The NBA Has A Glitch In The Matrix
You ever notice that when it comes to LaMelo Ball, whenever they try to describe his game, whenever these analysts try to tell you what he should be doing, they never actually explain what he does, they’re always these keywords or trigger words like exciting, fun, but they never give you a deep analysis on how LaMelo’s actual play style how affects the game. In this video today on the lit house, we’re going to discuss with you on why LaMelo Ball is the NBA’s one and only current anomaly. Make sure y’all share the video, like the video, subscribe to the channel. We’ve all heard these adjectives that have been used to describe LaMelo Balls game. Stop me if you heard these before. fun player, exciting player, league pass hall of fame. These adjectives that were once used to describe LaMelo as this exciting player that were seemingly positive have slowly throughout the years become a way to kind of disrespect his game. Guys like Tim Bolms, Brian Winhurst, Kevin O’Connell, Bill Simmons, Ryan Rousilo. All of these guys take liberty any chance they get to sell to the NBA public that LaMelo is this distasteful brand of unserious basketball. I think it’s more about they don’t know what they’re looking at than he’s actually not a guy you can win with. Like I said in the intro, today I’m going to prove beyond a shadow of a doubt, it’s not that you can’t win with LaMelo, and it’s not that it’s a guy that you should look at with disdain when he’s playing on the court, but really you’re just looking at a rare art piece. I want to start there. LaMelo the rare art piece. I mean, we all know about the Mona Lisa. We know about the paintings in the Cyine Chapel. But one of the most memorable pictures that has ever been drawn or sketched is Van Go Star Night. Even though it doesn’t have the traditional look of a statue in a cyine chapel, you still get the feeling that you’re looking at something rare and something special. But it’s only to the watchful eye and trained eye that knows what it’s looking at. When you think LaMelo Ball, think anti-system. I want to lean into this idea of LaMelo being a disruptor to the now. With the advent of traditional or I’m sorry, positionalist basketball, you started to see a thing where what we call signature and DNA when it comes to individual play styles has been something that has become frowned upon in the league. keys. In the golden age, between the mid90s and the early 2000s, each NBA superstar had a particular signature and DNA to his game that made the viewing public value that particular player. And because of this style and style of play, fans appreciated individuals more. In this day and age, system is key. They talk a lot about coaches. They talk a lot about fit. They talk a lot about the system and how the system actually works. But when you focus too much on the system, then the game becomes average. And one of the things that fans constantly complaining on NBA Twitter and NBA subreddit is the lack of true superstars in the game. LaMelo represents that old style of DNA where each individual star has its own style of play. Now I can already hear you as you watch this video. Well, LaMelo is more new age. He’s more social media generation. He dresses like a streamer. He’s tatted head to toe. He is aloof when it comes to interviews. But once again, when you’re studying an anomaly, when you’re studying a glitch in the system, you have to make sure you know what you’re looking at. LaMelo’s game, by all intents and purpose, is a throwback. He’s not the systematic style of player that a Tyrese Hallebertton is or a Jaylen Bronson where based off the system that they play in, they thrive because they’re very intelligent, high IQ players that are able to manipulate their system. LaMelo is counterintuitive to a system. You don’t build LaMelo in a system. You build the system around LaMelo. That’s the key that they are forgetting to mention when they discuss him in NBA spaces. LaMelo is a throwback when you watch his game. Think guys like Jason Williams. I got a better one for you. Jamal Crawford. Matter of fact, we can go back 40 years prior, 50 years prior. Pistol Pete Maravic. I challenge you to put on footage side by side of LaMelo Ball and Pistol Pete Maravic. And the similarities that you’ll see in their games would make you think that sometimes you’re watching the same player or at least a master and a student because LaMelo has his own unique DNA. when they’re saying these things like he’s a fun player and an exciting player and he doesn’t make winning plays. How many times do they negate him getting injured because he’s diving out of bounds for a loose ball when the Hornets are down 10? How many times do they negate where it would be safe not for him to take that shot? Because for his own individual stats, it suffers. it’ll have him shooting a bad true shooting percentage, but if he doesn’t take that shot, he hurts his team because he’s the best weapon available at the time in a situation where it’s ISO offense. See, with system players, they’re able to be shielded by the system that the team is running on that given night. If the system doesn’t work, then the Indiana Pacers shots, they just weren’t falling. The Boston Celtics just had a historically bad night from three, and that’s just because the shots weren’t falling. But when you’re dealing with outliers that are polarizing like a lamelo ball, if he makes a highlight reel shot off one leg and it’s a three-pointer, it’s categorized as a Russian roulette moment that is not a high quality shot, but it’s fun to watch. But if he misses that same shot, then he’s not a serious player. It’s a lose lose. But this is what happens when you are a glitch in the system. LaMelo’s style of play. The only person I can say has a similar revolutionary DNA to their game in this current NBA is Kyrie Irving. And if you think about it, although Kyrie Irvin is a respected all-time great NBA point