Austin Riley to IL, Nacho Alvarez Back Up
It’s nacho time again as Austin Riley goes back on the injured list. This time with a lower abdominal strain, Jake Mastriani here from Lockdown Braves. And while we certainly hate to see Austin Riley go on the injured list once again as he’s a one of the players that needs to have a big finish to the season to feel much better going into 2026. It’s been a rough year for him both at the plate and injurywise once again. So would love to see Austin Riley get back and finish strong. But it does give give us another opportunity to see what Nacho Alvarez can do last time up. Also replacing Austin Riley. He looked great defensively at third, but still haven’t seen him make that adjustment with the bat to be the same type of hitter we’ve seen him be at the minor league level. He’s been playing second base since they sent him back down to Gwynette. We’ll see if he gets some opportunities there as well. But Austin Riley back on the injury list. Nacho Alvarez back up to get another performance from him to see what the future holds for Nacho Alvarez with the Braves. We’ll talk more about this over on the next episode of Lockdown Braids.
