resembling an explanation. His explanation behind why the number one overall pick in the draft is and and I mean this when I say this, do you think oo knows that Cam Ward was the number one overall pick? Like, do you think he knows or do you think he just thinks Travis Hunter was the number one pick cuz ESPN gave it so little coverage? Like, do you really like I’m being serious. I wonder if he actually doesn’t know that Cam Ward was the number one overall pick because the explanation that he just gave was so asinine that I can’t even wrap my head around it. No offense to Cam, but I mean, these other guys are special. He’s the number one overall pick of the draft. You You guys are going nuts over Caleb Williams. I don’t know if you’ve seen the clip from the Bears practice. The dude can’t even make it into the net on the throwing drills. Am I am Am I in an alternate universe? Cam Ward, I love you. You know how I feel about you, boy. You hear me? I I don’t. Week to week as you ball and you play consistent. You got Calvin really over there, huh? I know what you’re gonna do. You got Tyler Lockett. I know what you’re gonna do. Week to week. It’s gonna continue to rise. And I got you. It it is nothing to be ashamed of. Not Yeah. When I came out, I was I was a 67. Were you the number one overall pick though? Were you the the quarterback selected first overall to come in and change the face of the franchise? I’m baffled right now. I ain’t complaining. And I like coach that that put a Hey, why why is it so hard though for rookies to come into Madden with like a 86 88 rating? I understand. You know, we want Yeah. I’m saying Travis Hunter’s at 84. Travis Hunter’s at 80. It’s hard for rookies to come in there with that high of a number. Travis Hunter’s at 84. He’s right there. And he has not played a snap. Why? I’m saying so if there isn’t there isn’t there’s never going to be a rookie that’s can come in and that could dominate right away. Travis Hunter is two points away from where he’s at. I understand I understand oo oo I understand that you know during the season your rating can go up and down. I think yeah you know uh you know what I mean but why everybody has to start so low. It’s probably what avid gamers are really thinking like, man, why he got to be so low when obviously, you know, he’s the number one overall pick. Why does he got to start so low? Seems like a reasonable question for the number one overall pick in the draft. Why are we talking about Cam Ward like he’s a second or third rounder? He’s the number one overall pick. Numerous teams were trying to trade up to get him and you guys are acting like you don’t even know where going. Oh, let me ask you ask him this. Let me ask you a question. As an avid gamer, were you where were did you start where you are now or did you had to work your way up? See, you didn’t come in Kasanette did not come in with this big scream this big screaming platform and have all these subs. He had to work his way up. No matter how popular somebody is if if LeBron I mean it doesn’t matter he’s the number one overall pick something that they haven’t worked for. You look I get Travis Hunter got a 84 but he probably upset that he didn’t get 90. He probably like man I should be a 99 cuz said I won the Heisman Trophy. I won the uh uh I won the Bitna Bitnikov award. I won this award. I’m the defensive player of the year. Yada yada yada. So he thinks his rating is uh is is low at 84. Yeah. Everybody wants to come. Everybody’s like, “Man, I should be a 99. I should be this. I should be that.” Damn. I mean, no, you don’t have to be a 99, but I’d take maybe higher than Cam Scataboo since you’re the number one overall pick. This is ridiculous. This is ridiculous. They’re not even offering an explanation. They’re pretty much just saying, “Well, you know, people got to understand, you’re coming in as a rookie. You’re not going to be ranked that high.” Okay, never mind. Tra, they’re pretty much just telling you, “We like Travis Hunter.” That’s what they’re trying to say. We like Travis Hunter, and so we put him higher than everybody else just cuz we like him. He played for our boy. Give it time. Who I’m glad got a good report on his uh cancer diagnosis. Well, they they used to didn’t even have no rating, so I went from a zero to 100. So, anything’s possible. Yeah. See, it’s it’s a good thing. Travis Hunter, if people understand the accolades and the resume that come behind why he’s a 84, you’d understand. If you look at Asen Genty, what do you get out of here, dude? Get out of here. What did he just say not even five minutes ago? You got to keep in mind these rookies, they’ve come in, they’ve never even played NFL football. That applies to Travis Hunter, too. I know he won all these awards in college and won the Heisman Trophy, but my goodness gracious, he ain’t played a down of NFL football yet. Why does he get the benefit of the doubt? Accomplish at the collegiate level. There’s a reason why he’s rated where he is. There’s nothing wrong with Cam Ward. Nothing at all, right? He’s a great quarterback. I’m hoping he’s quarterback number one for Tennessee and he does the same. That just tells you they don’t even watch. They don’t even know what’s going on in Tennessee because if they did, they would know he’s quarterback number one. They would know Will Levice is having shoulder surgery and they would know that that’s not even a topic of discussion anymore. The fact that they’re still wondering if he’s even quarterback one tells you all you need to know. Same goddamn thing CJ Strad did for Houston and the same goddamn thing Jaden Daniels did for goddamn Washington. How many times can we say is good. How many times can we say it? Know these great ratings in it. You have nothing to look forward to. You have nothing to look forward to. there’s room for improvement. And if he plays how I feel and know he can play week to week, by the time you get to week 15, week 16, hell. So, you’re saying it’s based on we don’t know what they’re going to do, but you’re not keeping that same energy when it comes to Hunter and Genty and some of these other guys that are ranked over 10 points higher than the number one overall pick. Get out of here. He could be a 86, 87. Mhm. You’re not going to make everybody happy with the radio joke. You You understand that? Is Yeah, but we’re talking about the number one overall. Anytime you’re dealing with something