guard, he still is looked at as an anomaly. He still is spoken about in a way where other players at the same position that I think are far less skilled are constantly elevated above him. It’s because the journalism that is in the NBA now is a journalism that is a system journalism. It’s not a journalism that’s built on culture that’s built on loving the finness or the refinement to a player’s game. When you’re looking at Kyrie Irving and a LaMelo Ball, these two that that seem like anomalies in this current current period of basketball, you got to look at them as fine art, but fine art that is falls in the abstract category. You can’t look at them as the Mona Lisa or one of the sculptures in the 16 chapter. When I watch LaMelo’s game, the highlight row passes, the insane handles at 67, the ability to have the vision up the court to one hand scoop pass to a guy to an open layup or the enigmatic one-on-one moves that lead to an offbalance three. I don’t look at him as traditional fine art. I look at him as a painting from a Vincent Van Go, a starry night. Unless you can appreciate what LaMelo brings to the game in that way, then to me, you’re not qualified to speak about it. The third part I would like to discuss, culture. LaMelo is culturally appropriate for a time where basketball was king in the inner cities. Everything about LaMelo’s game, if you watch it, you can see since Chino Hills was a game that was built off of competition and competing. His style of play to this day with the boneheaded fouls that we love to talk about. They resemble a kid that once was the run of the litter that always had to play up. When you look at his style at Chino Hills, although they love to talk about the highlights, they love to show the wild three-point shots while pointing at half court pulling up carelessly. They don’t talk about the scrappiness and the willingness to compete with guys on the varsity level when he was just coming out of middle school. They want to convince you that those silly fouls that he makes in these NBA games is not a wanting to win, is not a wanting to compete. instead of downing him for the style of relentless play that he plays with, which sometimes throws cautiousness into the wind. Instead of just disrespecting his entire game, I think LaMelo will benefit off of certain tweaks at certain times. I don’t think LaMelo is a guy that is not focused on success in Charlotte. I don’t think LaMelo is a guy that is not focused on putting his team in the best situations. I think LaMelo is one of the rare 1 percentile uh players that has ever come through the league that is so talented with so many gifts that sometimes he has to know when to pick and shoot. I liken it to Neo waking up in the Matrix and the evolution he went through through movies 1 through six. Everyone likes to show the scene where he’s dodging the shots, but no one shows the progression that he went through through movie one through three. I also like it to Goku’s Ultra Instinct. The first time we all saw Goku go Ultra Instinct, we were amazed with the look and the just absolute stunning visuals and abilities of that form in Dragon Ball Super. What we did not talk about is because of all of those gifts that came with that form, how long it took for for Goku to master it. I feel like LaMelo is an enigma that has to find his own style within his own DNA and know what works on the NBA level. Know when to do what. That’s his biggest weakness in my estimation. Being blessed with too many gifts and not knowing when and how to pull these things out. When I see this guy break his wrist, diving on the floor for a loose basket, or I see him in a game that’s out of control, jumping out of bounds and hurting his ankle and sacrificing for his team, or getting a steal on the other end and a bad pass being made and I’m rushing down and committing a foul to keep the other guys from scoring. I don’t see a guy that doesn’t care. I see a guy that is a competitor but is so much more talented than everyone else on the floor that when people try to receive his game unless they come from that culture and have seen the origins of that style in street ball that did translate to winning and guys like Kobe Bryant or Michael Jordan. What did you think when Michael Jordan was doing tween twins, he got that from a fundamental uh system? So, no, it translates. All LaMelo has to do is decide when and where and how he’ll become the one. Do I think there’s a level of seriousness that LaMelo needs to implement to his game? Yes. But that comes with time and experience. Once again, Starry Night was not painted overnight. Is it that time for LaMelo to finally fulfill who he can be and be that glitch in the Matrix? Absolutely. But y’all tell me what y’all think down in the comments sections below. Is LaMelo a glitch to the current NBA algorithm? Is he a glitch to the style of play that the NBA wants to push out? And do these guys like Brian Winhorse and uh Tim Bmps and all of these NBA analysts, do they know what they’re talking about or are they just ignorant to what they’re watching? Y’all let us know down there in the comments section below. Make sure y’all share the video, like the video, subscribe to the channel. We appreciate each and every one of you all for all of your support.

I agree with everything you said, the crazy part is he's not even 25.
Subscribed great NBA content
top tier content over here
That Kyrie take was so spot on. If they would have done right and hired D’Antoni, he wouldve built the whole engine off what Lamelo brings.
Bingo!!!!
🔥 🏡 This video is what they call a Hood Classic, Lamelo Ball is a player when I watch game to game, possession to possession I never know what he’s gonna do and he plays the game at such a speed and velocity, to say this young man, doesn’t put his all out there and compete would be not only dishonest but disrespectful to the kid that took the road less traveled and achieved his dream to get to the NBA.
