N the RA still very high, but his stuff has been lethal lately. Making his first career start against the Houston Astros tonight. The first ball is put in the play in play deep to center field. Jacob Marcy’s got it. One pitch and one out. The first one, two coming in the air to right. Going back is Meyers. He’s got it. Two away for Sandy here in the first. That is ripped to third. Paul, he’s got it. Nice snag. Throws it to first. A perfect one, two, three. Top of the first inning for Sandy Alcantra. Alexander making his ninth appearance of the season and his fourth start. First pitch to Xavier Edwards is bounced fair over the bag at first. Picked up cleanly by Christian Walker. Leaves the ball club in average homers and RBI’s. Chop assists to Walker. Busy here in the bottom of the first. Two away. And our guys are doing a wonderful job of that. There’s a fly ball in the air to right. Cam Smith, the rookie’s got it measured and the inning is over. The Marlins leave a man on here in the first now. A 3-1. That is banged on a line to right. Dane Meyers making his 10th start in right field. Has got it. Five up and five down for S. He was four for five in Boston over the weekend. And there’s a line drive. It’s caught by Otto. Took it easy. Perfect second for Sandy. righties. It’s not really a good pitch for right-handers, but his pitch is so good that he will feature it quite a bit. Throw to first by Altuve in time, one away. Let’s go downstairs and check in with Jeremy. First 12 plate appearances in the history of the game going back to 1920. Here he swings and misses and that change up you were talking about. There’s two away here for Alexander a little bit. A little bit. Well, there’s a swing and a miss. Quick and easy second inning for Alexander. [Music] grounded to short. Piece of cake for Mr. Lopez. One away. Parts of five seasons for Trel. Started in the big leagues in 2021 with the Mariners. 3-2 coming. Swinging a miss. 99 upstairs. Two away. Well, here’s a homecoming for Cam Smith. And he grounds one softly to third. Paulie’s got to hurry. Got rid of it quickly in a perfect third for Sandy. World’s largest and fastest halfmile track. Let’s see a good ball game. Dane Myers first pitch swinging to open up the bottom of the third. We’re just cruising here tonight. You wouldn’t change up. That’s a fair ball over the bag at first. Rolling down the right field line into the corner. Smith digs it out. Plays it in. A one out double for Paulie. Now we’ll go back to the top of the order. He was raving about him. Line drive to first. Caught by Walker. Paulie dives back into the bag at second. You know what else? That is ripped out towards second. Altuve’s got it and the inning is over. After three, we’re scoreless. He’s a really fun player to watch as he waits on the one-two. And he bangs that out towards the gap in left center field. Sters cuts it off. Pñena is on his way to second. Here comes a throw off the mark. Not in time. Lead off double. Seventh double on the season for the Astros. That is ripped into right and it might be number 168 to give him the lead off the bat of Jesus Sanchez. One- nothing Houston. Early lead here in the fourth. Altuve with a bunt. Pretty good. Paulie bare hands it. Then he slips and everybody is safe. Marlins willing to exchange a pair of outs for a run. Runner takes off. Pitches a called strike and the throw down to second is not in time. [Applause] First pitch to Walker. Chopped to first. Johnston’s got it. He goes down to second for one. And that’s all they’ll get. Altuve broke on contact. If Johnston looked home, he might have had a play at the plate. That should have been a double play though. And that is ripped into right field. Down for a base hit for Victor Keratini. Walker will stop at second. has 32 RBI’s with runners in scoring position this season. And he’s got more. One run will score. Two runs are going to score. A two-run double for Diaz. It’s 5 nothing Houston. This is hard to do. I agree. There’s a swing and a miss and TL’s down on strikes for the second time tonight. Swinging a miss. Inning over. Five runs, six hits. After three at a half, it’s 5 nothing Houston. Really is a place still in this game for these soft tossing righties. In the air to right center field, hit it pretty good, but back on the track is