subjective, there’s going to always be Yeah. Subjective this, subjective that. You’re not going to be able to please everybody this. Can’t make everybody happy. That we’re talking about the number one pick. We’re not talking about just some random guy that got taken at the top of the second. We’re not talking about some guy that just got drafted in the middle. We’re not talking about Tyler Shuck. We’re talking about the number one overall pick. Why are y’all acting like we’re just talking about any old random guy? We’re talking about the number one overall pick in the draft. Uh uh uh a problem with the judges or or who in your case a judge who who helps adjust the Madden rating. And so that’s what you’re going to have. I mean, it’s just like anything, anything that’s subjective because, you know, if it’s diving, if it’s gymnastics, anything that’s left up to judges, unless I win, unless it’s a perfect 10 or in this case, a perfect 99, somebody’s going to have something to No, it ain’t about a perfect 99. It’s just higher than a 71. Maybe higher than Cam Scataboo, who was drafted in the third round to the Giants. Maybe. Maybe it’s just about that. Let’s just cross that little bar first. Y’all talking about they all want to be a 99 overall. No, but I mean number one overall pick should probably be higher than a running back taken in the third round that might not even start. Talking about 99 overall. No, I mean I was just saying in principle maybe higher than some of the third rounders since he was the number one overall pick. say, “Yeah, it’s all uh yes, somebody’s gonna have something to say.” Uh, pass the t like, “Bro, I went defensive player of the year and I ain’t a 99. I’m all I’m all pro. I’m a Pro Bowler.” Backto back Pro Bowl season. They’ve yet to have anything resembling an explanation. So, what do I have to do to get a 90? He’s probably thinking uh uh and I’m I haven’t talked to him, but I’m saying, “Oh, he’s probably thinking what I got to win MVP.” Hold on. He He done tweeted me now. He didn’t he he didn’t got me. I told him I told him, “Win, I got you. I got you. Relax. I know what you did last year. We understand how special you special you are. Hell, we had a whole goddamn dissertation with the with the premier season in the NFL about how difficult it is to get open on you. I’mma take care of you. I’mma get you.” But as it is all, and this is this a funny thing, hey Joe, this this what this what this what kind of irks my nerve. All the people that are complaining about the ratings, right? All these avid gamer, all these Madden enthusiasts like y’all complain about ratings and not even good at the game. They not even they not even they just complain just be complaining because I’m not an avid gamer nor do I care about how good I am at the game. But it for me it’s more of a principle thing that you’re sitting here trying to like pull something in your back grasping at straws trying to come up with a good reason as to why the number one overall pick is rated lower than a third round running back and some of these other guys and not even close to some of his other first rounders. And let me just say this, if he had been drafted to the Giants, he’d be higher. Uh if he had been draft if if the Giants had traded up and gotten him, he’d be higher. If the Browns had traded up and gotten him, he’d be higher. If the Saints had traded up and gotten him, he’d be higher. You know, you could sit here all day and say, “I’ve got love for Cam Ward. I think he’s good.” But let’s just tell the truth. You You saw him get drafted to Tennessee and you decided 71. If you were really good, the rating wouldn’t matter because it’s all about your stick work and being able to manipulate maneuvers on how to play like nobody. Hey, hey, small fun fact Joe and something you didn’t know. Not only by the Madden rating adjusted, right? You know I’m the best Madden player in the world. I’m the best Matt play. I don’t really care about your smack talk about stuff man. That’s all I do. Hey Joe, I lost relation. Second most rush yards 1920 1921. And I’m like I ain’t I ain’t a 99. He like what more do I got to do? So look make everybody a 99. Nobody’s asking you to make everybody a 99. I’m asking for the number one overall pick in the draft to get a little more respect than a 71. Like I’m I’m not saying you got to make him a 99 overall. You’re making up that narrative. I’m just saying let’s have a little more respect for the number one overall pick. And don’t tell me that it’s just a Madden thing cuz I’ve been watching it since the night he got drafted. Y’all hadn’t cared about him since the word go. It ain’t just y’all. Is ESPN. It’s everybody. This is just the latest case of somebody not caring about the number one overall pick because of where he got drafted. 99. That’s what I’m that’s the point that I’m getting at is that everybody unless you are 99 really only the ones that have the 99 are happy with their grade. Everybody else whether they got a 98, 97, 96, we’re not talking about y’all are talking about something that’s irrelevant to me. Do they ever talk about anything relevant? Hey, I got I got a few text messages. Yeah, absolutely. Pass and be like, “Come on, Oo, do me do me do me right. Do me just tell them one thing. If you got a problem with your your ratings, okay, so they’re just talking about everybody else now. They’re they’re talking about everybody. I don’t really care about everybody else. I care about the number one overall pick in the draft. And I’m not saying he should be a 99 overall. I’m not even saying he should be an 80 overall, but but man, having him at like a 71 72 when you have people taken in much later rounds ranked ahead of him, that’s just disrespectful, man. That’s disrespectful. The number one overall pick in the draft, it’s a quarterback. And to sit here and mouth off about all of this, well, some of these guys haven’t played in the NFL yet, when none of them have, you just you like some of them more than others. That’s insulting, man. And I like Oo, and I like and I like Shannon. I like everything. Like, I I like these guys, but like, give me something more than than that. That’s just lame, man. That’s lame. 1. It sucks but they do these ratings based on positions. I don’t agree with this but ocho is trying to make cam earn it. He’s a rookie and because he’s drafted by the titans, he’s really going to have to raise his stocks by all means necessary.

  2. I seen cam reaction of his rating and he wasn’t too pissed about it..he said he expected it so I think he’s coming out this season with a chip on his shoulder just like all his life..can’t wait to see my boy prove the haters and over lookers wrong!! Titanup!!

  3. Come on Brad, from the very beginning for whatever reason, Cam hasn't been graded as high as other #1 QB"s, especially considering the lowly Titans taking him. I know it's still early, but Cam and Brian Callahan's office are struggling mightily against the defense. Quite a few picks and tipped balls

  4. You have often (this offseason) confused the number 1 overall pick in the draft meaning the number 1 overall player in the draft.

Not sure why the issue with the rating

  5. Bro I love you brad. Watch your show every day and I love my Titans but you say "the #1 pick" like he's the number 1 player. Again I love my team and Cam but he's not the top player like you make it seem. Yes they do a horrible job at explaining why it is that way but I don't need them to justify it to know why his rating is what it is. It will go up when he balls out for us. No big deal. Titan up ⚔️

  6. Caleb Williams and Bryce were both 1st overall picks and they were BOTH higher than Cam Ward. I don't get it but I'm not surprised by it

  7. Cam ward was the #1 pick because he’s a QB not because he’s the best player. That’s what you’re missing. All those guys with better ratings are BETTER PLAYERS. Teams get desperate and draft QBs high, that doesn’t magically make them better.

  8. Does everyone have short memories or something? Every year when quarterbacks are drafted, they hardly ever go above 76. Caleb Williams was hyped to high heaven and he got 75 or 76. I think that Caleb Williams the way he was hyped up. Should be at least three skill points overall higher based on the hype around. Caleb versus the hype around cam Ward. It's normal they do this every year so instead of crying everybody just compare to previous rookie quarterbacks ratings. They're all like this. I'm also tired of dude talking about. Don't you know he's the number one overall pick? Yeah cuz he's a quarterback quarterbacks are overpaid and overdrafted. They paid dude on the jaguars a bunch of money and he has never lived up The money the Titans drafted cam Ward in a crappy quarterback draft at number one because they didn't have a quarterback just because you draft a QB at 1 doesn't mean they're automatically an 86 overall quarterbacks drafted in Madden always have a low rating if cam Ward was drafted in last year's draft. He might not even have been worth a pic in the top five so you have to have perspective instead of getting mad. This was a week quarterback draft. Overall talent wise Travis Hunter is more talented as of now but cam Ward is more valuable as a rookie because he is a quarterback so he is going to get drafted higher. If you don't need a quarterback and you are at one on the draft board, do you draft a wide receiver instead? No you know that another team is desperate and needs a quarterback and you trade down because you would be drafting too high. People will reach to draft quarterbacks that aren't especially talented but are drafted high because they are quarterbacks basic NFL logic people reach for them all the time and Madden knows this. There are a bunch of first round quarterbacks including first round picks that end up being washed no matter how much hype there is prior to the draft. Bryce young, for example, so it's not disrespectful. It's logical even if a quarterback. Is it a fantastic prospect teams that need one will trade up to get them or draft them high because they need one and they aren't going to wait another season for a better prospect. That's why people like Spencer rattler get drafted.