Treml. He’s got it. There’s two away from 2004 through 2009. There’s a swing and a miss. And Jason is just rolling here tonight with a five nothing lead. Broken bat flare into shallow center and diving is Marcy and he’s got it. Fires one back to first. Not in time. What a terrific catch by Jacob Marcy in center field to rob Jesus Sanchez of a hit. He’s been tremendous since coming up to the big league. Uh but up until this point he has not taken off. Ground ball to the backand of Lopez. Fires it to first in time inning over. A scoreless fifth inning for Alcon. Where are we going? Where are we at? Who we playing? Swing and a miss by Marcy. Second time tonight a Marlin has lost their bat. That change up, man. It’s just dirty. Where the Marlins will be next weekend actually. Another change up. Swing and a miss. Inning over. This is ripped and trouble. There’s a change up that Pion just waloped into the corner. Smith can fly. Throw coming to the plate is high. 6 nothing Houston. Jeremy Pena with his second hit of the ball game. He flies this into shallow left. Lopez has a beat on it and he makes the catch. That ball almost bounced. Really, really crazy. 02 is called strike three and the inning is over. Astros get a run and they have themselves a six nothing lead on the strength of nine hits off of Alcantra tonight. And he blasts one in the air to left field and deep. Sanchez going back, looking up and gone. No way. He might be in there tomorrow. He better be in there tomorrow. He did it in front of his idol. Jose Alt, you got to be kidding me. Milwaukee Brewers as Hill lays into one and he hits it in the air to deep to left field. Sanchez is going back at the wall and this is gone. Backto back pinch hit home runs for the Marlins here in the seventh. Welcome back Deill [Applause] [Music] Edwards swings and he hits the 2-1 in the air deep to left. Sanchez going back. He knows it well out there but he can’t make the catch. be a two out double count one. He’s choking up and he swings and he flies it to left. Sanchez started in now he goes back. He’s got it and the inning is over in in the days leading up to the Marlins trip to Houston been traded there and this is a problem. And Lopez’s failure to tag out the runner has resulted in another run and an RBI double here in the eighth. Yeah, they had a little bit of a binch clearing clearing brawl, didn’t it? Not Brawl, but shallow right and a dive by Meyers. He can’t get it. It’s another run. It’s 8-2. Yes, former Philly right-hander. The failure by Lopez to tag out the runner leads to two extra runs here in the top of the eight. And it’s 8 to2 Houston after seven and a half. Second and Charlie Ramos is at first. He’ll have the plate tomorrow. picks flares one into left. Ramirez is headed towards third. Now they’ve got him caught in a rund down. Oh no. Boy, they have had a total mental lapse. Now there’s going to be two out. Win games and he jammed him with 97. And with the help of the Marlins, Brayu gets himself out of the eighth with Slug, too. He He can hit homers. He had 22 homers, a careerhigh in 2023, but he’s down on strikes to begin the ninth. And going there when they leave here. Yeah. Back to Gibson. And there’s two away. Chopper. Gibson’s got it. Three up, three down. Marlins trail by six as we go to the bottom. Well, tough night for the fish as Hill bounces out to short. Pñena is consistent at shortstop. It’s going to be loud in that place for him. Two away. Tough night for Dane. Just 3-2. Swinging a miss. Filthy splitter. And that is your ball game. Too much. Alexander the starter for the Astros. He really didn’t give our guys a whole lot to hit. Lots of change ups, lots of sweepers.

Leggggoooo
Houston kicking some booooty. Love it
Isaac Paredes will not be undergoing surgery, but when will he be back? Do you think he'll be able to play in next year's World Baseball Classic?
Playing against lesser teams was nice, but the Marlins better start hitting or it's going to be a sh1t show from now on.
Time for the 'Stros to get back on track…nice start…Alexander looked pretty crisp out there, where's he been all year?
Alexander pitched solid. Great win boys. 👏👏👏
Show rrea….. Correa… cmon bud. We need 2017 Correa
The pitcher Jason Alexander got the same name of the actor of George Costanza in sitcom Seinfeld
